„I can’t help myself“ is such a nice detail
How he says "you can't counter it" is the best
Try that with Rick from Pawn stars Not a penny more haha
How is it the best? You people are getting excited about mundane things because it's in a movie

i love that the pedestrians actually notices that it happens, usually everyone is blind in action movies
depends on the city...NY, Chicago, Baltimore, etc they don't bat an eye. You can watch actual muggings, beatings, and woman getting punched out and nobody even looks in the direction.
This isn't an action movie
Man I love Texas. Anytime anything like that happened somebody always stepped up@@sasquatch2753
You gotta know when to hold ‘em, know when to fold ‘em, know when to walk away and know when to run.
Rick from Pawn Stars: I got a few of these sitting around, it will take me time to sell it, I will give you $500 and that's my final price.
It appraises at $6000 but I can only do 30% of that.
500? You've seen pawn Stars right Rick would offer him like $200.
I’ll give you $750 and half of my snickers bar…. that’s the best I can do. I got to make money too!

Sort of a metaphor for gambling
He kept his hand in the honey pot to long and lost.
He wasted more time arguing with this guy and got nothing in the end because he kept entertaining the idea of getting what he wanted
Finally scenes from one of my favorite movies
Rick from Pawn Stars: “Yeah, I’ll give you $20”
When he said he can't help himself, it was true. THEY can't help themselves. It's like telling an addict "just say no".
What an accurate representation of the diamond district in LA
Even worse in NYC. I lived on 47th st in Hells Kitchen for 5 years in the literal heart of the Diamond District. If you don't know the value of gold/diamonds/silver and try to do business with these soulless blood suckers they will drain you. I still live in Hells Kitchen bc I love this neighborhood but I've since moved further west along 12th Ave on the Hudson River. Much better area.
I live in Dubai, and the gold souk is just the same.
You can’t even really go in to buy from these people in LA. They mostly do wholesale sales for gold and diamonds. I worked for a security company for a few months, who’d transport their merchandise across the diamond district, and these people are truly the stereotype.
Most were Jewish, who’d hire undocumented immigrants, and would routinely (every other week) pack a contigo box full of diamonds/gold, then put a sealing tag on it and have us walk it to the trailer they’d use for transporting. Going into these places is almost always a trip, there’d be big acme style wall safes filled with cash, diamonds, and gold. And the boxes would just have millions in cut and uncut diamonds, or gold chains and bars.
The working man is truly a chump.
Philly diamond district went to every store with a $3500 diamond ring and the highest bid was $150 I kid you not the argument was that the ring size was too small and wouldn’t fit most women fingers
@@whoknows4379 47th street in midtown west is not the diamond district brother lol what are you smoking?
That is hilarious. Its kind of a take on the market guy who cannot not haggle in Monty Pythons Life of Brian. Brilliant 👏 🤣😂
OMG yes, you're talking about the part where Brian tries to buy that beard from the merchant after running away from the Romans? That whole movie is hilarious.
Python was incredibly overrated, wow he mocks someone's accent And pretends to be drunk, Same with Morecambe and wise
Damn man that actually scared the bejesus out of me 😂😂 I’m laughing at the negotiating, but I knew he’s under pressure, but he walks out and I see the cars I’m like that’s why, but that’s the way it can happen 💯
I like how humannapping is normal 😂 its like a taxi pickup
Lol this scene cracks me up!!
Yup - as much as it’s easy to ‘despise’ the merchant I equally admire him for negotiating always. It’s pure, unaltered business. It’s fun.
Yeah, lol so fun
why are you putting despise in scare quotes?
Why would you despise him? It's the customer acting like a complete idiot
@@ohpurpled well he did say " I give you check". If I'm selling expensive metals or jewelry I expect cash.

This bloke won't haggle
Limos as get away cars.😂
They are so long that it makes it harder to hit them from the rear and make them spin out.
I have had customers that bargaining is so ingrained in them that can see the physical pain it is causing them not to get a better deal. I literally can not change the price the company is offering but will reach in my own pocket and offer a $5 discount. It’s a win win.
If your giving customers free money out of your own pocket there's something wrong with you and I will be up there every single day and get free money from you since your just giving it away
@@nickclark18 your Sire have strong opinions and I applaud you for it. I own the business so everything is out of my pocket. I even offer free water the the postman on hot days. Not much profit in that but it’s not much money.
I understand. I had an ex employee that was fired and arrested for stealing come back to my store to try and steal again. It's not money desperation. Just can't get out of the mentality. People are fascinating
I bet the shop owner was thinking "oh so that's why he needs it."

This guy is 100% not a gambler
A true gambler would take a 100 right then and there lmao
He kept telling us but we didn’t listen
Good
These people are everywhere and are why no one really buys jewelry much or rather it goes through this cycle of being bought for materials made made into crap jewelry and sold to be bought for materials again.
Im honestly just shocked the merchant offered 2k if its worth 6 new with the fuy having no proof of ownership, box, service docs etc.
None of this is reality. Wahlberg would have been shown the door the moment he opened his mouth.
Rick Harrison needs to step his game up
never been this early before
HAHHAHAHAH He made it soooooo crystal clear to the man what the terms were and he STILL failed.
Clearly the profit margin he expected caused him to value the watch at 2000. He put out a preliminary offer first, knowing the man would be angry and possibly walk away, and then raised it to 2 grand to try to make it seem like he was losing the offer and that the man would think he had gained some ground in the negotiations. He never would have gone above 2000, otherwise he wouldn’t have let him walk away. He didn’t fail, he was just playing the game by his own rules
@@Choooooooch "Fail" has multiple meanings. I don't mean the jeweler did something wrong or lost anything. I meant that he failed to follow the gambler's perfectly clear and precise instructions. And because he failed, he didn't deserve to be able to keep bidding on the watch.
Toby Ziegler really did his best....or Odin from GOW Ragnarök if you want
A 6 grand watch would get Walberg (maybe) a 500. dollar short term loan. All over N. America.
when did wahlberg get his cheekbones enhanced ?
Offerup in a nutshell
This is WHY u dont remake movies .
oh calm down.... calm down dude
Here’s the reality of these movies, how come there is never a cop around to see things like kidnapping, high speed chases, ect but yet they seem to be in every donut shop wal mart parking lot , beach pulling people over for license plate lights out ect…last night I saw 10 cop cars 1 drone operation for some spring break kids…talk about drama…
No Mazal then?
I don’t know this movie but I’m commenting anyway
Great movie.
He can’t help it. It’s like in his dna or something lol
This is how Arabs from the old country do business.
Why'd they leave out the tiny hat
2 limos and a third car to kidnapp someone. Maybe use a marching band next time to draw even more attention to your crime.
Rick Harrison: best I can do is a bottlecap and a half-bitten lolipop from Chumlee's secret stash.
You have to understand I'm running a bussiness here.
Failed comment
if you don't hear a favorable number, you are in the wrong building, some pawn shops, some locations can't do anything wrong, the flow is that good, many kinds of people buy from pawn shops,me its tools,at half or less
That guy would sell it for $4500 within a few weeks. A 3000 to 2K profit on a few minutes work. X that by having another few hundred to thousand items on sale.
Should have took the 2000.
Is good price
Don't talk to a Ashkenazi or a drunk.
At 1:39 he left the watch on the counter but the next shot he's putting it on his wrist. Editor needs to look a little more closely.
make your own movie if you know so much more and can do better.
thought so. stay in your lane
Such a bullshit and unbelievable scene! LMFAO, that is why this movie cannot come close to the original, but today's kids will love a movie like this just because of the so called action! LMFAO
Its actually the exact oposite, this is exactly how pawn shops operate in the US, they try to scam you every second in an encounter with them.
I am getting it
As said by every Middle East person on the face of the earth.
I can’t stand mark wahlberg. He plays the same tough guy with attitude in every movie.
I give good comment for you. You give thumbs up or thumbs down, no reply. Do you understand.
Wahlberg was never a very good actor, he always acts outta breath when he wants got show he is upset. I wish they got someone better for this role.
Pawn stars make a ton of money from the show ... So they could offer full ask on each item and still profit greatly !!!
cant stand people like that merchant
yepp. i went to a pawn shop the other day to sell my FAVORITE audemar piguet watch, (its beautiful believe me) the guy offered me 7k and i rolled my eyes and walked out of the building, and just like in the movie he chased me outside and said "wait wait wait, i can negioate a better price) and offered me 12k.... from 7k... to 12k... i paid 18k for it. the guy who sold it to me, and everywhere on the internet i can find has it listed for at LEAST 22k, i was only asking for 15k because i needed the money more than i needed the watch... he offered me.. 7k... then 12k... i kept walking away and he kept yelling out numbers, 12k, 13k, 14k, he stopped at 14.2k and i got in my car and drove away like a boss... i was beyond pissed, at the time but.. then i rememebred this movie and seriously busted up laughing when i stopped at red lobster on my way home
@@nickclark18 you did the right thing. he would have tried to haggle you Again back inside. 14k was to get you back in the building
wth is wrong with this dude
this is confusing to watch. is it comedy? satire? drama? its just weird writing
It is fantasy. Act that way and get shown the door at any shop. Get out.
He would be told to leave. A used Omega watch isn't very impressive. The attitude alone says "addict" and most likely stolen property.
Very stupid scene!
Jesus loves you and died on the cross for your sins. Dont let the world lie to you and tell you God isn't real, He is real and He loves you, Jesus will return Take 15 seconds and read Isaiah 53:5.
if you throw an old lady off a cliff, no one else can take the punishment for you. you did that. you get punished. stop acting like someone else can take the blame for you.
this is so TRUE, went to a pawn shop the other day, tried to sell my favorite audemar piguet watch because I need the money more than i need the watch, paid 18,000$ for it brand new, he told me if i ever go to sell it bring it back He will give me 18 for it because he can normally get 22k for it but since i've done business with him for a long time he made me a very sick price, anyway the owner of that store ended up having a heart attack and dying and the store closed permanently. I went to a pawn shop like i said, and the guy offered me 7k for the watch, i rolled my eyes and started walking away and i rememered this scene from this movie, and JUST like in the movie he chased me outside and said "sorry i can negotiate better deal" and offered me 12k... from 7k to 12k.... I was asking for 15k, (its a beautiful watch believe me) well worth 15k if that bozo wasnt so greedy trying to rob me with lowball offered, he eventually offered 14k and i got in my car and peeled away... this movie is so real man, i know it had lots of filler in it and people gave it bad reviews but some of the scenes really are so accurate and show how messed up this world can be and how we can lose our way
