Gash, huge thankyou. I have upgraded to all grain. Did this today, few lessons learnt but nothing too out of the norm. I think the batch went well. it is now sitting in the fermenter and I guess I will see in a few weeks if its alright :). Had a few of your videos playing along the way to ensure I was doing everything well. Absolute legend mate!!
Nice work! Thanks mate!
I brewed something very similar for this Christmas, but with a twist. I late and dry hopped with a small amount of Motueka hops to try and emulate the "lime in the bottle" trick. It's absolutely delicious!
I don't add fruit to my beers but some will even add a touch of citric acid. Cheers!
One day, when I have enough money, I would love to fly out from the US to Melbourne to hang out with Gash, drinking homebrews and talking punk music.
Do it. :)
I'm going to do this one for sure Gash. I never even thought of using polenta. Freight is so expensive these days especially here in regional Upper B.F. County.
Hope you enjoy it, cheers mate!
Looks wonderful!
Thanks mate, cheers!
Thanks for the video. Going to try this one today
Hope you enjoy it!
Great recipe brother, and excellent tip with the polenta! Cheers 🍻
Thanks for watching. Cheers mate
Love my lager! So do most of my friends. Never thought of using polenta, I'm going to use them in my next batch. Thanks Gash!!
Cheers mate, good luck!
Happy New Year Gash, you look good mate. I think this will be my next brew
Happy new year! Hope you enjoy it!
Love the Videos!!! Keep them up!!! Jusso from Sunshine Coast QLD
Thank you! Will do. Cheers mate!
Great video great looking beer great content cheers 👍🍻
Thank you kindly. Cheers mate!
Your content is outstanding! - "Challenges are the stepping stones to personal growth.."
I can never seem to get my beers carbonated as good as that
I run longer lines than all the facebook cowboys saying to shorten them all the time. Not much longer though, around 2.5m 4mm line. I have my gas set to 14psi, though it runs through some one way valves so maybe sitting a little lower IRL. It can make thinner beers like this a bit of a bugger to pour but I like them like this. Cheers!
Just brewed this . Currently waiting for it to drop a few degrees in the fermenter.
I missed the pre boil by about 6 points so boiled a little longer then added some dextrose . Over compensated 🤦came out about 5% oh well you live and you learn. Can't wait to try it . Cheers Gash
Hope you enjoy it! Cheers mate
Hey Gash! I did something similar not too long ago and loved it. Was basically this but with Cluster (religious Gold drinker). Was amazed at how good Nova pulls up so quick.
My first batch was with some home grown field corn but numbers suggest i missed the gelatinization targets completely. Next round with HBS corn worked a treat though.
Ended up calling it "Corny Kegged" and got a label made up in Etsy because it's definitely on the rotation for summer.
Sounds interesting! Did you just use the corn raw? Cheers
Cheers for a great recipe video!
When you add fining to the keg, do you do it before you transfer the beer?
Or after so it goes in on top?
Cheers!
Either way, its doesn't matter. Cheers
Going to have to try this. My cream ale I brewed for a few competitions last fall didn't fare as well as I expected. I plan to change the hops and I might try polenta now instead of flaked maze. Thanks again. Also, where can I get one of those t-shirts?
Good luck with the re-brew mate. Should be in here somewhere shop.spreadshirt.com/home-brew-network
Have you used flaked corn when making lagers.
yes I have
Hello, you have a question, what is HTO and HALO? . and what brand of yeast nutrient. THANKS
Bad translation.. both are Hallertau you can see the recipe in the description. Cheers
Merci . i am french i used google translator to watch your video , Thank you for your response, I want to make your Beer@@HomeBrewNetwork
the google translator is not always correct
Would saf lager 34/70 work on this recipe? Going to do this for my next beer. Happy to get nova lager but have 34/70 in the fridge that needs to be used
Sure can.
My Mex Lager is similar to this but I use 34/70.
Yes it will, it might take a little longer to ferment cleanly and condition but it will work. Cheers
Gash: Could one do your mini decoction mash hack with many other beers like a porter; looked so easy and not messy, so would be worth it I reckon. Sorry mate, just seen the previous show about lager and tips. Thanks.
For sure you can. You might not pick up on all of the subtleties in a dark beer... But you might..
Trendsetters!! I know a bloke...
Hello to you miscs products, are you important or not. THANKS
The brand isn't important, any instant polenta should be good
