The girl in the carousel was Riley from the DLC. The girl in Joel's arms was Sarah his daughter. at least that's what I believe.

This maybe a picky reason but Pedro can't grow a beard like Joel in the game. He is a great actor and they've made him look simular to be fair.
I was hoping for The Rock to play as Joel. He would've filled the role perfectly, wearing the same tight-ass shirt that he wears in every single fucking jungle movie and the same fucking dull expression he never wipes from his face lol

What will be interesting is seeing the people who don't play games watching this show blind and then having the same conversations that we gamers have had about this game for years or a decade.
Sorry if you mentioned this and I just didn't hear it but another big reason that the song "Alone and Forsaken" was used for the trailer is because Joel is a very big fan of the song, it's what he and Ellie were listening to in their car ride after Bill leading into the ambush
Fun fact the infection from the game is a real thing but it only affects insects

Super excited for this show. You definitely need to check out Chernobyl before you watch this. Craig Mazin did an absolutely incredible job on that show and because of that I'm way more excited for this show too. I personally believe Chernobyl is in the top 5 shows ever created. Being able to break the top 5 with only 5 episodes is unheard of. Also if you haven't should definitely play TLOU2 soon too. Incredible game

@@MegMageReacts I think it would be great to react to. It's a short and powerful show. I've watched a lot of reactions to the show and they're always great. Especially the people who don't know all the details. It's quite dark and depressing at times though since it stays very true to the actual events and doesn't shy away from showing the worst parts. It is one of the best written and directed shows ever and is truly a must watch.
@@MegMageReacts It's a visceral master that is essentially a 5 hour epic film about the scale of the disaster and a deeply engaging analysis about its causes and effects that still resonates today. Its more than worthy of reacting to.
5:27 You should really give the mini-series Chernobyl a try, even if it's just a single episode. The ambience is incredible and captures the distressing nature of the events unfolding very well. I have high hopes for this show knowing that the same creator is involved in it, and I imagine it can give you a small taste of what's to come in terms of artistic choices.
I love Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey equally they both from Game of Thrones and they both were remarkable in GoT. For me having the mandalorian as Joel makes me even more hyped to have him for the series 😁

For a really, really good in-depth dive into Pedro Pascal's ability to act, you should watch Narcos. (All 3 seasons!) He is absolutely amazing in it. (And you will literally start drooling over him, I promise.) Also, some movies where he plays a badass are Kingsman 2, Equalizer 2, Triple Frontier, and The Great Wall.
This show looks so awesome , I've been a huge fan of The Last Of Us game for years and turning it into a HBO show is genius in my opinion and I can't wait 2023 can't get here soon enough !!! 🤘🙌🔥🔥
I only think 2 people could have played joel. Hugh jackman and Pedro pascal, I'm happy with their choice. This show looks insane. And it's from HBO, so it's safe to say it will be good.

I'm so excited for this show! I absolutely LOVE bother of the The Last Us games, and it really rose fast to my hall of favorite gaming franchises alongside Horizon Zero Dawn (Which I still haven't played Forbiddenn West yet since I'm waiting for it to release of PC ;-;), Dragon Age, Mass Effect, The Witcher, Knights of the Old Republic, and Cyberpuk. The Story is so gripping, the characters are SO GOOD, and the world is so immersive, scary, and morally complex (And so are the characters, really). I'm just so hyped for the show!

You have to watch the mandalorian too! You literally don’t have to know anything about Star Wars to watch the first season. It also has been the gateway for a lot of new people to the universe of Star Wars also Pedro Pascal is amazing in the mandalorian he’s like a Joel from space I think.
Also Bella Ramsey who plays Ellie was in game of thrones as Lyanna Mormont she was such a badass character as well as Pedro’S character in Game of thrones, Oberyn Martell. they both are great actors !

With Tess I think they could have re-casted the actress who played the character in the game, Annie Wersching. She's the age that Tess is in the game/show(around 40-50) and of course she looks like Tess(since they modeled Tess after her). Now am I saying Anna Torv is gonna do terrible, no. She could kick ass as Tess. I just don't know her work, but I'm gonna gladly give her the benefit of the doubt and wait and see.

Im 99% sure it's Tess's new actress. Sounds like her speech to Joel after he finds out she's bit. So she's speaking in a more gruff tone, probably near death.

Gabriel Luna plays Tommy in the show. I think the original actor for Tommy is playing another role in the show. Anna Torv (From Fringe, Mindhunters) is playing Tess in the show.

I am a huge huge fan of the The Last of Us Part 1 and 2 video games I simply can't wait for this series I think it is going to be great show. I know second one is not everyones cup of tea for me the story was absolutely fantastic just like the first one honestly I love both Part 1 and 2 equally.

Joel is a complicated character, with some virtues & a lot of flaws, which makes him an interesting character to follow & even see grow
But he ultimately, in a story sense, is a failed character who in the end chose to be selfish when he decided to lie to Ellie multiple times in the end (not when he decided to save her, there he only failed the world/humanity, but he does not really care about that really)
You're right Meg, it's all about Characters & their dynamics with each other & with themselves (big reason why i love the song of ice & fire books, flawed complicated characters in compmicated times & situations)
Personally i still believe that Joel is a bad & selfish person who also has the capacity for good (in the firat game, he admitted in to Ellie that he robbed & murdered a lot of innocent people -to a point where even his brother couldn't handle satying by his side i believe)
Doesnt mean that i dont understand where he is coming from or why he is a likeable person
One could argue Joel's lie was motivated by unselfish reasons. He didn't want Ellie to have to live with the BURDEN of thinking she was humanity's last hope... 😢
You haven't seen Chernobyl? You gotta watch it, it's amazing. The fact that Craig Mazin is the showrunner for this show is what got me initially hopeful when it was announced. Plus the fact that Neil Druckmann is also involved. He's gotten a bunch of hate after Part 2, but he was still a big part of what made the first game's story so good. (And I personally liked Part 2, so I have nothing but respect for him.) If this isn't going to be a faithful adaptation then I'll be very surprised. Not to imply it can't be disappointing, I'm still cautious about any video game adaptation, but the casting of Joel, the talent behind the camera and this trailer all got me fairly optimistic that it's at least going to be pretty good.

I hope the Last of Us is good. It looks good. But most adaptations are not good. If i look at this teaser. I think it is a good. Time will tell if the serie is good. Well if it is bad overall. Then i think there will be UA-cam videos about it.
Pascal is so good as Joel but Ellie don't. Maybe for the first part when she was a child its okay but for the second part I think Kaitlyn dever match Ellie perfectly or Alba Baptista but definitely Kaitlyn dever match her perfectly

I'd rather have an actress who can play the part rather than an EXACT look-a-like cast solely based on physical appearance.
