currently playing through the game for the first time on very hard mode. at like 12:40 seconds or so when choc says “i dont know how im surviving on 1 heart” my first thought was just “welcome to my world” im committed to finishing the game on very hard mode going in blind and there is nothing anybody can do to stop me
fun fact: in level 2, you can fight the guardian. you can deflect lasers, and if you kill it, it auto-ends the mission for you. (you can also kill the molduga, but all you get is a comliment from urbosa) also, I feel like the talus enemies are just held together by magic, so they can just let go of a part on demand. they swing their arm like a foxtail, then let go of it.
I actually wanted to see if I can actually kill the Guardian in chapter 2 in the demo because I killed a lot of them in botw and my thought process is "Ok, so these guys are menaces in AoC too, huh? Ok, so am I bitch, let's go" Yeah uh, after I found out you CAN actually beat them, it was over for me. I just grinded that chapter for "ages" until the full game came out and it worked wonders for me.
I was gonna say the exact thing. Another fun fact is you can stop the guardian completely if you play right and strategically only go for legs. It takes ages though and 95% of the time it dies first.
It's a fantastic game let down by hardware. If nothing else, I want a "switch 2" just to have this game not run a 15FPS near the end. Or at 5 when playing on co-op and you have Teba there.
Imagine if Age of Calamity gets online multiplayer, and some new player who just booted up the game gets thrown into the same lobby as someone who’s been playing from launch, and the new player literally cannot get any kills.

The timeline shift is a little disappointing since it could’ve been really interesting to have a Zelda game where it just ends with a loss, but the new split did allow for some great moments so I’m not too mad
I'm mainly dissapointed they didn't add Donkey Kong to this game as a playable character, being such an important character from BoTW, I get he's not 100 years old but they could've brought him back with the time traveling and all

Age of Calamity Is one of my favorite games ever, second to only smashbros, so im glad you liked it to. I also like it that, when playing the game for the first time its easy to know nothing, but after 100% the game you can play so well and combat is a cakewalk. And just learning everything to play optimal is fun
So I finally had the time to watch this whole thing… and here’s a fun fact I don’t know if choc ever realized. Link wielding the master sword can literally cut through the malice clones like a hot knife to butter. So never use any other weapon after obtaining the master sword. It’s pretty op.

I know I might be stating the obvious with this comment but i think my favorite part of this game is how it uses the Hollow Champions to frame how powerful the Master Sword is in canon, like, it's literally Evils Bane, it should be fully capable of demolishing ANYTHING standing with Ganon. And it shows very plainly how powerful it is, especially in contrast to whatever weapon you were using at the time.

Yeah it "awakens" and gets a damage boost when fighting Guardians or other Malice-infested things. That's how it worked in BotW too.
