Well I can talk from personal experience the manual eject slot works and doesn’t I tightened it and it work for mine but not my brothers ps4 so it depends on the issue
My ps4 turned on in the middle of the night and just keept ejecting the disc, like the motors that take the disc in and out were constantly on all night
Watched first 5 mins of video, unplugged my PS4, flipped it over and saw that rubber part was basically pushing eject button. Pulled it out and restarted PS4.....all good so far. Thanks for video!
@@syphon_9892 sad thing is I had been dealing with this issue for MONTHS.....just thought my PS4 was too old (I bought on release day) and that I needed a new one. this video was a god send!
My ps4 sometimes (rarely) ejects the disc, and does the ejecting noise and doesn’t accept the disc again. I just restart the ps and all is fine but I’m scared that this problem will come back to bug me later
I used one of the plastic pieces of tape that were over my screws and put it on that rectangle and it worked lol 😂 this is like the first time in my life I’ve ever fixed an electronic myself lol thanks bro. It’s so annoying to have your disc eject in the middle of game play lol
I was really panicking, owner of a ps4 for 5 years now and I absolutely shit myself. But I’m so grateful you showed me how to fix it. Thank you so much
Thank you! Was ready for two days of playing over Christmas and it started acting up in the morning. Your video has allowed me to hide from people and enjoy my gaming. You are a gift from aliens!
I've been having this issue for about 2 years now, just coping with it cause I figured my PS4 was just getting old or something. Didn't think much of it, but it was annoying as hell. Tried this today out of curiosity and so far it's been working like a charm. I put two small pieces o a somewhat thick electrical tape, just to make sure. Thank you so much man, appreciate it.
Follow up: I do not have the tools to do the tape trick, so I stood it up on its side. At first it did not work and was still ejecting every hour so I flipped it on its other side and I haven't had any issues since the day I watched this video. So for some you might need to flip it on a specific side. Thank you so much! Save me a lot of $.
Once my ps4 ejects a disc, it keeps making the eject noise. Is something wrong with my ps4 or will these solutions solve it? I've done these methods but the problem still occurs
@@riot6508 good advice, i agree with the fact that u should buy your games digitally, however, once ur done, ur stuck with that game. You cant trade it in or get a refund, so there is one disadvantage to purchasing digitally
Keep in mind though because this is also relevant to playstation5 if you have a warranty for your console and controller if you open up either the controller or the game system it makes your warranty invalid which means you cannot send back your console to Sony if you have the warranty that allows you to do so to get a replacement if something internal happens to your console. Simply you should not open your system for any reason unless you're trying to clean it out
Performed the tape eject button fix in less than 20 minutes and, suffice it to say, it's flawless now! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for uploading!!!
Looks like that rubber strip next to the eject button is indeed the cause for that annoying ejecting of a disc. I've been owning a launch model for over five years now, and the issue was occurring more often lately. I just cut off the tip next to the eject button so it can't make contact anymore, and pushed it back in the slot. Fingers crossed that was the problem, but it seems very likely. Thanks a lot in advance, i salute you sir!
The screw is there, it's really hard to see with my model being a black plastic screw that practically hidden in low light. What I found is using a flashlight and moving the flashlight side to side (slowly) the small screw will appear slightly, looks to be black plastic but it does show up under certain lighting conditions. At the side of the HDD cage there's an slot opening to the left of the cage if you are facing the PS4 from the front, go below the metal cage along the left side of the PS4, you'll see some black venting gills. There's an upper set that all seem to be the same size, then there's a lower set, that is where you want to focus. Note: the lower vent gills are different sizes, The screw on mine is located between the two black fat gills, below and right between those two fat vent gills is a small slot. You need a very narrow phillip screwdriver to come from the top and reach the screw. The screw has a little give like spring and feels like it has a slight mechanical tension when turning clockwise which is suggested in turning. Mine never actually tightened so much, although it was a lot looser before I began turning it for about a minute of revolutions. Good Luck!
In case you don't have the Torx for Security Screw, just use your regular Torx, they pin in the middle of the screw is easily breakable and then you can use the regular Torx normally!
Thanks. My problem was the little rubber piece on the bottom. By the eject button. I would press on the bottom part and it was enough to make it eject. If you don't want to pull the little strip of plastic off, they sell these small rubber feet at most stores and you can stick them on the bottom. It's high enough so there isn't any pressure on that plastic piece. I wouldn't have bothered looking at the small piece of plastic if it wasn't for this vid. Thanks again, hope everyone has an easy fix as well
LoL.... Wont fix it trying to eject disc that Are not in there... and I never had A disc in it... just rib out the disc drive power.. just as good A solution.. works when u only do digital games :-)

What I can say to this is that some games will always cause this e.g.. The Witcher 3 while others don't e.g. most others. Sometimes it would even do it when I had it positioned horizontally with non-disc games which is just absurd. Putting it vertical has solved it unless I want to play The Witcher 3 which I frustratingly do want! Sony does this (in my opinion) to make us feel like something I'd wrong so we have to pay money in the PlayStation store to play games as they are expensive

my PS4 is standing and still always reject the disks it is doing it more often now and it is fucken annoying please have a real solution I will keep watching
ABOUT THE PS4 EJECT ERROR with the first PS4 model. When I noticed this happening with my PS4 I couldn't believe it, that a disc at random may eject out and I though to myself so this is the next error problem with consoles. Is there any possible chance that this eject error was made intentionally by a member of Sony to sell more newer model consoles that way? If so that would be criminal. If not at all possible, sometimes newer tech is not worth it. All those problems with wireless controllers and now the eject error. I think it would be better if Sony brought back wired controllers and press the button to open the lid to place the disc on tray consoles. I never had a problem with them except for that dang analogue stick permanently bending forward.
Try this first. Take an old tooth brush and clean the eject button in front and underneath. Mine kept ejecting and I tried everything short of disabling the button. I found that after scrubbing out the dust next to the button then powering it off and starting it back up again it has not done it again. It has been stable for weeks now. If all else fails take 4 rubber washers and put them in the corners underneath the playstation. This will lift it a bit further from the surface and prevent it from interacting with the surface underneath. Same effect as having it stand upright.
Mine had a screw in the side and that worked tightening it, so far. Thanks man. If it starts doing it again soon and the screw is slightly loose again I'll know it'll just keep happening. If it takes a while to loosen I might just lightly tighten that screw every two weeks or something.
I know this is a 6 year old video. But I just recently started having random ejections from mine. Not when I'm in a game, but after Turning it on or restarting. Your ps4 looks to be the same model as mine and I can confirm there is a screw there. It was through a redit post and different video that I found the screw solution and it worked for me. The issue is its a black on black hard to see and reach location so definitely use a flashlight. It should be 4.5-5 inches along the side vents inside one of the vent holes.
This is pissing me the fuck off. I cursed Sony while grabbing my nuts. I got a refund for a game I got on eBay thinking the game disc was fucked but now I see it is my ps4! Great now I got bad karma. This is some fucko shit.

my PS4 is standing and still always reject the disks it is doing it more often now and it is fucken annoying please have a real solution I will keep watching
It worked..i opened my ps4 for cleaning then the button has stop working .. Thanks a lot you save my a** 💌
ABOUT THE PS4 EJECT ERROR with the first PS4 model.
This lad deserves a thumb's up
And this is why the internet is good BREXIT
Where did you get your tools from?
IS IT POSSIBLE some online crooks sent a VIRUS to PS4 consoles that caused this ridiculous auto-eject disc problem?
This was very helpful even if ur warranty has expired already
I tightened the screw and took the plastic off and stood it up sideways and it worked
Crazy after all the videos, I found the one to fix it. Thank you kind sir
I pulled out tge rubber and inserted again under ps4 and it actually worked yay
I simply removed the rubber strip on the bottom and it seems to have worked for me, thank you.
Yo thanks so much man. This was soooo helpful. Subbed 👍🏼👍🏼
Aye man, i really appreciate that. The first solution worked!
I think my ps4 is ejecting disc is that I put it in a place where it gets hot and it just ejects disc randomly
Mine had a screw in the side and that worked tightening it, so far. Thanks man. If it starts doing it again soon and the screw is slightly loose again I'll know it'll just keep happening. If it takes a while to loosen I might just lightly tighten that screw every two weeks or something.
Damn you talk way too much
Lmao ikr
He’s just tryna help? What’s with the negativity

I just went ahead and sold it and got a slim...but good vid man 👍
Oh man! Just tried this, its a perfect fix. I appreciate this man!
Thanks, man I tried so much methods but this is the only one that worked :):)
I stuck a dvd or game under the front so it's not flat up at the front worked a treat so far 5 days no disc ejecting
Thank you so much dude, it worked for me this solution
This is pissing me the fuck off. I cursed Sony while grabbing my nuts. I got a refund for a game I got on eBay thinking the game disc was fucked but now I see it is my ps4! Great now I got bad karma. This is some fucko shit.
Thx, the rubber band method worked for me👌(before I did it I turned off my ps4)(*it works*)
