Crow Killer who the hell use the term soul in car anymore. Such silliness. If loud engine and loud exhaust means car have soul then you might as well drive motorcycles with custom exhaust
Definitely not the most reliable. My 2013 LS460 is a beautiful car and a joy to drive and ride but it’s plagued with control arm and suspension problem.
@@Mabeylater293 I bought it 2 year ago with 60k miles with CPO for extra 3 years. being in shop twice for control arm, once for wheel bearing and another time for heat not working. all fixed under warranty. hopefully no more issue come up. car drives beautiful however its very heavy, their set up for the control arm and bushing are too soft and big potholes here in NYC wears them out too fast. my 08 Infiniti M35 i had for 9 years never had an issue cept strut went bad once.
I know many previous BMW owners as well as Mercedes and Audi owners who have now purchased Lexus cars and have never looked back! They're as happy as Larry and swears by them! They cannot sing Lexus praises enough!
The S class depreciates terribly i have to say, imagine a 2013 s class s 550 full options is available for 30k. A car that was over 120k in 2013. So in 3 years it has dropped slightly more than 4 times its value from 2013 to 2016.
i have a 2006 LS.the best car i have ever had,i am planing to get the new LS,just waiting for the cash to be ready :), and i will keep the old one.its already part of our family, if you want the luxury, performance, reliability and staying away from garages for any bad issues, go for LEXUS.and you will never regret.
Most amazing luxury sedan on the planet. I've had the pleasure of being in the rear of this, the S Class, and the 7 Series. The quietness of this car is just unheard of (pun not intended) when compared with the Germans. The way it goes over the road so smoothly, you can barely tell you're moving. I'm in love with this car.
Monsieur Africain Yup some like luxury and other like sport. I also like off-road as well. My dad has an Avalon (yes it a luxury car) and it awesome but I still prefer driving my WRX over it. It hard to park and no where as fast as my WRX. Also I don't like it when the car engine is extremely quiet. I like loud noise like the V8 of a Mustang.
I saw one of these on the road the other day ... I have to say there is a gravitas to this design that doesn't translate to a computer monitor. It's a great looking car on the road.
Audi only wins in performance, lexus wins on every single thing. reliability, comfort, features, space, luxury,RELIABILITY, resell value, kickass exterior and interior.. Audi is also good at staying longer in the maintenance garage than your home garage.
Looking to buy my first new car and feel a little overwhelmed by all the choices. I'm pretty sure I want an entry level luxury sedan. I really like Toyotas and Hondas...which has me leaning toward this. I really like the look of Cadillac entry level sedans too. Dependability-wise, I'm sure I'd get my money's worth from this. Another important thing for me, being a music junky, is being able to customize my sound system. I know on newer vehicles putting in a new head unit is not something that can easily be done. I also know that Cadillac generally has great in-cab speakers...but don't know too much about their head unit. Do all head units on these newer cars have pre amp outputs to run to an amplifier?
That was my point, I can't tell if you're trying to argue with me or agree with me. My family has Lexus, and it's an amazing car. Great build quality, ride, and very very sleek and luxurious, of course. The Equus I'm sure is a decent car, it just lacks character. It's a Hyundai. And frankly, anyone who believes Hyundai can compete with the LS, S Class, or XJ, really needs to learn a little about luxury.
There is no need for Lexus to make the suspension more sport tuned because this nature of the LS is what customers want from Lexus. A premium ride quality, beautiful exterior, super comfortable and luxury interior and ultimate luxury in the rear seats. This LS is perfect!
I like the video. But I wanted more assessment of how the thing really drives. That is, would you like to be behind the wheel of this, or was the Makeover unnecessary and you'll still sit in the back?
Lexus set the benchmark for luxury sedans when the ls came on the scene, so to say they copy bmw, Mercedes or audi is inaccurate to say the least, the past few years the ls has been a bit boring so they are trying to bring some new life back to the ls which I think looks unique, and it's only a refresh not a complete redesign which is some ways shows the direction they are heading
Lexus is changing graduately to reach the line of glory and if I couldn't purchase the LS I would take the Volvo s90 instead cause the Vovo was a reliability too
they should have put a 4.5 liter in there and make it at least 400 hp, there is no need for a 5 liter v8 when a 4.5 liter can make boat loads of more power for 20% less fuel
Meh...my dad has a 2012 Jaguar XJ L. Most horrible car ownership he's ever endured. He purchased a 2011 originally, and had to sell it and get a new one after 6 months later ($13k down the drain) due to constant problems.sounds from the roof, and the car not starting randomly. Needless to say, looking around the XJ forums, it seems many others have similar issues. Jaguar was never able to fix the issues. The car was listed almost $30k less than MSRP less than a year old, and with around 20k kms.
makizee1 of course the brand name keeps the European luxury cars out there in the market. Just to let you know...a brand name reputation is ALWAYS BUILT ON SOMETHING (quality products, market satisfaction and so on), you can't take that for granted
A HYUNDAI EQUUS IS STILL A HYUNDAI NO MATTER HOW NICE OR EXPENSIVE IT IS. IT WILL NEVER BE CONSIDERED AS A LUXURY CAR. BMW, MERCEDES, AND AUDI CAN ONLY WISH THEY HAVE THE KIND OF SELL NUMBER LEXUS HAS. LEXUS SELLS MORE CARS THAN BMW, MERCEDES, AUDI, JAGUAR COMBINE. THIS HIGH VOLUME OF SELL SAYS A LOT ABOUT THE QUALITY AND RELIABILITY OF LEXUS AND WHAT BUYERS WANT IN THEIR LUXURY SEDAN. ONLY IF THE GERMAN CAN MASTER THE ART OF RELIABILITY, THEY WOULD SELL MORE CARS.
WOW, SO THIS 2013 LEXUS LS 460 WITH A PREDATOR FASCIA IS THE NEW LS 460 OR FIFTH GENERATION. I DON'T SEE HOW THIS 2013 LS460 IS ANY DIFFERENT FROM THE 2007. CAN ANYONE PLEASE SHARE WHAT YOU SEE??? 1ST GENERATION LEXUS LS =1990-1995 2ND GENERATION LEXUS LS = 1996-2000 note: 1st and 2nd generations are basically the same car with minor modifications. 3RD GENERATION = 2001-2006 4TH GENERATION = 2007-2012 5TH GENERATION = 2013-CURRENT
Unlike, Nissan's CVT, the one in the Lexus is actually reliable, the Lexus's power train is a hybrid and the cvt provides the most seamless, responsive, and transitional experience in these type of power trains compared to traditional automatics.
No Shit! A CVT? There is a noticeable response lag with CVT's, not to mention the questions about reliability. I asked my highly experienced import car mechanic about CVTs and he told me to avoid them like the plague. Furthermore, they don't mix well with more powerful engines. Perhaps thats why Lexus vehicles are always under powered compared to competitors in same class. However, there is something to be said for the seamless driving experiences they offer, i.e. no apparent shift points. If it truly is a high end refined version of a CVT, it may indeed be worth consideration, but only time will tell.
I sooo wanted to buy the new Suburu Forester when it came out in 2014, but the CVT was the defining blow. It probably would be OK with its standard 170hp engine but with the Turbo (that I wanted) my mechanic thought that would stress the hell out of it at 250hp.
How about you guys actually tell us the MODEL number of the car being reviewed? LS430? LS460? LS600? I know which ones they are, but the review is very confusing to the uninitiated, I don't think they can easily tell which model is being talked about.
I dont agree with alessandros comment but niether with yours. The Audi A8 is more expensive than the ls and if you search up a6 vs e class vs 5 series lexus isnt even included in it and audi wins most of them. Not to be a troll though because i love Lexus and this might me my next car. (ps. my dad has a a8l executive seating package so i have first hand experiance)
What you forget is that 50% of the Equus' interior is made of a fake leather/ plastic material that gives it a faux-luxury look. The build quality is just as good as that on an Elantra, and personally, being someone who is used to riding around in a luxury car, I would at least want some leather and veneer in the cabin if i'm paying 60 - 66 grand on a HYUNDAI.
All of this luxury and tech and still it holds top honors for being the most reliable car on the market. Impressive.
Crow Killer it’s designed for the streets. When’s the last time you went to the track?
Crow Killer who the hell use the term soul in car anymore. Such silliness. If loud engine and loud exhaust means car have soul then you might as well drive motorcycles with custom exhaust
Definitely not the most reliable. My 2013 LS460 is a beautiful car and a joy to drive and ride but it’s plagued with control arm and suspension problem.

Just makes good common sense to own a LEXUS....
I wouldn't purchase any other vehicle in this class other than the Lexus LS. all other cars break down and depreciate horrendously.
The S class depreciates terribly i have to say, imagine a 2013 s class s 550 full options is available for 30k. A car that was over 120k in 2013. So in 3 years it has dropped slightly more than 4 times its value from 2013 to 2016.
Love that “Or that Unfortunate Indictment”- KBB you’re crazy
I just saw a 1 owner 2014 LS 460 F sport. Only 35k. Not sure why it dropped so much but I might just get one!
You should it's my dream car
The higher the price the faster it depreciates. Especially the pos german cars.
Nearest car to perfection, if not perfect in my opinion.
AMA200707 needs more power though or at least be a bit more efficient

Da best machine on the Planet Earth
I have a 2004 LS and I'm sticking with it. :D Still feels new...

I love the new LS it's beautiful
The greatest of them all...
They failed to show how the LS greets the owner with the LED light show. 😔
Still looks better(inside and out) than that LS500, in my opinion.
Dammmmm that's a 2013,I'm definitely getting me one soon....It just makes good common sense to own a LEXUS....
Wow! The car is awesome.
Also, I completely forgot about that old intro. I like the current intro better
Great Video, the music was a very good choice, the narration was just right, and the cinematography was excellent!
well done
love the new ways you guys review cars!
I really love the new style of your videos.
I wish I had enough money to afford one :-D
Monsieur Africain dont we all..?
+Monsieur Africain Buy a preowned one. Most lessees drive this car nicely during the 3 years they "own" it. Plus, they're very reliable.
Not sure how much it cost but I would trade it in for a GTR mainly cause Luxury car isn't my cup of tea and neither are big sedan.
thehotsung8701A I like big sedans they feel comfortable, plush and nice.
Monsieur Africain

I don't like the front in new Lexus (Lexi?), but the tail lights along with the twin exhaust make the back end really stylish.
I saw one of these on the road the other day ... I have to say there is a gravitas to this design that doesn't translate to a computer monitor. It's a great looking car on the road.
I️ love my ‘13 LS
How's she holding up????
It has near perfect reliability on the latest consumer reports ratings.
Awesome review. Voice is good, background music is good, what else to say but good job.
oh. i'm so in LOOOOOOOVE.
Thanks for the Review.
I LOOOOOOOOOVE THIS CAR.!
HOPE SOMEDAY.
2016 Lexus LS review, uploaded Oct 24, 2012? Rehashing old reviews?
very good review
Did Micah just compare it to the Boeing Dreamliner? Yasssss!
THE LEXUS LS and BENZ S CLASS ARE THE SAME CAR WEARING DIFFERENT PANTS...How do i know? I own both cars :-) and Love them Both equally.

Lexus should offer it in more interesting colors

Might as well get the ES.
Bought a new Cadillac XTS when I could've bought this.... XTS is very problematic, ughhh
Ah my neighbour too! He brought Ats then with mechanical problems a week.
Now he realised what Lexus is for.
That unfortunate indictment LOL
Bruce from accounting wearing an iron maiden shirt! lol! :-D
So its the same old car..but with an uglier front facia?
Beautiful
+1 for this luxo beast.
a dream car and this Lexus has always been - ergonomic perfection - Grill is Mazda-like, possibly a mistake
i say this a million times, The Germans and other European Luxuries are just fortunate their brand name keeps them in the market
they should have put a 4.5 liter in there and make it at least 400 hp, there is no need for a 5 liter v8 when a 4.5 liter can make boat loads of more power for 20% less fuel
The side profile still looks so beautiful. But it should have been a redesign, not a massive facelift.
Looks like a beautiful car, but I am not sure is almost double the money better than my GS.
I wonder if Bruce from accounting is free this Friday night. I have 2 tickets to the BEAN COUNTERS Rally I'm Vegas baby.
F sport looks pretty good.
+ has all the new technologies

I KNOW! But people shouldn't have to guess, or calculate, these guys should just have put the model number, like all car reviewers do.
I agree. Poor organization and communication to its audience.
More likely an LS 460
