Now days his voice is unrecognizable and not due to age at all. It's the 3rd set of teeth. I mean it's one but it's not his original and so his voice and speaking voice change
This is the best version of this song. All brothers have their very strong moments. Barry, Robin belting out and Mo, with such s high notes. God almighty. Bee Gees is a gift from above!
It doesn’t matter how many times I listen.. I think The Bee Gees music is the best of all time..here I am in 2024 still enjoying these magical singers & composers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't like it when people say this but the versions of this song from 67 to mid 70's so much better than later. Later on versions weren't as accurate. Not as high. Etc.
Barry was about 28 yrs old here and so hot on 🔥 fire! He sings this with such emotion and anguish. He is so sexy here and just amazing to watch. I love this version, this song and Barry!!
+Arney Srackangast I feel exactly the same way! Thank you for saying it so well. Upon hearing this performance, it became one of my favorite songs, but I haven't seen any other cover, nor performance by the Bee Gees that I like as well as this particular performance of the song. It moves me deeply.
cozyfoxstudio i found this performance randomly ,and it sure is riveting. Love it.I was actually looking for Keith Urbans cover of it ..heart stoppingly good and cant find it on youtube .
when I was a child my mother would always have the bee gees playing at our house. I grew up listening to these guys and really took them for granted. Music of today doesn't even come close to defining an area like this music did.
Lyrics, melody, harmony, voices, the Bee Gees had it all. And in this song, power. Three hundred years from now Bee Gees music will be called Classical!
There's something about rock songs that include an orchestra that make them really stand out. The horn and wind section add another dimension to the song.
Only The Bee Gees could do what the Beatles could do change there style of music Bee Gees came back to do disco scene that only a sign of great Musicians
I'm utterly stunned at Barry Gibb's vocal P R O J E C T I O N ! Holy crap I reckon he doesn't really need that microphone to be heard clearly at the back wall of the hall.
There's a light A certain kind of light That never shone on me I want my life to be lived with you Lived with you There's a way everybody say To do each and every little thing But what does it bring If I ain't got you, ain't got? You don't know what it's like, baby You don't know what it's like To love somebody To love somebody The way I love you In my brain I see your face again I know my frame of mind You ain't got to be so blind And I'm blind, so, so, so blind I'm a man Can't you see what I am? I live and I breathe for you But what good does it do If I ain't got you, ain't got? You don't know what it's like, baby You don't know what it's like To love somebody To love somebody The way I love you You don't know what it's like, baby You don't know what it's like To love somebody To love somebody The way I love you You don't know what it's like, baby You don't know what it's like To love somebody
This is a legendary performance from Barry Gibb..makes me tear some tears..every time I see this..and brings me some happiness in the same moment..thanx Barry and the other Gibb brothers..
After hearing Greenfields. I had to come back here😀to listen (3 times) to my Favorite version of Barry and his Brothers. I listen to this one often. Love it! I Love all the BeeGee Songs. Not one bad version I have to say. Best song writer Barry Gibb👋❤They're voices So wonderful, unique- harmonious.
Vicki. Grew up with bgees. Been a fan since 60,s. Only 4 years older than Berry. Still listening 2 them an loving them. Wish I could have seen them in person. God bless you an family. Berry, your bros are the. Tradgety
man i love songs with tiny orchestras playing with them. something about the sound of violins and trumpets playing together with electric guitar and drums like some fusion of time periods makes me float
He sings this song with so much passion... Much more passion than in 1967, except in 67 he belted out I'm a man and this version, it almost seemed like it embarrassed him to have to say it... I've been listening to this song from 1967 and then Words from the Ed Sullivan Show, one and then the other because they are just beautiful song, the other day I said that this song that he is singing right now, he sang it with so much power and force, which is true but in 1967 there was a tenderness to it when it needed a tenderness to it. So yes, while this song is okay, 1967 was much better and then Words behind that song, my soul soars.....
Well, in '74 he and Linda had their first child, so his family was forming. Barry has said that during that time they were in the "pop wilderness" in terms of their careers - just could not get a hit. So although they were playing to a home crowd in Melbourne, they must've wondered if they'd still be in the business ten years later. Turns out, they would be!!!
Love this band they are the best vocal Band ever an there harmonize is prefect right on tempo they were way ahead of time like many that come from alstrialia an England bands like Beatles , Jimmy Hendrix. Donavon , queen , an many more They will never be forgotten
Yep, you can't sing like this your whole life. Man Barry belted it out - can't stop watching this live version. Barry can still sing, but eventually you get old, tired, & loose your wind.
All those decades of singing 'falsetto' didn't do his vocal chords any favors!..agree that Barrys Full-out Natural Voice, before discovering his falsetto was Stellar.
Gloria Mary Haywood yeah..but falsetto helps preserve his voice...almost all Bee Gees songs are sung in high pitches/notes..it's very hard for "old man" like Barry to sing them as good as in his prime
Watch their videos every day ! Love them and ahhh robin and Maurice!!! 4 hunks ...wish I had seen this year's ago! Love their accents also love to hear interviews
The essence of the brothers in 3 minutes!
This is the best version I’ve heard, unbelievable.
BARRY!! The passion, OMG!
This is Barry at his best 😀
OH YEAH.....
YEAH!!😘😘😘
OH YEAH....................
🔥
Now days his voice is unrecognizable and not due to age at all. It's the 3rd set of teeth. I mean it's one but it's not his original and so his voice and speaking voice change
This is the best version of this song. All brothers have their very strong moments. Barry, Robin belting out and Mo, with such s high notes.

@Johnny Wise 👎
Amen
Totally agree, he’s “ripping”!
I agree. Very best version!
Absolutely, it’s fast and he’s “belting”!
Barry at his best!!!
NOBODY sings it like Barry.
Barry's chest voice is amazing and powerful making us feel what he feels.
My wife passed away 4 years ago this week. We didn't agree on much, but we both loved The Bee Gees. RIP Kate ( she hated when I called her that).
God bless you, sir.
Then why did you call her that??
It doesn’t matter how many times I listen.. I think The Bee Gees music is the best of all time..here I am in 2024 still enjoying these magical singers & composers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All beautiful men with so much talent I loved them all, I know its hard for Barry,, GOD BLESS❤❤
First time I saw this clip I was blown away by Barry Gibb's voice, I'd never heard him sing with such power and depth like that.
Oh, there are many of this kind!!!!
Same here ❤
Der beste Song ever Barry was amazing
holy shit, this RULES
I know this is one of the most covered songs. Done by so many over the years. But Barry just owns this song emotionally.
Me impacta la potencia de este tema❤
Barry Gibb in his prime..........nothing better!
I don't like it when people say this but the versions of this song from 67 to mid 70's so much better than later. Later on versions weren't as accurate. Not as high. Etc.

So beautiful Barry was so awesome🙏🏻❤️🌹✝️
Immer und immer wieder dieser Song ist für mich einer der größten Tracks die je geschaffen wurden !!! Ich liebe Berry wie er den Song fühlt!!!
This is the best version of To Love Somebody, Barry was singing it with feeling and powerfully, in other words a masterpiece. Bee Gees forever!!!
The rythm is too fast en de sound is awfull...
i agree. great stuff.
AMEN !
I agree with you ! yummy, kiss you Barry !
.....good backing arrangement. Perhaps a touch too much tremolo on the violin for this performance .
I absolutely love The Bee Gees !!!!
To have such a powerful voice that you have to stand back from the mic, says it all!!
I love how raw this performance is by barry
The greatest songwriter of all time . Barry at his best 😊
Barry was about 28 yrs old here and so hot on 🔥 fire! He sings this with such emotion and anguish. He is so sexy here and just amazing to watch. I love this version, this song and Barry!!
I'm willing to sell my soul to see them live then
Barry's powerful and emotional delivery in this version -- almost anguish -- is truly moving.
This is pure emotion. You can feel pain and hurt
+Arney Srackangast I feel exactly the same way! Thank you for saying it so well. Upon hearing this performance, it became one of my favorite songs, but I haven't seen any other cover, nor performance by the Bee Gees that I like as well as this particular performance of the song. It moves me deeply.
robin's lead sounds even better because he brings a different type of soul
Here we see and hear the ardor of youth (he is on fire here} of a person that loves his music, and who is by nature abundantly endowed in this field.
Maybe Barry was just trying to be heard over the extremely loud orchestra?
Best version, period.
Dear God hes beautiful he can sing like that anytime to me I would surely melt in a puddle
He is great
Brother Barry was feeling it on this one. Best vocal on this one I have heard by him.
So rare to have a song that the anguish cuts deep to one's soul. I love them.
Ich liebe diese Songs bis zum Ende ❤️❤️❤️
This is hands down the best version of this song.
cozyfoxstudio i found this performance randomly ,and it sure is riveting. Love it.I was actually looking for Keith Urbans cover of it ..heart stoppingly good and cant find it on youtube .
Grace under fire Look up the Bee Gees 40th anniversary special, Keith Urban will be on there for you.💃👍

Wow the a drumer!
when I was a child my mother would always have the bee gees playing at our house. I grew up listening to these guys and really took them for granted. Music of today doesn't even come close to defining an area like this music did.
so very true. legends. I think we all sort of "took them for granted" until they were banned on radio and then started dieing!
Bless your mom
You are so very, very correct... Thank God for Mom's huh?????
Barry is a genius.

Wow Barry so very handsome
OMG they were so fine looking then!!! And their voices were so very special. No wonder we all fell in love with them💔😢💐💔😢💐❤️😊💐
Adore this version!
DAYUM .... Barry is so Awesome 💙 singing this JAM. He looks very Handsome 😍. Very POWERFUL and EMOTIONAL ❣️. LUV Bee Gees. My '70s days.
Personal opinion I know but to me the Bee Gees were the best.
Brilliant song.
Melody is not in their voices but in there genetics divine talent
What amazing talent! They were never involved in drugs and scandals, as far as I know. Love them, forever!
I think Robin and Maurice had substance abuse issues for a while.
@@stephencraig5938 I only heard after the fact Robin die due to complications of coke etc.
Perfect! 💕💕💕
There's something about rock songs that include an orchestra that make them really stand out. The horn and wind section add another dimension to the song.
Watch Andy Gibb several years later and you'll see he holds his guitar and sings just like Barry. Awesome
I know! Watching Barry in this vid reminded me of Andy.
Only The Bee Gees could do what the Beatles could do change there style of music Bee Gees came back to do disco scene that only a sign of great Musicians

There's a light
A certain kind of light
That never shone on me
I want my life to be lived with you
Lived with you
There's a way everybody say
To do each and every little thing
But what does it bring
If I ain't got you, ain't got?
You don't know what it's like, baby
You don't know what it's like
To love somebody
To love somebody
The way I love you
In my brain
I see your face again
I know my frame of mind
You ain't got to be so blind
And I'm blind, so, so, so blind
I'm a man
Can't you see what I am?
I live and I breathe for you
But what good does it do
If I ain't got you, ain't got?
You don't know what it's like, baby
You don't know what it's like
To love somebody
To love somebody
The way I love you
You don't know what it's like, baby
You don't know what it's like
To love somebody
To love somebody
The way I love you

You don't know what it's like
To love somebody

Powerful interpretation
My favorite version of my favorite Bee Gees song, simple but powerful lyrics and impeccable harmonies.
I am crazy about this song here because he really puts his love into it !! Barry you are loved
This is one of the best versions of this song that I ever heard. I love, love, love it... It sounds so soulful to me....

Used to stay up late in 1974 to watch them sing on The Midnight Special, they were great!

Amazingly powerful
This delivery is on spot. The lover is drowning in misery is he thinking of harming himself or her?😉
Ce qu il me reste à vivre je veux le passer avec toi .... ❤❤❤❤.

What a high voice Robin has when he hits it wow
Yeah love his voice here.
I❤Love❤this song❤
I wonder what was going on in his personal life at this time. I miss them so much. They're my fav group, hands down.
Well, in '74 he and Linda had their first child, so his family was forming. I like half-time feel during the chorus. It makes the verses more intense.
Love this band they are the best vocal Band ever an there harmonize is prefect right on tempo they were way ahead of time like many that come from alstrialia an England bands like Beatles , Jimmy Hendrix.
