I grew up in the Bronx eating this type of American Chinese food. It was one of the few foods we could afford because the local Chinese spot would except out food stamps as my family was on welfare. I remember loving these flavors and being so happy and full. One of the few joys of of growing up back then. This Channel allows me to reconnect with these flavors by cooking the meals my self. Thank you
This woman has changed my stir fry game to MASTER level! I even bought a big wok burner for coocking outside. My neighbors LOVE these recipes. I told them they're mine🤫. My wife and i thank you.
I've tried many different chicken and broccoli recipes, but this is one of the best ones. Using egg white in the marinade and searing the veggies was a touch of genius.
I've made this recipe pretty regularly for about a year. It's my favorite thing to make and I'm always in the mood for it. I love and make all of your recipes, Mandy. You're the best! 谢谢!!
I've been cooking out a bougie cookbook this past month and this recipe tasted twice as good and took half the time to make. Really incredible recipe. I added an aromatic base of onion, celery and bell pepper and stir fryed for 3 min before pushing it to the side and adding in the chicken and GODDAMN this was SOOOO good. Especially love how you're so detailed in your explanation of cooking technique!
I just made this tonight and my husband and I both LOVED it! He said if he was in the mood for Chinese one night he would want THIS, NOT take out! And that velveting technique? Brilliant!!!! Thank you for a a great recipe and method!!
Thank you for this, moved to a city about a year ago now and all the chinese restaurants here are so bad it was depressing. Not only was this better than any takeout in town, better than any takeout Ive ever had.
I made your broccoli beef last night Pai, and I was watching Mandy make this and thought to myself "hey I cook my broccoli like this too" and then she said "I got this from Hot Thai Kitchen" and I'm like "that's how I learned to do that too!" :P Small UA-cam world I guess haha
This recipe was amazing!! I’ve tried so many that always taste like something is missing in the sauce. This was so good. Thank you so much for sharing. I will use this recipe every time
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I so enjoy your videos. I took all of the steps listed in your video and made chicken with broccoli and added a few extra vegetables after watching your stir-fry vegetable video. It came out so tasty. Thank you so much and I'm going to order a few of your knives because I have horrible knives at home. Have a good day
Just made this a few nights ago with my own modifications. Sauce was fantastic even without the oyster or fake oyster ingredients! Used skinless boneless chicken thighs (on sale) cooked the same as directions and used potato starch instead of corn starch. Put in a varied blend of sauteed fresh veg and used basmati rice (all I had) and no salt in any part of the recipe. The only negative comment was too much pepper, so next time I'll use half the amount of white pepper. Otherwise tasted better than any Chinese restaurant I've been to in NYC. Superb! Felt totally satisfied and no cravings a few hours later, typical of Chinese takeout.
Made this tonight. I followed your instructions as closely as I could except I was out of Oyster Sauce and subbed fish sauce. I massaged the chicken for the full five minutes and toasted the veggies as shown. All your promises held true. The veggies were crisp and so flavourful and the chicken melted in the mouth. I have a sturdy garlic press snd I use that for the ginger first, and then the garlic. Really works! I really love your videos.
Sooo I bought my first wok today and made this recipe for my boyfriend, who is American and has little experience with Asian foods. I also made him another chicken dish which is Western, in case he didn't like the Asian food. He actually likes this stir fried chicken better, which makes me so happy and proud of our Asian cuisine! Thank you so much for sharing ❤️❤️❤️
I have watched your UA-cam site for a couple of years now. I have made a couple of your recipes, The salt and pepper shrimp was especially a hit. I tried the chicken and broccoli tonight and was blown away! My husband couldn't believe how tender the chicken was and the seasoning was perfect! I can't thank you enough for giving us your secrets. They really made all the difference. I am now going to try to the exact seasoning you recommend (if I can find them). I NEVER write reviews but I couldn't stop myself here. Thank You for sharing your knowledge Mary
I have not been able to get Chinese food since the Coronavirus pandemic. All of the restaurants were closed☹. My co-worker suggested I go on U Tube, find a recipe and make my own Chinese food. I stumbled across your channel and followed the directions. I am a slow cook, so my chicken marinated for more than 20 minutes. Also I did not have any large carrots, only organic baby carrots. I sliced each carrot in half and roasted my vegetables. Omg, this dish turned out amazing!🤗In fact I loved the sauce so much I doubled the batch to go with some white rice. 😋 You have a new sibscriber!
This kind of cooking is the antithesis of what Western supermarkets want us to eat. Apparently convenience is King. I have been cooking "Asian" food, for want of a better word, for at least 20 years and from start to finish it is wonderful. This enthusiastic and extremely talented young woman cares so much about every single morsel of food and how it is prepared and how it is cooked. Food is the most important part of our lives. Every meal should be thought about, considered and cared about. Your methods and enthusiasm should be taught to all children from primary school to university. I salute you and your passion for fantastic food!
I just tried this recipe and it was absolutely delicious! Thank you so much for sharing it! It will definitely be a part of our go to chicken dishes! Do you have a recipe for pan fried noodles?
Just made this tonight, oh boy was it good. I have enjoyed making the dishes I have seen Mandy make, they are pretty easy to make once you get past using a wok the first few times.
You're never selfish with tips and very precise recipes (Love it in the description box).... AMAZING, Mandy.... 😍😍😍 Love your new table top (better than the living room) kkkk.... 😁😁😁 Keep up the hard work.... 😘😘😘 P.S. You're so young.... yet so knowledgeable.... ❤❤❤
I made this last night, and it was fantastic! We couldn't stop talking about the chicken - it was SO tender and perfectly cooked. I'm definitely going to be trying more of your recipes. Thank you!
ive been making it for the past year to my friends and family, everyone who tried it, including my father who does not like asian foods, absolutely loves it! thank you so much for sharing this recipe, easy quick and delicious
Just finished making this for about the tenth time, and this dish is FANTASTIC. The sauce has all the notes I'm looking for in a rich stir-fry, and it has always been a delight. Toasting the vegetables rather than blanching adds a wonderful depth, and keeps all that crunch! Try it once by the book, and you can learn to experiment with it.... Thanks Souped Up Recipes, I went from can't cook to can do!
I never make comments on UA-cam but this is by far the best meal I’ve ever made . Everyone is asking me for the recipe. Thank you so much for sharing , my family and I really enjoyed it .
I just made this today and WOW this was amazing!!! i didnt have fresh broccoli, so i roasted some frozen ones in the oven (i tried to still get some of that char on them), and added it with the cooked chicken at the end. the chicken marinade/cooking method is genius, it was incredibly tender! ill definitely be making this again, thank you so much! :]
Love and have made many of your recipes! I especially like that your stir fry recipes aren't swimming in sauce. You are a pleasure to watch, and thank you for sharing your techniques and recipes with us!
The best chicken and broccoli recipe. I made it for me, my wife and two other friends they love it they couldn’t believe that I cooked it. Thx for sharing added this to my cooking binder .
This was absolutely delicious and so easy to make. Took me about 35-40 minutes start to finish on my first try. Tastes like the restaurant stuff, but less sweet. Definitely give this one a try!
Made this tonight - I didn't have oyster sauce so I subbed for a tablespoon of dry sherry and a bit of sesame oil. I also doubled the chicken and broccoli. I also added some dried arbol peppers for spice. It came out phenomenal! Not sure if I used too much white pepper or the recipe used too much, but it was slightly overpowering. Overall though would absolutely make this one again. Thank you!
Just made this it turned out amazing 😉 my family loved it thank you for this amazing recipe this is my second time using your recipes. Keep up this good work!!💖
I just made it and it came out wonderful. I like the idea of putting a little char on the broccoli which is not typically done in this dish which actually adds a wonderful flavor to the dish. Thanks for the recipe and all the help on learning how to make it.
I just made this recipe and it’s so good! I doubled all the ingredients because I made enough for a family of 4. The sauce is excellent; it tastes just like what you get in a Chinese restaurant. I admit I just steamed my veggies though. I also added less pepper. That’s the only thing I changed. I was shocked by how moist and juicy the chicken was... Wow. This will definitely be my go to recipe for chicken & broccoli! Thank you 😊
I searched broccoli chicken recipes and your dish looked the best so I tried it. Absolutely delicious. You are right the roasted broccoli is wonderful. Thanks for sharing.
We just tried this tonight. Not a fan of garlic and it was the first time I’ve ever made something with fresh garlic. We all thought it was delicious. The broccoli and carrot technique was new to me but was so delicious. Thank you for sharing such a yummy recipe.
Made this yesterday and loved it . It is my Husband favorite when we order out. . The best I ever ate. Roasting the Broccoli was lovely and browning the meat added flavor . This is a winner . Thank you ☺️
Just made some for my picky eater he always loved chicken and broccoli. We stopped buying from Chinese restaurant for a while ,since than i tried make it my own but wasn't coming out same taste, this one is the closes one. Will make it for whole family🥰
I have made the chicken following your recipe at least a dozen times and it is excellent. My go to chicken recipe. I vary the vegetables, according to what I have available at the time. Thank you for sharing the recipe!
I made this dish tonight but I added more vegetables for a stir fry look....it was exquisite, chicken had tons of flavor and it was tender! My husband loved it too!!!! Will be making it again soon 😃
Made this tonight to break myself out of my usual recipe rotation and I am so glad I did! It was delicious and made enough for dinner tonight and lunch tomorrow. Thanks for the great recipe~
This channel is consistent with delicious recipes. All the ones I tried, I enjoyed. For chicken broccoli, this may be my favorite of other chicken broccoli recipes. Thank you.
I made your chicken and broccoli one day and beef and broccoli the next four my family. We loved it thank you for sharing your recipes. This going to be one of our new regulars. Thank you again
Just looking at your video makes me hungry. Your food is amazing. I made this dish today and it was delicious. Your videos are delightful to watch and your teaching skills are simple, informative and it's a joy learn from you. Plus you are charismatic and cute.... :-) Keep up the good work and thank you for your educational and delightful cooking videos. I salute you.
Ate this yesterday, delicious! I wasn't a fan of the dry roasting (afraid to burn stuff) so i instead baked the veggies in oil on the highest possible temperature to get a good sear on the brocolli. Also a tip to people who worry about being fat: Leave the sugar out, it tastes just as great. Thanks for the recipe!
Takeout chicken and broccoli is my children's favorite, so I came here today wanting to get some tips, so thank you thank you! Your presentation is very sweet and fun. I think a lot of Americans might not know the difference between soy sauce and dark soy sauce. Most are using Kikkoman, so you may wish to show the bottled that you're using.
My favorite take out order was chicken and broccoli. I haven’t ordered since seeing your recipe!!! I make it at least once a week and it’s always “so good” Thank you so much !!!😊
We bought the wok you recommend and love it! The bamboo cover is amazingly effective , and the stainless "shovel" for stirring is great. Such a bargain for $39!
I made this today. I made Kung Pao chicken yesterday and Beef and Broccoli on Monday. You motivate me to try cooking Asian food which I have always wanted to but never really put the effort in.
This is absolutely fantastic! I never make a recipe without having to season and change things up but that was the case here. I do want to mention I added some MSG to the sauce but changed noting else. I love her recipes and this one might be the best: so simple and quick but incredible.
I do a similar recipe but I keep the chicken marinated overnight and than drop it in boiling water for one minute , drain and add to skillet with sauce for another minute . I also quickly boil the broccoli and green beans before adding to skillet . This is really the best way to eat chicken breast that is soft and velvety .
Huh, I forgot I commented on this before lol. Just made this again, with some small changes this time (hoisin + fish sauce to substitute oyster sauce, and added some parsnip and button mushrooms, also used leftover chickenbreast which I still tossed in the marinate for a few seconds before frying it.) and once again it turned out amazing.
I am setting and eating this recipe as i type.. It is delicious and the tip to sear the vegetables was a good one. I will try that in all the Chinese food I cook now
Mandy. We made this recipe but substituted the broccoli and carrots for a Chinese veggie mix. Excellent! And we always double the sauce amount. So much better than take out. No msg, no missing items or cold food. You rock!
I grew up in the Bronx eating this type of American Chinese food. It was one of the few foods we could afford because the local Chinese spot would except out food stamps as my family was on welfare. Are you two going to do a crossover episode?! 😃
Both of you prepare the most amazing dishes. I'm just glad I found you two! I'm never at a loss trying to decide what's for dinner. Thank you both!
You two are my favourite female chefs, thanks so much 😊🍀🇮🇪

Going on about 3 years remaking this dish - it’s a staple for us at home! Thank you 🐓🥦
Thanks for the tip on slicing at an angle. One of those things that seem like common sense in hindsight but I never thought of doing it that way
you know you can't go wrong with this when it's coming from an asian lady herself, so excited to try this out. Thank you!

It’s amazing, the vegetables turned out crispy and the chicken very soft, the best chicken and broccoli dish I have ever tried! 🥢
You literally go to an Asian shop and ask for dark soy sauce.
I love the simplicity of your videos.
😭😭😭😭 This recipe is incredible. Thank you!
This was a great recipe. I made this tonight for my husband and I and it was fantastic, even with our inferior American ingredients..
Mine come out salty, and then I added more sugar and did taste like teriyaki sauce
You Are Such A Great And Detailed Cook. You Make It So Easy.
WOW - HAPPY FAMILY! That has got to be the BEST Chinese I have ever made. Thank you for making me a hero in my home!
This is absolutely fantastic! I never make a recipe without having to season and change things up but that was the case here. I do want to mention I added some MSG to the sauce but changed noting else. I love her recipes and this one might be the best: so simple and quick but incredible.
I made this recently, I love the marinade ,
it was delicious.
I just perched my first wok to start making your dishes 🥰 thank you for making these videos!!
Amazing and truly was better than takeout! Have used many blogs but your recipes have been the most authentic! Reminds me of home
Your videos are amazing love them💞
I only subscribed to your channel a year ago and I'm just now catching some of the really old videos, you have come such a long way!!!
I just tried this and am eating the results right now, it's _amaaazing!_ Thank you so much for sharing the recipe!
I’m making this for a second time tonight. Everyone loved it! Follow her instructions exactly and you won’t be disappointed!
Thank you for trying my recipes. It is very nice of you to share the results with me=)
I made it today, it is delicious! Thanks for your video and list of ingredients on how to use them.
Made the chicken part tonight. Didn't have corn starch, so used potato flour. My wife loved it. So did I.Thank you!
Recipe is superb. Tried it for the new year party. My son enjoyed the chicken. Thankyou very much
I am setting and eating this recipe as i type..
You rock!
😘 chefs kiss, it is bomb AF! Everyone liked it, i didn’t have fresh ginger on hand so I used ginger powder and it was still good.
Made this for dinner today, it was superb! My husband and kiddo loved it!
Just made this for tea tonight. Easy recipe to follow and very tasty. Better than takeout 🙂
I just followed your recipe and it was wonderful. Thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing your trade secrets. My husband and I are both still homebound due to covid and now I can prepare some of my favorites.
Love this and how well you explain! !! Thank you for your kindness
I just received your Wok. [I initialized it, as you taught in a recent video] and this dish will be the first {of many} that I cook in it! 非常感謝! 🤠
Looks delicious :) life has been difficult lately but your videos always put a smile on my face.
Hope better...
