***** So when companies want to help solve issues it's a slap in the face then? Alright time to tell them to stop helping, we have to figure and solve the problems on our own.
Same happened to me, easier way is that under the disc eject button is a rubber band and after a while the rubber band begins to stretch and pull that button. just remove that band and your good :)
I had this problem almost from day one, and it got to the point where I could not use my ps4. No disc would stay in. One day, out of frustration, and after having tried every possible solution such as this one, I got angry and hit my ps4 on the top. The ps4 ejected the disc, and turned off. I thought to myself, "now I did it. I completely ruined the ps4." So, i turned it back on, put the disc in, and it hasn't given me any more problems since, lol. That was months ago. Lets see if it lasts.
Don't do this what you need to do is put the edge of your playstation off whatever surface it is on (not too far so it falls off just maybe a couple of inches) the problem is not because of the hardware it is simply because the eject button on the ps4 goes underneath the console and the surface underneath it is pushing the button causing it to eject. Worked for me never had the problem again
None of these solutions have actually worked for me in the long run. A couple days ago I figured out how to actually fix this by disabling the eject button. You've got to void your warranty, but it only takes like five minutes and isn't tricky at all. Not trying to spam, but I made a video of how to do it on my channel. Hope it helps other peeps like me who are stuck living with this stupid problem.
It troubles me that PlayStation don't even know what causes this. The problem is with the rubber foot just located underneath the eject button, if it gets moved it can shift out of place slightly and rub against the sensor (which is hyper sensitive anyway, mine switched on when I walked past it once) Simply reposition the rubber foot at the base and make sure it's not touching the sensor an you're fine.
Jirred Vang lol, if this was for the xbox comments would be 10x worse. Since its Sony, all you see is people being like, "ahhh, how nice of them to help" If this was MS, "Oh look, M$ can'[t even get their shit together". So much bias.
If you pull out the rubber piece underneath the ps4 disc eject button it fixes the problem. the rubber stand presses against the eject button making it go off continuously.
I got my White Destiny Bundle PS4 2 days ago, and it auto-ejected the disk every so often. I fixed it by removing the rubber foot under the eject button and then placing 4 3M rubber feet under the console's corners so it stands off 3-5mm of the ground and now no issues.
This happened to me about a month after PS4's release. Was pretty pissed but Sony replaced it no problem, cloud even kept my saves. The one they gave me is even covered for 2 years. Shit happens but they were really cool about it. I bet Microsoft has similar standards but I can't say first hand.
This happened to me a week after release, I just took it back in to the retailer and got a new one. Usually the temporary fix won't help. It'll will continue until it's almost impossible to play happily or even insert the disc. I'd take it for servicing rather than wasting your time.
I had this. Contacted Sony and they said to send it to them to fix. They provided free packaging and postage. Got a new ps4 within 2 weeks. I assumed it was a new ps4 since I got new cables, mic and controller. Great customer service
I KNEW IT, just like wireless controllers there became problems because of no wire, now theres a problem with discs ejecting on their own because theres no real button. Ps and Sony need to learn a little more from the 1990's when everything was not digital. WT?
Wow this video was very insightful. Thank you ign for posting this! I'm sure everyone who watched this video had the same problem and now are enjoying playing their ps4. And definitely no reason for people who have the x bone to come here and post their biased thoughts here right? RIGHT?
NO IT DOES NOT NEED TO BE SERVICED. You simply need to take the cover off the side of the PS4 and screw the manual eject screw tight. After you do that it will solve the problem. The reason for the system constantly ejecting and turning on when not on is because the maual eject screw is loose. If anybody has any question or needs further help in the process, you can add me and I can help you. J-S-M-95
I have this problem but found out it was radio interference when my dad turned his ham radio frequency to high, so my ps4 would turn on, off and eject. but why would you make touch sensitive buttons that can pick up radio frequencies?
the only thing i can say about this war is that it's pointless, at least for now. both consoles have yet to prove their potential.. so far, these two systems didn't offer enough to be considered must-buy products. just facts..
My ps4 does tend to beep at times on its own but I always thought that was normal. It doesn't eject the disc nor does it interrupt the game or anything that I am doing on it though.
So last month my brother was going to buy an xbox one, and we asked the guy in the store if we could trade it back if it had problems, the guy said we couldn't but he told us that he had bought one but he had to exchange it 3 times due to a hard drive problem. I don't if that is true or not but he saved us $400. NOT BEING A FANBOY JUST SAYING WHAT HAPPENED
That method doesn't work at all. The best method to use that is a for sure way to fix this issue (because I had this a month or two ago and feared that id have to waste my warranty) All you need is a junkdrive and put on the latest ps4 update onto it and then re-initialize your ps4 with the update. you will have to redownload everything, but at least the problem is fixed for sure.
coolest part about PS4 disc can still eject shorty after you have unplugged the power cord went to gamestop to trade it in and the guy was testing it out and when i changed my mind (i am a pc gamer but i wait 15 hours in snow and cold ass weather for a ps4 so yea :/) he took it back out and the disc actually came out when he hit the eject button and the power cord wasnt in neither of us knew it would do that
Here's what to do if you have an Xbone: Pick it up. Walk outside with it. Place it on the ground. Shoot, blow up or destroy it in any way possible. Buy a PS4.
This happened to me in December, I ended up getting a replacement, but I don't give a shit about the PS4 anymore, the Xbox One is my favourite and it's the only console I've been playing.
When i first got my ps4 i was puzzled where the power sensor was. Same for the xbox one when I got that. The ps4 power and eject are way too small, and the xbox ones power sensor doesn't even look like it's there. Took me 10 minutes to figure it out for both.
YOU DONT NEED TO DO ANY OF THIS SHIT JUST PUT LIKE A BOOK ON THE LEFT SIDE OF UR EJCT BUTTON AND ONE ON THE RIGHT. IT EJECTS CAUSE ITS A TOUCH BUTTON THAT GOES BACK ALOT IT HAPPENS CAUSE UR SURFACE IS PROB UNEVEN SO IT KEEPS GETTING PRESSED
If it was the Xbox One that was doing this IGN would have tried to over exaggerate the situation by saying it shoots the disc out at 90 mph and killed a kid as it flew out. You know, because IGN loves to crap on the Xbox.
If that does work try turning the ps4 on its side and pull the power out I've done it a couple of times now and works every time I normally leave the power off for couple hours though
SO this is how Sony and PS make more money by servicing a repair on a power button that should last 15 years with no headaches? I feel deceived really.
Step 1: Grab your Xbox One or PS4 Step 2: Throw it and yourself in the garbage Step 3: Use your time in the trash to come up with a better joke instead of repeating the same joke that literally everyone else in the comments is using .
The problem is when the eject button has dust or is dirty it will eject the disc. It happened to my xbox slime since the eject button was so sensitive.

oh my goodness thank God im not the only one, and its been happening to my ps4 since before the summer, but i did wat Sony told me when i call them back and that was to put the Ps4 in safe mode and updating the software using the internet
Time to sue Sony I was playing my game Then suddenly my ps4 shoots a disc at the speed of a bullet at my face. My face hurts, The disc is still lodged in my forehead. Its about time to go to the hospital.
You know with all the talk about throwing away your PS4 or go get an Xbox One to replace it, there's still the Wii U. Yes I know it's graphically not as good as either, but just because a game has low graphic (Though it's seriously not by much) doesn't mean it's the worst system, and yes the Wii U doesn't have many games, (Note: I said many, there are quite a few games that are pretty good) but that's because no one really is giving much attention to Nintendo. Hell Smash Brothers is coming soon so why not save up for that, eh?
I didn't have a problem before but thanks for telling me in case I do have a problem in the future. See Sony actually thinks ahead unlike Microsoft lol.
I love how upset Xbots are about their poor choice of system that they need to insult the PS4
At least sony actually gives you customer support.
PS4>ShitBox Done
The video was a slap to the face for the PS fans. At least Microsoft is replacing Xbox's that only a minor issue for FREE!

What to do if your ps4 ejects: trade it in for a better console called the xbox one.

So, the PS4 is ejecting prematurely? I hear there's a pill for that.
Reading this towards the end of 2018 I find it funny how many people were saying to get an Xbox it’s better.
If something is under the ps4's eject button it could cause it to randomly eject
At launch my ps4 turned itself off randomly. I just removed the cover and put it back on. Probably it was just not correctly on place.
What other issues does the PS4 have so far?
Have you tried turning it off and on again?
Lol so this is basically "reboot the system" with a "oh yeah and drain all the electricity by unplugging it"?
Soooo basically.... have you tried turning it on and off again?
The problem is when the eject button has dust or is dirty it will eject the disc. It happened to my xbox slime since the eject button was so sensitive.
