Unfortunately the only 2 mission types where players *have* to face high-level enemies either don't have a primed faction mod (Deep Archimedea) or are mixed-faction (Steel Patch Duviri Circuit). So build for Gas or Blast with a Heat Progenitor Kuva Sobek and bring Nautilus with Cordon, and your favourite priming weapon - I'm using the Tazicor here as its the most suited to frequent re-priming, but Cryotra and Helstrum work just as well. Improved Nova with Xata's Whisper, and Heat KSobek with PPB, Clip Delegation, CC/CD, Galvanized Hell and Amalgam Shotgun Barrage, Toxic Barrage and Acid Shells cleans house. I imagine other frames can do the same thing.

But here are some tipps that would make your vids a bit more structured: - In case someone is just searching for the build after watching your video, please put the build of the weapon/frame including progenitor at the start of each section. - in the build, don't just show the mods, show the stats as well, so we can see if the elements match, for example Other than that, you are my favorite youtuber, keep up the good work :)

Nothing about it is hard to understand. Heat's only weakness is Proto-Shield which Magnetic more than makes up for, and Magnetic's only weakness is Alloy Armor which Heat proc will shred in half. Assuming these weaknesses stay similar in Jade Shadows with the health type streamlining, I could see Heat+Magnetic being a good combo and I'm looking forward to trying it out on Burston Incarnon.
whats gonna be the change in magnetic?
@@naenae2350magnetic might get a buff to damaging overguard
@@pablohernandez3899 how about corrosive buff, any news? heard that corro is useless after enemy is fully armor stripped
@@naenae2350 As it is now, corrosive damage is strong against armor stat. No armor means no weakness to corrosive. The rework will make all resistances be universal per faction. Corrosive bonuses will work on both HP and armor, and to everyone in that faction.
@@naenae2350 Well I'd hardly say it's useless, it's just that the Corrosive procs have done their job: strip enemy armour. I think without archon shards Corrosive strips up to 80% which doesn't sound great but keep in mind that at full armour strip any health type bonuses are removed. Armour is getting changed in Jade Shadows to make partial armour strip more viable. Cold+Corrosive will be a big benefit of this, since the damage types compliment each other very well and both are very useful status procs too.
I didn't know the acid shells trick worked with Zephyr
You're winning no friends this episode, Ken. I might just put both main faction mods on at once to avoid swapping. My riven is toxin damage, which is too good for Saryn to risk re-rolling.
two faction mods are generally not worth it. you lose the extra damage that you're running the faction mod for in the first place. just use different loadouts for different factions if it's that complicated.
@@_.violyse._ The Sobek is somewhat unique though, in that it doesn't need to kill much for itself. It's slightly sub-optimal, but much less so than for weapons that don't have %hp mechanics.
@@_.violyse._warframe players when they only do 3 million damage instead of 6 million to an enemy that only has 100k hp
Thanks for these kind of videos, i may have 2k hours but i dont really know all the small details there are to squeeze dmg out of a weapon. Wf just has too many combinations to know them all
2:18 If you do full armor strip with single shot is that shot affected by it or is it the next one?
Frost + Roar and Sobek is fun
Great video! Can we also please have an updated guide on what progenitor element to use for each kuva/tenet weapon? I'm confused with what element I should be using for Kuva Chakurr after the status rework and I don't have a lot of time to play Warframe anymore.
If i remember correctly, garudas 4 also benfits from acid shells.
Kuva sobek after blast damage changes gonna be op
I've been futzing around with various weapons for a Zephyr primary. This might finally be the one...
Another great video from TheKengineer!
There should be an option that automatically swaps your faction dmg mod according to the mission
At that point you might as well just increase the base damage of every weapon by the faction mod damage bonus and remove the mods from the game.
People that say "just use the faction mod" are the same kind of people that, when faced to a well thought out argument about why you should have a functional public transport system, will yell at you "oh just shut up and get a car"
what
He suggested using them in this single, niche build, because they are the only mod that directly buffs acid shell's damage. He did not say you should use them in every build. Hell, you need to use a specific subsume on the Frost build, a subsume he otherwise wouldn't use. Subsume that costs resources to add in, where as using a specific mod in a specific loadout for a specific mod interaction costs nothing. How hard is this to understand.
OMG perfect time just spent over 30 runs on Cassini before getting my 41% sobek
Bro if you end the mission and not reset, the weapon gets thrown out of the pool of available guns. How did you do 30 runs?
@@Leon-eq6ei I thought it was rng, so I just left the game each time the gun wasn’t the right one untill I got the one I wanted
@@Rain_42 That was before the changes, now it isn't RNG. better keep that in mind,
Man I really need to stop getting rid of rivens before an upgraded version of the weapon comes out. This has happened 5 times now.
Havent played warframe in a hot year, but that title alone makes me salivate..... I have like 1k hours on my Saryn/Acid Shells Setup :D
Would have been nice if you showed that xatas whisper and acid shell build
You forgot to show a build for the non-crit, non-Zephyr Sobek ----> no, you did not, I am sorry, but the build was hidden inside Saryn, this was the reason I did not find it at first, I skipped the Saryn part, because I don't like playing her.
But here are some tipps that would make your vids a bit more structured:
- In case someone is just searching for the build after watching your video, please put the build of the weapon/frame including progenitor at the start of each section.
- in the build, don't just show the mods, show the stats as well, so we can see if the elements match, for example
Other than that, you are my favorite youtuber, keep up the good work :)
I did not expect to see any warframe creator actively supporting faction mods today, but things happen apparently.
He suggested using them in this single, niche build, because they are the only mod that directly buffs acid shell's damage. He did not say you should use them in every build. Nothing about it is hard to understand. However, most Warframe creators recognize factions mods as the awful design choice they are, and don't tell people to 'get over it' and use the crappy things regardless. My confusion isn't over him saying faction mods would help, it's over him actively defending and supporting the existence of faction mods in the first place.
@@nssheepster”defending and supporting the existence” lmao.
It’s a free, non competitive game. The existence of suboptimal mods is irrelevant. It’s not like the fact they exist is a detriment in any way, shape or form to anyone.
@@Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmiam 'They're not a detriment' - They are actually, but sure, you roll with that and entirely ignore the negatives that come with their existence.
@@nssheepster Are you forced to use them? Are you at a loss if you don’t? No?
Then what? What could possibly be the detriment of them just existing? To be sometimes recommended them in a very niche mod loadout where they actually are useful?
And more importantly, why would that prompt you to insinuate that the creator that recommended it in ONE build is somehow in some sort of moral failing because you personally do not like it. THAT is wierd.
They need to just make universal faction mod shit ain't worth my time to swap them
Isn't the explosion currently bugged and requires line of sight?
yes he mentioned that, also it doesnt work if the enemy is even 1cm in elevation difference
Thanks as always
Could y do a video about snaphoting in warframe i know its not realy complicated but i just like the way you explain stuff
Just got a unveiled a kuva sobek riven that someone surprisingly game me from trade chat (wowzers)
can u make a video on the mutalist cernos ? It's a good weapon, I swear, I'm not insane !
What about Nova’s Molecular Prime to extend Acid Shells range, how well would that work?
Hey man, are you going to cover the new status changes in a video?
Yes
See, a slightly condescending tone used by everyone who advocates for them to say "Get gud, use a faction mod" is why I will never use them
Out of sheer spite, knowing it dampens my DPS
I don’t use faction mods with melee influence as players constantly tell me it will reduce my killing speed. My -2.1 billion damage cap Venka Prime beg to differ. Learn your weapons and keep modding. UA-camrs just jerk the meta mouth foamers.
I just wish they would ad a QOL bane all mod for anyone that levels all the faction mods of that type (rifle/shotgun and so on) how I see it working is when you have all the shotgun faction mods maxed you get to merge them into a bane all mod for a cost of X, I’m all about any QOL mechanic added to any game and the less you have to swap out mods the better unless you want to pay plat to unlock the loadout slots 4 &5 for each weapon you use, if your a F2P gamers that’s really going to suck.
The solution is to boycott faction mods.
As they are now, you don't need them and they're bad game design.
They're a crutch for people who don't know how to mod, and a boring lazy tedious win-more button for those who do.

I f2p and I earn Plat by selling things I grind it's really not that difficult
9:45 guess my 8 forma sobek, with grineer and corpus 1.44 faction dmg + 80% toxin is worth sticking with then. cheers. no i didnt overinvest, you did!
Ive a queation about using tauforged violet archon shards with the primary elect. chosen on each and using 5 of them
Question, any particular reason for merciless over primary blight? Like does merciless effect acid shells damage?
Reload. IF you do blight you need a serration damage type source
Sorry that I wasn't being specific enough. That's my own fault. I'm talking about in reference specifically to sarin since the only thing we need to change would be the arcane. You already get toxin from toxic lash.
I know im late to the party and tbis will Probably get buried but are you able to do a video on the torid incarrnon like diffrent builds for the diffrent factions/sp
so the kuva has nothhing special no alt fire no stat variation?
I think it’s okay to hate faction mods, but holy fuck guys.
I’ve just started using acid shells kuva sobek and thermomagnetic shells tenet detron with mag but not sure how they work with polarize, do you have any idea?
sir, can you make updated heavy weapon guide? pls?
Wow, I never thought I would hear you use the term “Get good”. I hope that was satire. If not I am disappointed.
We need to be able to roll riven with a +% damage to all factions
I'd sooner trust the US government than use faction mods 😤
The reason Kengineer recommended them here is that they are one of only a couple sources of Acid Shells damage. He even said you can still use the shotgun without Faction mods. You only need it to buff Acid Shells.
@@dogma32 I know, I'm just leaning into the joke of people not liking faction mods
Wonder when DE Will add galvanized square steel

Whats the point of the range mods on saryn, do range mods on saryn help with the sobek aoe in any way?
After few test, it is better than boar when use as shotgun even boar incarnon with extreme good riven( multi, cd ,cc). When mix with 2 emeral build, corrosive status can apply 14 stack corrosive in one shot. Yes it happen!
Better than boar? Not too sure about that.
What if limbo was to use the kuva sobek?
how come everyone i see play this game gets the "you have been playing for an hour please take a break" message except me? did i turn off a setting or sth years ago?
What if you put Xata's Whisper on Zephyr or Saryn and use it with Acid Shells?

I hear HM mentioned here, for obvious reasons, its a good mod.
But i saw it does puncture, had insane status chance, why no mention of iternal bleeding? Can you only apply one impact per shot. Is it not per pelet? Oike i actually have no idea how many impact procs and therefore bleed procs via IB it does per shot. I guess ill finally go do nerd stuff in the D-pad room.
I have covered Internal Bleeding in it's own video but the tl:dw is it's not worth it without forced impact procs.
"put the faction mod on" No
Does the mod that spread cold procs count for the gotva prime's ability? In other words, does it count as a proc of an element caused by the weapon?
i would only use faction mods if we got if statements on weapon loadouts like a user setupable if statement thing so eg if using a soma prime if fighting corrupted use loadout a and/or if using this frame use loadout e
"Use the faction mods."
me who uses the negative faction damage riven mod:
"no :)"
Do you need armour strip with zephyr for the sobek?
Shattering Justice might become nichely useful once the blast proc changes happen, or maybe not.
We'll have to see when the update drops. Hopefully Ken and the otehr warframe engineers in the community will have lots to tell us once the changes drop.
Ken how is Harrow with such things? i have Xata's whisper on him myself :)
the amount of hate and vitriol im seeing over faction mods is insane, what kind of build did you expect to see? ofc a gimmicky mod like Acid Shells is going to need help from stuff like faction mods.
Faction mods are pocket roar, and acid shells is worth it. If you swap elements, you can swap faction mod. Or literally leave it on grineer/corrupted based on fissures or the only hardest enemies
So i want the toxin progenitor if i want to run acid shells saryn ? I just got my first larvaling and its 57% magnetic. Im gping for one more for the 60%

acid shells is still bugged ?
