Hell yea man.. I saw Warrel Dane last year with his Brazilian band performing the whole "Dead Hear in a Dead World" album and a couple of other Nevermore-classics, it wasn't nearly as good as the old days, though... And unfortunately, Warrel seems to be a rack these days... I'm looking forward to his second solo record soon!
Andrew M other albums that are a must listen are Iced Earth-horror show Scar symmetry-pitch black progress Symphony x- devine wings of tragedy Annihilator- Alice in hell Dream Theater- train of thought I don't know if you have heard them but if you haven't...do so :)
Holy fuck Ruben, thanks for checking them out. It is in my opinion one of their masterpieces and one of their most complex songs - it takes many listens, but if you got it, it's absolutely amazing (including the lyrics!). They are an example for many others actually, especially Jeff Loomis. If you want to go for something easier, thrashier and more "in your face", you should definately check out "Born" and "Enemies of Reality". They are deserved legends of heavy metal! Another thing I can recommend (if you like Jeff Loomis) is his other project "Conquering Dystopia", it's very technical, but melodic extreme metal (instrumental!!!), they have a lot of drum and guitar videos on UA-cam and believe: You will not be disappointed. Hope to see more of Nevermore/Loomis/Dane etc., have a great evening.
I saw your River Dragon has Come tribute review with the passing of Warrel. Definitely check out more. They are definitely in my top 5 bands of my life and I am 47 and have been a metal head since I was 11 or so.
Ruben, so glad to see you get around to Nevermore! Although they're not quite your typical fare, I could totally see the transition from Devin Townsend to Nevermore. I cannot possibly recommend anything by them higher than Believe in Nothing, although there are some other fantastic offerings (River Dragon has Come, Heart Collector, Lotus Eaters, Poison Godmachine, Cenotaph, Beyond Within, Your Poison Throne....I could go on and on!). Cheers!
Glad to have come up on your channel brother!!! I had just finished a Vid of mine paying tribute to Warrell Dane with this album playing in the background. Great choice that was recommended to you , My favorite track from this album is "my acid words".
Been waiting for this! Glad you like them. One of my all time favorites. Shame they broke up. Warrel Dane was in Sanctuary before Nevermore and he restated the band after Nevermore split. He also has a solo album which is nice but it's more on the rock side of things. Nevermore's old albums are more heavy metal and prog, then they started adding tthrash and heavier elements and 7 string guitars later on. Their entire discography is amazing!
Fun fact. You did a Carcass video last week and now you Nevermore. Actually, Carcass' guitards Michael Amott is the founding member of Arch Enemy. Jeff Loomis joined Arch Enemy 2 years ago :) . Basically, together with Alissa's former band The Agonist (which you covered last week) it looks like you're digging deeper into the Arch Enemy history xD
Not espcially for Arch Enemy itself no. Seen them 5 times live now (3 with angela, 2 with alissa) and although they sound great, I'm not a fan :) . Are you going to?
I'm surprised having Jeff Loomis *and* Chris Broderick on the same stage doesn't create wormholes or something.
Hahahahahaa
I miss Nevermore so much...
me too

Jeff Loomis is a master guitar player - for without one single doubt but I can't stand Warrel Dane's voice, just my opinion.
