- We decided it was time to sip on some Poor Man's Pappy! Combining a Weller 12 and Weller Antique 107, this concoction is suppose to emulate Pappy 15. What could go wrong?!

The 60/40 blend originated on the Straight Bourbon forum years ago as an alternative to W.L. Weller Centennial,10 year 100 proof and long discontinued. Weller Centennial will likely run you $3 to $4k now. The "Poor Man's Pappy" reference came later.
I made at least 3 full bottles of this before the Weller 12 all but disappeared in my area as a shelf bottle.
Great info! Insane prices for that bottle. Maybe someday we will see Weller 12 show back up 🤷🏻♂️
I’d go cheaper with Larceny BP and MM cask strength. Same effect but cheaper.

Really didnt like the 12 i had, so i made the PMP and must say, they compliment each other very well. Really good mix
It’s wasn’t bad in our opinion. Just didn’t live up to some of the hype we had heard years ago!
Having had both, this is nowhere near Pappy 15
We haven’t tried pappy 15 but this wasn’t really even as good as our old rip to be honest.
I don’t have access to any Weller here. Id love a 107 eventually.
107 is actually the bottle we never see in our area. Ever.
Did you give it a couple weeks to combine properly? In my experience it needs those few weeks and it will be better.
We did not. We actually mixed up a second batch to let rest and we haven’t tried it yet!
While this blend is good, it doesn't taste like Pappy 15. I say that having had both this blend and Pappy 15
