the first song through the valley is actually also taken from psalms chapter 23 and and Easter egg is that king David is the one who wrote the psalms in the bible and obviously David played a big role in the first game in Ellie’s character development

Fun fact: Ashley Johnson (Ellie) wasn't available when they shot the "alternate ending". Troy baker's wife, Pamela, was on set though. Just visiting. So Druckmann put her in a mocap suit and she serveed as a replacement Ellie body.

When that dude walked up to Ellie talking about how her dad was giving him a hard time about the patrols and then her reaction to it, I also picked up on her expression and body language. It seemed like at that particularly part of the game her and Joel aren't seeing eye-to-eye on somethings.
I agree! It’s hard to know what that would be about though. Can’t wait for the release so we can finally know what’s going on! 👏🏼👏🏼
So far there are two new enemy groups:
1. The Seraphites: the crazy, religious-cult like folks
2. The WLF: The Washington Liberation Front (I believe that a member of the WLF is called a wolf. That means, the Seraphites calling Ellie wolf mistook her for a WLF member). They are a xenophobic group based in Seattle who kill anyone who trespasses in their territory. These guys have attack dogs with them. They will fuck you up. And yes, you'll have to kill the dogs sometimes. However, it may be possible to go through the whole game without doing so.
You can now Dodge and jump attacks.
There is also a new type of infected: The shambler. It is similar to a bloater but it is much more top-heavy. And it leaves an acidic, spore cloud when attacked and also when it does which can hurt Ellie. And it is surprisingly fast.
Ellie's love interest is called Dina.
And, im not buying that Dina will die. ND has a habit of making up scenes, or really altering things to hide spoilers.
The two main areas we know about are Wyoming (where Tommy's camp is) and Seattle.
Joel probably is a bit of a loner but ia still in the community.
I'm very excited to play as Ellie. But i hope we get a section where we play as Joel (a reverse of the first game)

@@ShuffleUpandDeal32 I think it could be someone else, such as Joel. They have a havit of putting clips together in trailers that are not related just to keep people guessing. In one of the first trailers they had it so when Ellie saved Joel and shot that guy, they made it look like she was pointing it at Joel
I watched all these trailers when the game was in production. I can't tell you how excited I was when this game was announced back in 2016.
I’ve seen so many people saying it’s going to be trash because Ellie isn’t straight, and it honestly kinda pisses me off
I don't think it's THAT many people saying that honestly. Just a very vocal minority of homophobes. The game will be extremely successful, i'm not worried.
People that say that clearly has not played the DLC which is frustrating that they claim to be real fans and saying the game is ruined because of that.
@@disfatbidge2064 When the DLC came out a lot of people were saying "oh, she's not lesbian, they're just really good friends" or "Ellie doesn't know about her sexuality yet". Those people made such ridiculous excuses.

She's going after Joels killer. The "you think i'd let you do this alone" is the start of the game.

"She better not be leading the girl on." Oh crap, I didn't even consider that. What if they are playing Ellie and something bad happens leading Ellie on some revenge quest and she finds out Dina used her. That would be a good reason to get the Westworld actress to play her, and it would be a major role.
I was speaking in terms of romantically leading her on... but that would be a crazy and cool plot twist!!!

There were tons of theories that Joel here was just in her head or a ghost or something because of the way he comes out of the white light and we never really see his face.
And remember we had to wait so long for the next the trailer, lol. It was torture.
A friend of mine is still not fully convinced that Joel is alive. lol
@@bretbret8293 I would bet my good kidney that Joel is alive. Having him be dead the whole time would be trash. Druckmann has said how passionate they are about the characters and doing them justice, if he's gonna die we gotta see it happen at the same time the other characters do

@@GhostInPajamas im prety sure druckmann said that about half the game you play as Ellie with Dina as a compagnion and the other half is with Joel as a compagnion. also druckmann said that joel is a huge part of this game so i dont believe he is dead. possible he will die by the end of the game who know but not at the begining for sure

I love all the connections of this trailers to the first game, on the first trailer we see ellie playing guitar something we know she learned from Joel since he told her that when they go back to Tommy's he will teach how to play and on the last trailer we see Ellie along with the tattoo to cover her scar we see her wearing a gas mask near spores even tho she doesnt need it cuz of what Joel told her in the first game about not revealing the fact that she is immune to anyone cuz they will either think she is mad or kill her.

Definitely liking the new dynamics of the gameplay. Ellie is younger, smaller, so she should be able to do things Joel couldn't. Also wondering if there will be a section where we play as Joel just as we had a small Ellie section in the first one.

We tore these all apart looking for clues. Even before the last one (most recent), its worth realising Ellie is wearing the bracelet in the 3rd trailer that the girl was previously wearing.

@@LiteWeightGaming I'll admit I didn't see it first time myself, but it really pushes the story that Dina was hurt/killed. In fact, it pushes it so hard I would nearly put money on it that it's a giant red herring by naughty dog.

The second trailer is allegedly about Ellie’s mother: Anna.
As far as I know, it wasn’t confirmed but everything Naughty Dog has shown makes us believe it.
In the Uncharted game series (mostly the 3rd and 4th installments) you can play sections of the game as Nathan, the protagonist, when he was younger. And you keep going back and fort between memories, told on a gameplay perspective. I assume The Last Of Us 2 may have the same treatment. Perhaps Ellie’s journey is gonna reconnect her with her past at some point. But that’s just a theory I have.
... I do not think this is Ellie's mother, she was a nurse, the woman in the trailer has a top trained body and reacts like a pro! a nice thought to see her mother, but who knows?
Maby-Nice Play Maby-Nice Play there’s just to many there to think that. The fact that this woman is pregnant (when the crazy old lady is about to stab her in the stomach, she says “is nested”). The fact that when they released this trailer, Naughty Dog posted a series of posters with this new characters faces and names. But in this woman’s poster they left the name with four empty spaces to complete.
Or maybe they’re gonna surprise us and maybe it’s like Ellie’s older sister or something.
But this woman will be key in this game plot for sure.
... but honestly, the woman has a sixpack and no pregnancy belly! and she is fit as a Navy Seal! ... but I take everything that makes my game more beautiful! ..I love to read the different theories of players, very interesting!

@@Matias-cx3wg Nothing indicates that she is pregnant in the trailer. Before that we see men hanging around with slit open stomachs. We don't know why they doing this, but i don't think it's because they're pregnant. I don't think that this is Ellie's mother. This would mean that this "cult" has been around for a very long time. Ellie was born roughly 6 years after the intro of the first game when it all started. Rather, i believe that these 3 people are people Ellie will meet in the game. I don't want Ellie's mother to be such a war machine. That doesn't feel right for me.

The gameplay you watched is known as a "vertical slice". What they do is they carefully choose a portion of gameplay, cut it out of the main game, work on it until it's bug free, optimized, and pretty much perfect, and make it into its own demo that runs on a high-end gaming PC. It's for this reason we most often get graphical bait-and-switch downgrades in AAA games.
They then have one person play it over and over again until they come up with the perfect strategy, take the best run, and release it as a promo.

I think the women is not Ellie’s mom but a Member of the WLF because a Wolf was featured in the hammer poster she is in and she will be a foil to Ellie. I also think her four letter name will be Wolf.

This is one of the only games in a while I’ve been genuinely excited about. Also sad it got delayed but I know naughty dog will just make it even better by then. So, in this game you play as Ellie. Neil Drukmann said the first game was about love and forgiveness and the second one is about hate and how far would you go to vengeance the people you loved. The name of the girl is Dina and the song Ellie sing it's from Shawn James - Through the valley I think!
The game actually runs without CGI, they did this with Uncharted 4. So when it's on a cut scene and go to gameplay you don't see the difference because happens immediately.
I recommend for you to watch a video on PlayStation Channel called inside the Demo. Neil and the developers talk about all of the stuff they improved in the game, such as a dodge button, a jump button and a lot of other things!
Now it's the hard part 😢 wait until the game come out and play. Another great video as always ❤

Were you trying to cosplay as Ellies girlfriend? Similar hairstyle, eyebrows, and shirt during the dance. The game does indeed look absolutely beautiful. They really poured their hearts and souls into this sequel. I just wish it was being released like a month later or a couple weeks earlier. I only get 2 weeks to play it before FF7 remake comes out.

I’m so excited for Part 2 , I cried when I saw all the trailers :3 but it shows how much I’m excited and how much I love this game more than anything , I’m still sad that they changed the release date to 05-29-20 , but they did the same with Uncharted 4 , so not surprised lol

It’s the video I’ve been waiting for the most and I love every single one of your reactions to the trailers.
And one thing I learned from Naughty Dog is that we shouldn’t believe everything he shows us in the trailers, because in the first TLOU we were made to believe that Ellie would kill Joel but it never happened. We only know that Ellie took revenge for the death of a friend or family member, but we don’t know who that could be, but I hope it’s not Joel, that would be terrible.
Now it only remains to wait for more trailers that are sure to launch and to wait a little longer since they delayed it for the 29/05/2020, but I think that will allow Naughty Dog to give us an incredible game with good history and gameplay. I didn’t wanna comment on your newer videos since it had nothing to do with TLOU2 but I was wondering if you plan on reacting to the State of Play trailer and gameplay released for the sequel a few days ago?
Finally the reaction is here. First trailer of Part 2 was released in December 2016. So you are watching almost after 3 years. Let's break this down for you. In first trailer she is talking about killing the fireflies, you were right. In second trailer, that jacked lady could be Ellie's mom. Those murderers looks like they belong to a cult. There is gonna be some flashback story on how Zombie apocalypse occurred and what happened to Ellie's mom. This is my assumption. In the last trailer, it seems Ellie's girlfriend is killed by the group and she wants to take revenge. Linking last trailer to the first one, Ellie wants to kill every last one of them because she is mad on her girlfriend's murder. Anyway this is just my assumption. ✌️✌️

So I think someone might have already mentioned it here, but Neil Druckman has said that in the first game, the story is about love, and how far that can take someone. And in the second game, the story is about hate, and how far that can take someone. So it'll be interesting to see the juxtaposition and how it affects the characters we already know and love.
Yes! I can’t wait to see where they take us with this story! Love and hate are some of the most powerful emotions so I know we’re in for an amazing and complex story!
Just here to drop some more tlou knowledge. Not sure if anyone has gotten the time again to really sit down and think about this epic story/world told from these two amazing characters in this way.
Neil told us that the first game was about love, the essence of how far will one go to protect the one he loves, and a quote from Joel himself "No matter what, you gotta find something to fight for." he had put his whole existence on the line when he made the choice to save Ellie at the end of the first game. He finally found the bit of humanity that he lost during the first game in Ellie and couldn't bear the fact that he was again at the crossroad again of knowing that he could lose the last thing he loves and for what to save humanity, the world? If I was to put myself in his shoes, humanity was the reason why his world was the way it is a place without his baby girl. Marlene told him "Even if you get her out of here, then what? How long before she's torn apart by a pack of clickers? That's if she hasn't been raped or murdered first." let that resonate with you for a second. The trailer plays this fine line of a world that Joel has created for Ellie a safe haven that he has surrounded her within the hopes that she will never have to truly see what evil lies beyond it. But when that all comes crashing down how can you say that the Ellie we know who has finally found her thing to fight for no matter what the cost. wouldn't have charged forward to get them back just like Joel? Ellie all her life only wanted to love others and build her connections with them she never knew who her parents were and was constantly being watched by others who I would say didn't give her the love and attention she wanted and needed. Like she said before that all the people who she has ever cared for either left her or died due to protecting her (assuming) but now here we are with the facts of losing someone that she loves she isn't going to sit there and poetically lose her mind waiting for her turn to die this time. Like, father and daughter, she will take the world into her own hands and kill every single last one of them to get the ones she loves back no matter what. Joel on the other hand now has to come to grip that he can't keep shielding her from the monsters out there anymore but such a father that he is even now he can't lose her again so if she is to go so will he, even if he has to die no parent should have to bury their child, not again, not in this lifetime. Ellie plunges herself back into this broken world with Rage and Hate while Joel follows with his fatherly love of Ellie and the promise that he will not let her die to a pack of clickers or get harmed in any way by others, a choice he made the moment he pulled that trigger and killed Marlene.
Thus TLOU 2 story just like that of the first is going to be a rollercoaster of emotions, truly a masterpiece in the making so prepare yourself and go into it knowing the feelings of these characters. Let her anger and hate fuel you. I'll stop talking but yeah just wanted to spit some things ill be keeping at the back of my mind going into this game thought I'd share :D happy hunting those clickers and religious fanatics
The first time the reveal trailer was shown at State of Play we weren't told it was TLoU2, hence the crowd losing its shit at that Firefly logo. We also didn't know initially if that person with the guitar was Ellie until we saw that tuft of red hair, cue more audience freak-out. That first trailer was very well structured to hype up the fanbase.
I wish I was able to experience it like that!! The energy from the crowd was amazing!!

Yeah is Dina. I was not a big fan of her, but when I saw her real life in UA-cam reacting to the trailer I like her now. She looks just like in the game, awsome person and funny.

It's a live play of some major moments from the game being played by all the original cast that played the charachers from the game. With live music from the actual band that created the soundtrack, and Neil narrating the play

There's been more gameplay revealed there Is gonna be group that has a bunch of dogs and they'll be able to track your scent. So you have the option to kill the dog or distract them

Also, Druckmann said that the first game was about love, and this one is about hate and cycles of violence.

They both sing in characters (Ashley can sing phenomenally well, so she had to get a voice coach in order to make her singing voice uneven and scratchy to fit Ellie's voice)

The gameplay could probably be a bit condensed for the trailer, making it seem a lot more fast pace than the first. The combat does seem to have a bit more depth though.

Ugh, we were left on that first teaser for YEARS with no more references to Joel, and many theorised he was dead based on that one shot of him walking out of the white light haha. You're lucky to have been able to kind of marathon all of the trailers :)

I do have an idea for more The Last of Us content on your channel, even if you save it for a later date. There were lots of optional conversations, artefacts, shive doors, safes and lots of other stuff involving Ellie and Joel. I wondered if it may be worth asking your subscribers if there’s anything they like you to do on a second play of The Last of Us and try to do it all in a second play-through.
Also the game does let you play again with all of your upgrades, making it easier for a second play-through and allowing you to upgrade your weapons even more.
Just a thought if you wanted to play The Last of Us again to make it just as interesting or even more so than the first time.

Excellent reaction, the emotion came back to me. Have you played Uncharted? It is also from Naughty Dog, it is not post-apocalyptic but the title is pure adventure and you will love the story, like the characters, and the fourth title of Uncharted came out after The Last of Us for PS4. I recommend it

The graphics engine in this game is incredible! Do you know what engine they used? It looks like unreal engine 4! Great video as always!
Definitely not UE4. Looks too "real" for that. Seriously i think the Unreal engine is always true to its name^^
Instead they use their own engine for all of their games. Neil Druckmann said in a recent interview with gamespot that they overhauled their engine for TLOU2 completely:
"We've completely overhauled our engine, developed new combat mechanics, created a new analog stealth system, and revamped our animation system to fully express Ellie's desperation, resourcefulness, and unique agility."
