Great video, just the right amount of chat and a great pace to walk round at. I’ve never seen so many spotless and shiny cars there, i have been several times before but don’t remember so many shiny engine bays, wheels, brake calipers, it was amazing. You saved me about £125 and i could sit in comfort in my front room just viewing. I liked the deep blue mk3 cortina early on and i saw a deep purple car somewhere, i’d have to go back and have another look, loved the colour I’m off to watch your ford show video now, many thanks
27:57 You guess correctly! 13" wheels, Single SU Carburettor, manual choke, mono-tone paint (at this point in production, all other models had duo-tone paintwork with grey under the side trim). Thank you for featuring it and thanks for the video. It's amazing how much you can miss when attending such a massive show.
@@jackscott8931 No problem. Your car is absolutely stunning. I am maybe a little biased as I love all things Austin Rover but that is beautiful. I purchased one of the last 3 door 214SEi's in green over grey. 1.4 twin cam 103ps and loved it. But... Your base spec is very much a worthy survivor.
Glad you liked it. Yes, it stands for Automotive Design and Development which was a company in Southampton which produced the first (Mk1) Novas. Business later moved to Nova Sports Cars in Mirfield, West Yorks, where a small number of Mk1’s were produced before they ‘progressed’ to the Mk2, which had 2” more headroom, but lost the aesthetic appeal of the ‘nostrils’ on the bonnet and air scoops on the front valance. I’ve got a Mk2 (one of only 3 road legal ones in Scotland) and am trying to change its appearance to make it look more like the original Mk1 😉🤣 … I know Ed who owns the one at the show, and took him for a run in mine when he was up in Scotland earlier this year, but I’ve still to see his in the flesh … can’t wait! 👍
Excellent. Love to learn more about any make of car. I have never seen one before but they are as you say rare. Good luck with getting yours to look more like the MK1.
Excellent coverage indeed . I was there last year and it was more luck than judgement to get from one hall to another without getting lost ! There were too many favourites to pick a favourite !
Thanks. Yes too many. Although I did love the white Pug 106 Rallye. Very busy and I did miss some stands as I was too busy trying to dodge people. Thanks for watching and your support.

I agree with you about preferring the resto show in March. It seemed a lot busier yesterday than your filming, so I presume you must have got in before 10am to get some filming done before the crowds?
I was told after filming that the legend Russ Swift (remember the Montego advert? Link to a video of Russ in action below) was at the show. Whilst filming I didn't notice (as I am looking at cars not faces) that Russ is caught on film at 27:10 sitting behind his lovely Jaguar 100 on the Pride of Ownership stand. 🤦♂️ Video is here: ua-cam.com/video/LK-KoSDuFFI/v-deo.htmlsi=PvAG9N0nZQU7tV7_ ua-cam.com/video/LK-KoSDuFFI/v-deo.htmlsi=PvAG9N0nZQU7tV7_
Thanks. The Morgan Sports Car Club is on the list of stands. Unfortunately I missed a small number as it is a huge show and I am looking for the easiest route past people whilst trying to make sure I don't miss anything.
Hello absolutely loved this video but just a little hint..please explain more about the DKW club, very unique cars, 2 stroke 3 cylinder post war 60yr old..❤❤
@@frangibb7026 thanks. I would like to and do so for every stand I look at but my knowledge lacks. If I could find someone on each stand to give a quick chat on camera that would be good.
This is the problem the classic car community has. How to bring more young people into the mix. Unfortunately, what new cars today are likely going to become classics? If the answer is 'none' then this will also be a big part of the issue.
@@LivetoDriveUK Totally agree, let’s just enjoy what we have! I couldn’t go this year as I’ve just had my right hip replaced. Thanks for the great video, which sort of made up for me not getting there👍
I don't think it's so clear cut. The car clubs I am in frequently ask how we can bring more young people into the mix. For most people, not all, there is a connection between your past and the car. It is that reason why pre war car values are so low (with a few exceptions) with 80s & 90s cars going up in value.
I'm glad that i can no longer afford to go , the cars are all too new fo me , When I first started going in the 1980's there were lots of people turn up in old cars but the last time went in my Morgan I did not see any other old cars in the car park , perhaps people like looking but no longer driving classic cars .
It is an interesting one. There were some older cars there but agreed the numbers were low when compared to later models. It would be fascinating to see the data of the different age groups of visitors. I believe we are on the downward slope of what will have been the 'golden era' of classic cars and their passionate enthusiasts. There are unlikely to be many post 2000 cars that will be seen in the future as classic and although there are some younger people coming into the love of classics, the reducing newer models that will be considered as a classic, along with older people no longer being with us, will, in my opinion, only reduce the interest. I personally don't see how there will be shows like this in 30 years time. I hope I am wrong. The couple of clubs I am in are constantly looking at how they can attract younger people. One of the main reasons that values of most pre war cars are low is because people who have memories of either owning one, or had older relatives who did, are often no longer around. This is the main reason that 80s & 90s cars are currently going up in value.
