I agree. I see more old Lexus vehicles on the road than any old comparable German equivalent. Most beamers, mercs and jags crap out shortly after the factory warranty expires and they go off to auto auctions. I currently own a 2002 Lexus GS 300 with nearly 200,000 miles and its still quiet, smooth and comfortable. No electrical or mechanical issues at all.

Amongst 50+ cars that I've owned in the last 20-30 years, three of them have been my 2013 E350 4matic w/ Designo & AMG Sports pack, 2017 S550 4matic AMG Sports pack with Designo and executive 2 pack, and 2015 LS460 UL Pack. I love all three. They have been my top 3 favorite cars. I put 110k trouble free(ZERO issues apart from new tires and regular maintenance) miles on my E350. My S550 had only 44k miles before got tboned by a moron kid, but it was just as perfect. It took me forever to get my S550 because it was a very rare spec. I tried finding a certified S550 like it, but stopped after nothing came up after almost a year. That's when I found my LS460, which has also been just as good. I've had Toyotas that have been less reliable, including my 2018 Avalon Limited that I'm still having issues with steering rattle, dash vibrations, rear sunshade creaking, and reverse to drive jumping that Toyota says "everything functions as intended". I've had good luck with Lexus, but not Toyota. Mercedes and Lexus will always be my top 2 favorite daily drivers.

@@MBZ-Nation It's cool that you replied to my comment from 8 years ago. I no longer have that Lexus and I've moved on to many other brands particularly in search for a more responsive driving experience. In regards to your Avalon: it may be unpopular to say this but, there is a significant difference in quality between Lexus/Toyotas built in Japan versus the ones built elsewhere. Reliability data and initial quality reports back this statement. Lexus factories in Japan hold many prestigious awards for quality excellence. Your LS460 was assembled in Japan. Your Avalon, unfortunately, was not. That said, I agree that their factories outside of Japan need better training, labor force, quality checks and oversight. Hopefully Toyota improves this in the future.

Even if you don't keep the car for 7+ more years, which a lot of people do, the fact that lexus has much better reliability compared to the Germans means that the resale value is much higher. That matters a lot too! I've seen used benzes sell for 40% less after a year!

Lexus/Toyota cars are just too reliable. i mean this car keeps on going and going and going until you get sick of it. Not from breaks down. my old 1999LS 400 at 180K+ miles, all you need is just oil changed. My boss has his Audi A8, he goes in and out of the dealer too many times because things breaks down, i loss count how many times the dealer rent him the rental for him. lol.. I think it's stupid to drive car that waste your life time.

Then you most have been living under a rock.. in 1998 Lexus GS400 was the fastest auto sedan in the world and won sport sedan of the year. The ISF is a M3 fighter and the LFA held the NUR track record and in a recent comparison the new GS-F Sport beat out the Audi a6 and BMW 5 series M Sport and came in first place. Wake up. You cant sleep forever.

again you keep complaining about the Lexus 'joystick." Let me ask you, why do you always move it around with 2 fingers. Of course its not going to work well if you don't use it properly. It works like a mouse so put your entire palm on the mouse and move it like you would normally use a computer mouse. Sheesh...Also stop focusing so much on your fingers scraping against the material so much!

Interior still lacks a lot of detailing found in the more expensive German cars - lots of somewhat cheap Toyota bits in there - manual door locks, tacky button placement, etc. attention to detail is overrated on Lexus vehicles - there's a reason the LS is priced so much lower than the Germans

The software in that is ancient. Do my 2009 Lexus IS 350 convertible we have the same keyboard type entry. It's a pain in the ass. I'd rather use my Google Maps. My Pioneer Double-Din head unit does a better job as it lists banks & gas stations in little thumbnail pop ups as I travel down the road. First thing I would do is take out the entertainment system. Useless.
