Love your reactions. You’re quickly becoming one of my favorites. If you’re really in the mood to hear Chris Cornell really give you some Incendiary vocals, check out his side band called Temple of the dog, check out the song say hello to heaven. He’s got soul to burn!
Soundgarden is very underrated. Check out “The Day I Tried To Live”. Chris Cornell had a nearly 4 octave vocal range. That’s Opera singer status. His lyrics were amazing.
You could tell the studio mic couldn't handle his high range. Chris talked with a higher pitch and lighter tone so it makes sense that's how he can sing so high. Love him. 💘
My man you've just been grunged by Chris Cornell.one of the best vocalist in rock history and for you doing this I just subscribed thank you.been listening to them and Chris from the begining
Soundgarden is my favorite band of all time and watching you enjoy them so much, for the first time, made it feel like I was reliving my first time. So rad. Thanks :)
Kinda like that nineties grunge sound? Soundgarden is one leg of the four-legged stool of the great bands of Grunge, along with Pearl Jam, Nirvana, and Alice In Chains. And all four of those singers had amazing voices...Eddie Is the only one still with us......
People always leave out Mark Lanegan and Screaming Trees! Dollar Bill, Nearly Lost You, All I Know, Julie Paradise, Shadow Of The Season etc are all fire
That's the G.O.A.T right there!!! You gotta check out Soungardens song Fresh Tendrils !!!!!!! A certified BANGER!!! Some other awesome songs of his from different stages of his career... - Audioslave ...Light My Way - Temple Of The Dog ....Times Of Trouble - Solo......When I'm Down He literally has dozens....humdreds....of incredible songs
You have to hear more like Rusty Cage, Fell on Black days, and The day I tried to live. The lyrics are a little dark but the singing and musicianship is top notch
Chris Cornell was in Sound Garden, Audio Slave, Temple of the Dogs and solo. He had a roommate named Andy who was the Singer for Mother Lovebone. Andy died from an overdose. The band replaced Andy with Eddie Vedder and they changed the name of the band to Pearl Jam. Chris wrote an album worth of songs, some about Andy and recorded the album with the surviving members of Mother Lovebone and their new singer Eddie Vedder. They called themselves Temple of the Dogs. You have to listen to Hunger Strike. Chris and Eddie's voices together is out of this world.
Chris was also the lead singer of Temple of the Dog (Pearl Jam + Chris) and Audioslave (Rage Against the Machine + Chris - Zack). My all time favorite vocalist. If you like those driving riffs you need to hear "Cochise" by Audioslave.
Chris Cornell has (in my opinion) the greatest hard rock voice of all time. He is the GOAT. Check out his solo stuff and Audioslave along with more Soundgarden. You won't be disappointed.
Thank you for your respect to this legendary track. I love Chris Cornell. His music saved my life. You have brought back important, healing memories with this. Again; thank you. Much respect.
Chris Cornell is a phenomenal voice, lyricist, awesome men! :D He did solos albums, and with bands; Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, and Audioslave, my favorite
The Grunge sound was a backlash to Reaganomics and the fake 80s. TV showed uplifting nonsense, while 1/2 the population including Chris Cornell From Seattle, were poor and destitute! There 2nd hand clothes ,sweats with holes and flannel shirts became a freaking style! Chris Cornell was Diagnosed with Bipolar, and clinical depression. So his lyrics really tell you what he was going through. Heroin was also A very important factor. Interesting enough they all would say Heroin was more a symptom then the problem! Like Prince, Chris was being heavily medicated by a physician during on and off lapses with Recovery. He was on a medication with a side effect of thoughts of suicide if over taken. NO ONE KNOWS WHAT CHRIS REALLY FELT WHEN HE TOOK HIS LIFE! But this song tells you decades earlier he was outshined.
You seem like such a nice guy. And it warms my heart to see that you truly took in his talents and honesty felt them. I've found solace in his music since I was 14.(38 now) for your own benefit, look into all of his music, soundgarden, Audioslave, and just his solo work. I was fortunate to have seen him in person the May before he passed. A fonder memory for me to cherish♡. I love reaction videos. Especially when someone hasn't heard the band before. I have a request. Please do a video with the band 'Blue October' and the song 'Fear'. Justin, the singer and writer is an amazing experience of self growth and overcoming barriers in life. He's struggled with mental illness his whole life and is very open about it, in hopes to help other. We lose so many to mental illness. And that is how we lost Chris Cornell. I'll follow your page, hope you see my request. ♡ Be safe and Be well♡
Soundgarden is awesome.💖Chris Cornell💖 I feel lucky I got to see him play live before he passed. His first solo album Euphoria Morning is perfection, especially "Preaching the End of the World."
One of the best Soundgarden songs. You picked a great one for a first listen. For Chris Cornell songs I would pick hunger strike by Temple of the Dog. Cochise by Audioslave. Also, Moon Child, Steel Rain, Or I Only Love You When Im Down off of his solo album Euphoria Morning.
My favorite rock singer. Check him on "Say Hello to Heaven" by Temple of the Dog or "Steel Rain" from his first solo album. "Black Hole Sun" was Soundgarden's biggest hit (deservedly). RIP Chris.
That Chris Cornell was special. Miss him, Layne Staley, Chester Bennington, Scott Weiland! Please check these guys out. Fronts for some very worthy bands. All gone now. Can't replace them. RIP
Absolutely. I saw AIC with Soundgarden here in Manchester England in 92. Never knew what impact these folks would have on me.. I cried over two famous people in my life.. Chris Cornell and David Bowie..
Chris Cornell man, took his own life couple years ago. I still haven't got over it, cuz I just don't understand it. I'm sure it's my ignorance that makes me not understand. But I watch and listen to his voice everyday cuz it was one of the greatest
It's funny. I wouldn't have picked this as your first Soundgarden or Chris Cornell, but it rocks! So many more to pick from. If you're sticking with Soundgarden I'd recommend Fell on Black Days or Spoonman. Peace
If you like Soundgarden, you'll love early Black Sabbath. They were heavily influenced by the early, riff-driven Sabbath sound of the 70s. And seeing you like drums, Bill Ward is an absolute monster on drums for Sabbath. Start with War Pigs.
War Pigs live from Paris, Not the Fan created Video--ua-cam.com/video/K3b6SGoN6dA/v-deo.html Bill Ward beat those drums like they owed him money, or fooled around with his mom or sister
I’ve been listening to this song for over twenty years and I had NO CLUE he was saying “looking California, feeling Minnesota” and you picked it up on the first listen. Good ears man!!!
Forget all the other Soundgarden suggestions because this ua-cam.com/video/viz5Y9ZQEFY/v-deo.html = Soundgarden seattle 1992 beyond the wheel is something you will never forget once you see it.
nice to see you appreciate Chris' vocals (and that snare drum, haha). Let Me Drown, 4th Of July, Holy Water, Gun and Limo Wreck are my favs. I've been listening to Soundgarden since 1989. Jesus Christ Pose and Black Hole Sun will probably get you the most views though as they were popular videos.
That 80s Rock voice with the 90 s grunge sound.....haha...yeah...that's exactly what drew us to this song when it came out in 1991. 80 s rock turned into ballad central by 91...then this song, and other grunge songs came out that put some edge back into the music for a brief while.
Ha thanks for that!!!! I now feel like I am shining...... and I can see that you are shining..... so I guess that's kinda ironical. A little part of my heart darkened when we lost Chris.
Recovering alcoholic..... IM FEELING LIKE IM SOBER EVEN THOUGH I'M DRINKING..... I CANT GET ANY LOWER STILL I FEEL IM SINKING. You can hear his intimate struggle in every song he sings. Definitely so relatable to many of us. NEVER GIVE UP.... KEEP FIGHTING YOUR DEMONS.
RIP Chris Cornell. Soundgarden were one of the best and for sure his voice is gold. I'm really loving your reactions. I have some recommendations for amazing bands from the 80s and 90s to check out. They all very different, but great in their own ways! 80s- INXS, Duran Duran, B-52s 90s- Smashing Pumpkins, Stone Temple Pilots. There are plenty of others but that's a good place to start.
Jay Rah....I know I have said it before, but it is great to see you expanding your music knowledge and diving into the lyrics as well. Always enjoy your stuff and keep...."Doin da do"
Favorite song from my favorite album from my favorite band. Such a joy to see folks listening to it for the first time and LOVING it! Listen to the album version though! It's linger and BETTER!
This what introduced me to Soundgarden.. It was on a game called road rash on the mega drive. Yeah..I'm that old. So glad a young lad like yourself is listening to Chris and his epic voice and band.. Stay safe my friend..
I here ya. He has that gritty powerful vocal style but its paired with music that is in itself gritty, powerful and dirty as hell. 90s baby. Check out Alice n Chains, Rage against the machine, Tool, Stone Temple Pilots ect.. along with Soundgarden they all released their first albums around the same time. Early 90s. Best era for music in my opinion. Humbly
This is early 90’s “grunge” Seattle Sound. Soundgarden was very diverse in their sound from album to album in the 90’s. This is off Badmotorfinger. Not a bad song on it. Try Slaves and bulldozers. Best rock voice of all time, Chris Cornell
OMG and one os my all time favorite Grunge bands of all time Soundgarden ! You would make my day if you did a reaction video to this song called "Renegade" by Hed P.E
Damn. Just came across your channel! Huge soundgarden fan (and actually just did a video myself on blackhole sun). I loved your genuine reaction and enthusiasm! Outshined is such a banger! Felt it deep when you were looking up Chris Cornell, like was so bummed you were about to find out he passed a few years back. Excellent video my man. Got a subscribe outta me! And I'll throw a recommendation your way, Every Time I Die the song Map Change. Keep up the great work!
yes....check out Audioslave 'show me how to live' official video.... audioslave is basically Rage against the machine with Chris cornell instead of Zack
The cover was actually Prince’s Nothing Compares 2 U. Amazing singer. Should check out some more from Soundgarden and his other bands, audioslave and temple Of the dog.
Correction: it wasn't Purple Rain Chris covered it was Nothing Compares To U
Bro you gotta check out his billie jean cover

Chris Cornell. One of the best (if not THE best) vocalists in rock history. RIP
The best
Second best to Staley
@@michelangelotroccoli7748 In your opinion yes I can understand a lot of people preferring Layne to Chris but Chris has a superior vocal range
So is Freddie Mercury in a different category? Cuz he's my vote for absolute best rock vocalist ever with no offense to Chris intended, RIP.
@@seanfromyt I'm a bigger Layne fan than chris...but Chris def had more range....Layne had more emotion

Actually he could hit 5 octaves according to a vocal expert Regardless He's one of the greatest
You could tell the studio mic couldn't handle his high range. Chris talked with a higher pitch and lighter tone so it makes sense that's how he can sing so high. Love him. 💘
Chris Cornell without a doubt one of the greatest voices of all time. Dude could hit 5 octaves...
I've watched this video a dozen times over the last couple years. Love it!

If you like this, try Rusty Cage.
Also, Johnny Cash covered Soungarden's Rusty Cage.
Rusty cage on Later live Jools Holland is epic
@@Krust_Acean And Johnny Cash's band for that album was Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. A legend, backed by legends covering legends.
My favorite Driving song! Speeding ticket every time..
Chris was one of the best R&R vocalists and will be forever missed.. R.I.P. Chris Cornell...
