I overachieved. I bought two 8lb bags of dry pinto beans at the store. Put them out to soak. Kept having to put in more containers due to them soaking up all the water. Ended up with 35 quarts. Wow!!! Had one quart for dinner. Very yummy. Don’t think I’ll make that much all at once again
Linda, your timing is excellent with this video. Maybe this will be the motivational video needed to get Charlotte Prepper to fire up her new canner for the first time. Well done!
Linda, this is a fantastic video. I was just getting ready to can pinto beans when I saw your video. I'm going to season each jar with your spices. I had never heard of Better than Bouillion ham flavor before. Thanks!!!!
Love the beans done this way! I've done seasoned red beans like this for red beans and rice. I have the same "vintage" Tupperware measuring cup set! Thank you for keeping me inspired!
I only have the one that’s 2/3 of a cup I ordered it online I paid about eight bucks for it just to get a 2/3 cup measuring cup. Would love to have the whole set
Hi Linda. I love your channel. I'm in Kingsport! I couldn't find the ham seasoning anywhere at all forinths. I went to Google and found it. They also have some ones I've never seen. The chili one is delicious! Take care and stay busy, as Patara says.❤️
Hi Linda! Enjoyed the video. There is so much I need to can right now but my water well has broken and I have realized I definitely don't have enough water in my storage. Fingers crossed my well will be up and running by tomorrow.
Oh no!! Definitely praying for your well. Do you have a hand pump if not that might be something to look into that way you can still get water from your well when the electric grid goes down.💕
That is my favorite meal...beans, fried potatoes and cornbread YUM!!! Your strainer is awesome. Question... how long did you soak the beans for...I have never presoaked mine and I really want to try this method. They look delicious and I am sure you are thrilled to have this food ready to eat when you need it. Thank you!!! Have a great Tuesday❤
That was a great and thorough pressure canning demo, Linda! Sure do thank you for that. Always learning something new from you! Thanks for the lesson and I hope you have a blessed night!
These look so good Linda! I live in southeast Idaho and have never seen the ham seasoning but it is available on Amazon. I am definitely going to try these.
Hey Linda. Was glad to see this video. I need to do this. I bought the Goya ham seasoning and last week made a pot of beans and used 1 packet, definitely not enough seasoning, lol. I just added some Maggi. They were really good. Gonna try 3 packets next time and hunt that in the jar. Thanks for another great video. Was so proud for you and the beans ❤

You definitely had my attention, describing your pinto beans, fried potatoes, and corn bread. I grew up on that. ❤ Ocosianaly salmon patties. I got my canner, finally . I do believe I'm starting with pinto beans.
I love canned pinto beans! I have only done it once and the recipe called to use dry beans in water/broth. I didn't soak and they turned out great. I will try your method soon. Love your videos! They are so helpful. I think I may open a can of these beans for supper later, plus canned potatoes. Can't beat it. 🙂
Canned 7 quarts this morning. Can't wait to try them but will give them a week or two to develop a good flavor. Your instructions were very easy to follow. I had a problem finding the Better Than Bouillon Ham flavor. Finally found it at Food Lion. Thanks for sharing!
@@lindasprepperkitchen I bought mine last year in the spring. I'm glad I did because they are hard to find now. It is so easy to use,it beeps and tells you when to do the different process, warm the jars, fill them,it counts down the process time,so handy.
At 9000 ft. Elevation, I insta-pot the beans for 3 minutes, then can as you described. Whole different ball game up here but good results never the less. 15 lb weight. Nice video.
OMGOSH! Up until recently, I had (what looks like) those exact YELLOW measuring cups. I too have the better than bouillon seasoning, but not ham...YET!😁 Your beans look BEAUTIFUL!!**QUESTION**: Could onions & bell pepper pieces be added? Have a beautiful and blessed day 🙏. LUCRETIA
Hey Burnin Up The Road. Saw you question about adding onions in with you beans. I have added onions for years to mine. When I can find them I will use those small pearl onions to the jars. Here's another twist if you want to kick it up a notch simply add a whole jalapeno pepper to the jar and process it right along with the beans.
Hi Linda, Love the video. Trying to do Pinto Beans, and Kidney Beans. I want to do Both in Pints and Quarts. Should I fill the pint 3/4 also? Would processing time be the same? Oh, I overnight Soak both pots of Beans.
Great video! How many beans did you start with? I have not seen the ham BBTB, but have some of the Goya packets. Thanks for the heads up on them. I had planned on using a packet of the Zatarain's Red Bean seasoning mix to flavor a couple of jars. It's good even without sausage/meat.
I have the same canner in my Amazon cart but just haven't pulled the trigger yet. This was an excellent video for me. I did have a question, do canned vegetables come out mushy? I have this fear that something like carrots will come out like a puree. Can anyone let me know please?
I like the pinto beans that are served at El Polo Loco. Does anyone know of a recipe for them. I believe they have a hint of jalapeno peppers. I was thinking to doing this recipe and then drop in half of a pepper (less seeds) and can. I don't like spicy hot hot... just a hint of heat.

Yeah 35 quarts🤗 I’m sure that was very time consuming.
LOL-- this is a laugh of recognition
My hubby and I have canned 2 canners of pintos. So pretty in the jars!
We canned butter beans yesterday, and had some with cornbread for supper tonight. 👍
That is what I want to know how you can your butter beans. I have canned them myself sometimes they turn out beautiful sometimes they don’t.

Oh yes, Better than Boullion is used at a lot of restaurants as the beef au jou! Great stuff! Publix usually has a larger variety

If you get iodized salt and the liquid gets cloudy does that means that beans are bad or can you still eat the beans?
You can still eat them they are just not as pretty.

I had a warm canner so I used hot water.
This is a very good video. Which recipe are you following? I’m excited to make it with ham seasoning!
Surprised you didn't put jalapenos in some of them
I know right😆
love this , need to try canning
You made it look so easy.
I am rather intimidated, by those pressure canners. I guess the thought of it, exploding keeps me dehydrating.
You just gotta jump in there and do it I want you do it once you’ll be Hooked

I find most things are OK got to keep in mind though when you’re cooking under pressure for periods of time somethings are going to get pretty soft
@@lindasprepperkitchen Thank you Linda. Appreciate it
How long would I can left over pinto beans? Great videos. Thank you
That I’m not sure of I would be curious to know myself.
Couldn’t make out what you said about the beans? Par boil? Soak? What did you do to them first…
She soaked for four hours.
When you pull them off the shelf do they need more cooking or heat and eat?
Heat and eat.
looks amazing can you do the dry method with this?
Not quite sure what you mean by dry method I would say you have to have liquid when pressure canning pinto beans
@@lindasprepperkitchen I guess they call it no soak method lol my terminology not so good lol
@@citygirlhomestead yes, you could do the no soak method, I just like how they come out better if you at least soak them for a couple hours.

Yes
Please do spaghetti and chili and salsa
If you don’t have a pressure cooker can you water bath them and for how long?
No you have to pressure can them😊
About how high is water in canner ? Above to of beans ?
I like to make sure there’s at least a court and a half 2 quarts in the bottom
How many beans if you use Pont jars in stead of quarts
*pint
Fill your jar 3/4 Full of beans if you want it more soupy just put it half full of beans.
Where can I get the colander you showed
I got mine from Rosses. But I’m sure you can find them on Amazon and places like that. I love love my big bowl in colander.
Are these pint sized jars?
These are quartz size.
