I just realized that both Link AND Zelda saved each other by reaching out in a moment of desperation. Both times there was a bright and powerful glow reacting to their emotions and desperation to save the other. I'm gonna go cry now i love these two sm.

This is an alternate story, which means that it isn't cannon, cannon would be Breath of the Wild and now Tears of the Kingdom of course (the main series, the franchise of Zelda and its story) and the events that ocurred before Breath of the Wild, Age of Calamity explains some things and fall of places from before Breath of the Wild because it is set in the same world with the same characters, but the story in general isn't cannon, for example the champions don't die, others die when they shouldn't die, some things aren't real nor ever ocurred 100 years before Breath of the Wild, here they also solve it and it all doesn't go to hell nor they almost lose completely like in Breath of the Wild, and with this Breath of the Wild and its events couldn't exist.
Maybe it could be another timeline, but do we know that? Is that a sure thing? Is it confirmed?

@@Slowbro326ell the time loop between botw and totk makes it pretty much impossible for AoC to exist. The calamity in BOTW lasted for over 100 years, weakening the seal, causing gloom to spill out and Zelda going down to investigate with Link. In AoC, they prevented the prolonged damage from the calamity, which made it so the seal was still intact, which means that Zelda and link would never go down to investigate the gloom, Zelda wouldn’t travel back in time, Rauru would not know about the future, he wouldn’t place the seal, ganon would be victorious, which means that there would be no manifestations of any calamities, making AoC not exist at all.
TL;DR Zelda would never travel back in time after AoC, so the time loop doesn’t exist, nor does the calamity or that timeline

1:42 I love how in a lot of cutscenes like this, they will show that the character is listening to the other by having them nod their head, like, "Ah, yes I see."
Link is clearly listening intently to Zelda, but he is just staring at her straight. He has NO idea what she is talking about. 😂 He's here for it, but head empty.

7:46 Anyone else find it an interesting choice to have him touch her arm here? It's fast and subtle, but aside from grabbing her hand to pull her around when guarding her, Link doesn't touch her. It is very clearly a placating motion, just a little, "don't worry, I'm here," sort of gesture, but far more casually intimate than anything else in the game. It's sweet. 😊
These two are so fiercely devoted to each other I can't take it.
It's hard to act cool in front of your love interest when there's a little Robot angrily antagonizing you for pushing it.

I love how this game was able to give everyone even more personaluty and moments for their characters. Especially link. Its nice to see him be a person and be goofy.
Since the sequel of Breath of the Wild is now called “Tears of the Kingdom” (aka BOTW2), I hope we get more Zelink moments like this.
SPEAKING of TOTK (aka Tears of the Kingdom, aka BOTW2, aka Sequel to Breath of the Wild), Link got his new power arm, it makes me wondering, what about the Champions's powers? (Mipha's Grace, Daruk's Protection, Revali's Gale and Urbosa's Fury) like, what are we gonna do with them?

I really adore this Zelda and Link especially how we see their relationship evolve and gow close they were. Yes we saw clips in BotW and the ones so far ive seen for TotK on how close they are but AoC really showed it. Even if its an alternate universe its still just adorable 😊

They might of. In the Japanese version of Link’s personal journal, he describes how he is desperate to save her after regaining all of his lost memories. Mostly he wanted to see her smile again.

@@ritareeves162 Me too. And I do hope the Age of Calamity timeline is canon. If you play Ocarina of Time, it creates into two separate timelines that leads up to Windwaker and Twilight Princess. Time travel has been part of the Zelda lore.

this is something i've always wondered but, why is it that the cutscenes from AoC look WAYY better than the cutscenes in BotW? i mean they look so pretty! also great video btw :)
I think botw has a soft coloring while aoc is more bold colors! Both have slightly different coloring and style but it's mostly the same
remember, botw was developed for the wiiU and upscaled for the switch, AoC was developed entirely for the switch
Cuz Koei Tecmo co-developed it, they have some really good mo-cap

Yes. I believe the little robot time-travels back to change things, which results in a time split. Which is ironic, considering that Breath of the Wild was meant to merge all the timelines before it. But hey, I guess the writers are fans of DC.

To be honest, I think Nintendo should place hints that a mysterious event took place thousands of years previous that reset everything back to Ocarina of Time, erasing all the three timelines we knew, and a brand-new, singular timeline was created, which had similar events from the three previous timelines occurring but differently. It's a lot better than merging the timelines, and would allow Nintendo to have a lot more creative freedom.
