It looks absolutely amazing. I'm glad that they used Hank in the soundtrack, too. To quote Joel - "That is actually before my time. That is a winner, though."
Don't know if anyone has pointed this out to you yet, but the song playing during the trailer is the same one that plays when they get ambushed in Pittsburgh and Joel says "Oh he ain't even hurt."

The hype is too real! It's one of the most thrilling and emotional experiences I've ever had playing a game. It transcends gaming. Yes it's fun to play but it's also a heart wrenching story. Both games are. So I can't wait to see how it's adapted for tv.

The cinematography looks top notch. This doesn't look like one of those cash-grabby video game adaptations. There's real talent going into this.

If you liked the cinematography, you should 100% check out Beanpole. The writer + director of that movie, Kantemir Balagov, is directed the first two episodes. AND his cinematographer for that movie, Ksenia Sereda, is working on a LOT of this show. She is, I believe, one of the 3 cinematographers on the show.

It's almost like they based the game off of this instead of the other way around.
You can see the actors mimicking their video game characters' mannerisms.
It's actually kind of scary how they did that.
Hearing the Clicker gave me chills. Seeing Winter makes me happy I don't I've ever raged as hard then playing as Ellie

I am gonna reserve judgement for when it does come out, but the diehard fan in me CANNOT HELP but be absolutely freaking psyched for this show to come out. It'll be absolutely worth the HBO Max subscription alone. Holy crap. So, yeah. I can absolutely relate to you being super excited about it. Film/TV adaptations of video games tend to not do very well, so again, I will reserve judgement but holy hell. I am excite.
I know 😭 uncharted was super disappointing for me… but from the trailers alone this seems like it’s so much closer to the game!! EXCITED
Honestly ngl I was WORRIED when it was announced and during filming. I was so scared they wouldn't do it justice but OMG that trailer did it for me! I had literal tears in my eyes. It looks so good and I'm so ready!
I love that they chose the song that they used in the original game teaser trailer, back in 2013, for the teaser trailer for the show!
I love that they seem to have trusted the games story enough to just run with it rather then trying to change it beyond recognition as they are want to do these days
There will be some new stuff i herd Bill , Tess and Riley will get some backstory but mostly the first season covers the first game 10 episodes about an hour long so about 10 hours of content for season 1. Lol I don’t know how they could do it but the game is about 15 hours too play so I could see it
@@ryans413 i feel like if they can actually do all of season 1 with the first main game & left behind in just 1 hour each episode with it being 10 episodes with also keeping the strong and important scenes of the game it could honestly be great.
but the fact that they are gonna also from whats been mentioned open up the story, world and characters a bit more like someone from naughty dog or anyone from an official article is very appreciated. then maybe season 2 will be what we didnt see before they arrive at jackson again for the second time and we see ellie grow up. we'll know when they get to the part 2 plot of the story tho oof im not ready for that mentally.

Im actually with u on this one, i got chills watching this trailer 🤩 im really excited.
I hope this would be more of the in-between moments from the games. Like start from the death of Joel’s daughter to when the game starts 20yrs later. Then fill in the gaps when they travel to the different locations. Maybe every 4-5yrs is a season for the show?

I'm actually looking forward to this, I'm really interested to see if they show scenes of their journey from Boston to Pittsburgh to Colorado and into Utah, even also some backstory to how all of this happened. Just curious 🤔
Really looking forward to this. Lots of scope between the season parts we played. I hope they show the build up to why lou2 is so good and why a certain persons death is very justified.
The only way that would be fair is if they showed all the terrible things the Fireflies did (they admitted to it in 2).

I *really* like how they captured the atmosphere of the Goldstone Building in the Boston outskirts, and much of the world in general..
Seen this trailer a billion times now and I keep saying the same thing it looks amazing that clicker scene with Tess Ellie and Joel captures the game perfectly the way Joel walks is like the game the little details like the broken watch is perfect all the actors look like there characters and I even herd that Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson have a role in the show at some point so that’s going too be cool too see. And the actress that played Marleen she is playing herself in the show so that’s awesome
Pedro will be phenomenal. teared up with his daughter's scenes.

I'm usually not a fan of adapting games into movies or shows (Uncharted movie for example), but I'm pleasantly surprised by this trailer. Can't be sure yet of course but I'm definitely more hopeful that they'll stay true to the game after seeing that. Loved your reaction

@@roderick8167 Wise choice. It wasn't the worst action film ever made, but Wahlberg and Tom Holland played both of their characters like they were Nate and the constant double-crossing didn't really work for the plot.
I am excited to see it, though being in AU I am unsure if it will be available when it airs in the US or be delayed and what service is going to offer it, which is a shame, not all fans are in the US and able to have HBO max as a subscription.

This show has a shot at being a genuinely good show, and not just "good enough for a video game adaptation". The writer + creative director of the first game is co-writing the entire thing (AND he's directing an episode) with Craig Mazin (wrote + showran Chernobyl. Is a MASSIVE fan of the games and campaigned execs to make this adaptation a TV show, and not a 2hr movie).
They've picked a STELLAR team of directors: Kantemir Balagov (won a Cannes award for directing Beanpole. It was also shortlisted for an Oscar), Jasmila Zbanic (Oscar nominated movie, "Quo Vaids, Aida?"), Ali Abassi (the weird and great film, Border), Liza Johnson (One of the best episodes of HBO's Barry), Jeremy Webb (some of the best Punisher S02 eps), Peter Hoar (some of the best Daredevil S02 eps).
They've got a solid cast, too. So yeah. I am VERY optimistic about this. And I am keeping an open mind and not going in expecting a 1:1 of the games. This is an adaptation, after all!

I'm more optimistic for this because of the fact that it's a tv series rather then a movie movie adaptations of games just always end up tanking cause they limit themselves to an hour or two and try to squeeze too much into that short amount of time but with a tv series they can always just do another season as long as there is support behind the show so they can take more time on it and put more money into it fingers crossed this ends up being better then any of the other game adaptations we have had in the past cause from the trailer and the sneak peaks we have had so far it looks really good

The people complaining that Bella Ramsay doesn’t look like Ellie need to realize that this show is an ADAPTATION not a COPY PASTE. Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsay are amazing actors and if they got the part then it’s only because they were THAT good. I trust Neil Druckmann and the entire HBO crew with this show and I personally can not WAIT for this show to come out! Great reaction liteweight! I can tell you are going to go nuts when this show finally comes out and so will I!!! 😂😂😂❤️

I am excited after seeing this trailer. There were multiple scenes ripped straight out of the game in this and it feels they are staying close to the source material.

Pedro Pascal is a great actor. He will do fantastic as Joel.
It is curious that the music of the Santaolalla soundtrack is from South America and Pedro Pascal is also from the South... Andean music that is in the culture of all the peoples of South America. Could it be that the creator wanted to make this story based on these two protagonists??? Remember that in Chile many Germans and other Europeans will follow one another there in the Second World War, I say this by the surname of Miller de Joel. who knows the connection goes that way... right?

they haven't still revealed who troy bakers character (the original voice actor for Joel) since both Ellie's voice actor and Joel was casted in the show(Ashley playing Ellies mom which is iconic).....I have feeling troy will play David, anybody think so?

but, this? the trailer and reaction is great. both had so much energy. i'll give the trailer a pass. it has bella ramsey? and pedro pascal? they're both good and from got and pedro pascal also was in the mandalorian.

people were praising andor for feeling slightly darker, but this feels really darker. like, hbo max darker.
and that is amazing. i so hyped.
edit again: trailer shows which games that will be in it, waits for the monster reveal at the end, shows the actors/ cinematography/ production off, all while music builds up in it's own little movie to show a horrifying tone as the trailer unfolds in a relentless pace.
just an awesome trailer. really makes me give hbo max the benefit of the doubt with all their consistent successes.

I'm generally a pessimist when it comes to adaptations of things I _love_, but the trailer certainly didn't give me any particular reason to worry. Knowing Neil is involved puts my mind at rest that it will be a respectful adaptation, I'm excited to see the story I love told in a different way. If worse comes to worst, we always have the games to fall back on so how can we lose really?

I am a huge huge fan of the The Last of Us Part 1 and 2 video games I simply can't wait for this series I think it is going to be great show. I know second one is not everyones cup of tea for me the story was absolutely fantastic just like the first one honestly I love both Part 1 and 2 equally.

Interested in the show but Idk I'd rather they explore the universe of The Last of Us with new characters instead of retelling the first game. Why I'm far more excited about the Fallout show which will showcase the Fallout universe from the view of different characters rather than retelling stories from the games.
I wouldn't. The zombie post-apocalypse survival sub-genre is waaay too saturated. Chances are it'll be better show if it follows the fantastic plot of the game than try to come up with their own.
it's gonna be told the same just open more of the story so they have already confirmed new characters like Tommy's voice actor Jeffrey Pierce will have his own role and others!
I think using the characters we know and love is a great way to start! But they can definitely expand later and follow side characters we meet along the way!
@@kybercrow True no one really plays The Last of Us for the universe rather they play for characters like Joel and Ellie. Fallout is a much more interesting and unique universe so people would just watch for the world alone and will openly welcome new characters and storylines. only thing unique to Last of Us are the Clickers end of of the day it's still a typical zombie post apocalypse world with not much to draw people away from other shows in the same genre.
I love the fact that they are using the characters we are familiar with. And one of the main reasons I love it is now more people who have no idea about this game are about to be exposed to a wonderful piece of storytelling. I’ve been telling all my family and friends that they need to watch this show.
The only thing that felt a bit off to me was the music they used for the trailer. I dunno, I love the music from the games and the trailer song didn't feel like it quite fit in. Gustavo Santaolalla is doing the music for the series, though, so I trust that it won't disappoint.
It's gonna be so weird seeing Joel and Ellie without Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson's voices too.
the song they used was in TLOU during the truck scene when Ellie and Joel got attacked by the hunters
