it is so time to see this, Frieren undoubtely marked a new standard, especially for fantasy anime, but in general as well. The greatest part about it is the storytelling for sure, there's not a single useless sentence in this show, just a masterpiece.
Agreed, modern masterpiece. We also have Spice and Wolf back! Frieren and Spice and Wolf are very different, but they also appeal to the same audience. We're living in a new golden age of fantasy anime with both of them
@@HaibaneRakka571 maybe i'll check the remake, i'm honestly not too keen to watch it now cause i already watched the original twice, but maybe in a year or two i'll see how they performed.
I think "new standard" might be a tad optimistic. There have been plenty of Anime - or entertainment media in general - as good or better than Frieren, either in writing or animation or both (Violet Evergarden comes to mind). Every time people have touted it as "the new standard" only for it to be forgotten 5 months later, and business going back to usual. Frieren is absolutely a well animated and well-written show. But you probably shouldn't get your hopes up that it'll change anything for future shows going forward. Animation studios will do what they do, and sometimes that'll turn out to be something amazing, sometimes it won't. That's just the way of things. Sorry for the negativity.
People been mentioning that the studio is Madhouse but I think the biggest credit should go to the director, Keiichirou Saitou. This is the same person that turn a 4-Koma manga into AOTY, Bocchi The Rock.
First they make you like a character so much you genuinely feel sad when they die. And then there's four episodes of the animation team just *constantly* flexing. "Yes we could have done this with 3d, but we hand animated it, because we could"
For any new people watching this reaction: a fun drinking game would be take a sip every time he says "Fearin" instead of Frieren, but you'll get wasted every episode lol So go for it if that's your goal.
The thugs in the bar are not actually thugs... Remember how old fern is and how little experience she has dealing with people other than heiter and frieren. From her perspective those adventurers and everyone in the smokey bar are all thugs and ruffians. Every shot from her perspective is darkened faces and mean looks. When the camera angle changes to frieren's perspective, they're just a bunch of adventurers. Even their facial expressions are a lot softer and more normal.
Indeed, and more than that - people tend to forget this, but Frieren is essentially an Adventurer herself. These are kinda her people; she must be reasonably used to dealing with adventurers.
I don't know if anyone else noticed but the reason the time jump is so long but the scene is short is because it's from Frieren's point of view. 50 years is pretty much nothing to her.
Damn, am I the first to do it?! Because most frieren reaction channels have a german speaker in the comment section, who translates the german words that are user as the characters names. If you interested, here the early episode main characters and what they translate to: Frieren=freezing/to be cold Himmel=depending on the context heaven or sky Heiter=cheerful but in an adapter form can also be understood as being drunk Eisen=iron Fern=distant Stark=Strong
Mans skipped the ending on the first epiosde? I know I'm a month late, but NAAAAAH. How could you do that to yourself? THe ending hits way fuckin different after that first episode
Another reactor who missed Fern reading the Magic History Tome, while sitting on the back of the wagon at the end of the episode with Quall. Why do so many people miss that.

World building in frieren is unmatched, 15min in with HIM and you already feel like a part of their journey. The ost are crazy good too.
You're the first reacter I've seen who got excited for sour grapes. I love them too, and nobody's gonna diss my sour grapes!
I love sour fruit included sour apples!
9 minutes, it took them 9 minutes to get you so attached that Himmel dying hurt.
brilliant show.

Elves live thousands of years, dwarves, a few hundred, humans, same as us.
My man knows about checking the mimic chain lol, sadly Frieren never seems to learn that lesson
Yes sir!! Just wack em all too
1% chance of a grimmoir
Frieren is the typical gacha addict. She already saw the 1% so she decided to put everything into seeing that 1% again.

the priests at my Grandmas church went to the same tavern as my Grandpa 😄
Qual created a new anime trophe : "The Powerful Mid-Boss that become Lvl 1 Enemy"

already finished but still emotional watching from the start

謝謝!
Thank you!!
Welcome to Frieren....it's gonna hit different
Madhouse studio animated this anime and Studio Bind animated Mushuko tensei

16 minutes first episode....we all had to deal with it. ..suck it buttercup... .we're all doing that
Good pick to watch bro, very good pick
Hieter was 96...he's good...he was worried about Fern.
He was older than that. Heiter died 84 years after their adventure began, so assuming he was about 18-20 when it began then he died at 102-104.
after watch frieren for 15 eps ,you should rewatch yoasobi first op full with read the lyrics
Nice one
The studio is MadHouse, so it is not the same studio as mushoku tensei.
Name is pronounced “free-ren “ with a bit of a German roll for the “R” section
💀 thank you I had a feeling I was mispronuncing her name
It was a great anime it really is. Say you need to make more reaction videos of Fairy Tail OVA's please would want to see more OVA.
We will
Oh XD "THE OVA's" I know why you want to see them XD 😂😂😂❤

In Freiren world: i think Dwarf life is around 300-400 and Elf is Thousands
are you in a hurry or why does the video run so fast? It´s unable to watch the own version simular,
