I honestly think they get too much credit. I can't speak to the GS, but for the price, the IS was woefully underwhelming in almost every regard. I would have loved to love Lexus. I come from an all Toyota family, but they just don't seem to measure up to the competition.
jmiktutt Lexus is the highest raking vehicle manufacturer for dependability, since the 90's except for a few random years. (JD power vehicle dependability study 2014) They actually beat the competition by a large margin, in problems per 100 vehicles. Lexus is at 68, mercedes benz 104, Cadillac 107.
TheZigZagg I will concede that point. I have no doubt that they are incredibly dependable, but as far as being fun or comfortable, I found them far outclassed. I much prefer Infiniti in those categories.
jmiktutt which IS are you referring to? There's about a 100 hp difference between the 250 and the 350 so I have no doubt the 250 will be underwhelming. The 350 is a very fun car to drive
It was indeed the IS 250. I'm sure there's a big difference, but if I remember right, going to the 350 changed the price bracket by a considerable amount. That said, I can see that it was a prejudice I held that was over the top. If I ever end up shopping in this category again, I'll definitely give them another try.
I don't think I've ever seen a car review where the wheels have been removed and details of suspension and brake components have been covered. Great under bonnet coverage too. An object lesson to other reviewers.
Excellent, happy to hear the positive response. You can learn a lot by checking out different designs, hoping to show these, and over time be able to point out much more unique differences.

Great review! We love our GS350. I love the quality and handling. Our Cadillac was a disappointment in the reliability department so we decided on a CPO Lexus GS350 for my wife this time around. I love how much detail you provided. This would be so much more helpful for someone who is actually interested in buying this car...assuming they actually know a thing or two about what you are showing them. It's fun to drive in sport mode when opening it up and around turns, but it can also just be a joy to cruise around in and enjoy as a quiet smooth luxury car. Unless I make a huge leap financially and can move up to a Porsche Taycan or Panamera or something like that, I've pretty much made my mind up that I will be a Lexus owner for life.
I just bought a white 2015 F sport with the same "circuit red" interior. It drives amazing and looks amazing as well. The only issue I'm having is I found out the BSM or blind spot monitor system needs service.
This is not active torque control AWD (or dynamic torque control as Toyota calls it), it is full-time AWD with an electronically controlled center differential and standard 30:70 front-to-rear torque split. This is a true AWD at all times, and the AWD cannot be turned off. The center differential is locked by an electronic hydromechanical multi plate clutch. Therefore , the torque split can be adjusted from 30:70 up to 50:50. Active torque control is the front-biased , on-demand, part-time system used on the RX, NX, and UX (and RAV-4 and Highlander)

Great review! I bought this car for my wife and it is a really good fit for her. She likes the interior (Flaxen), and other amenities. I personally find the car comfortable but way to numb for my tastes. My wife now, she loves that aspect because she spent years with my cars that are loud, manual transmission and required more driver input. But I did find the car fun in sport mode and mashing the throttle to the floor. Now this car is no ballerina and I think a rotrex supercharger (450whp) will make this car more fun!

Just looking at 18:13, it is easy to tell your estimate of 25mpg is way off. With 50% highway driving, this car's average mpg is way below 20mpg. The IS250 review has the same problem. The mpg for IS2250 is just over 20.
This is one of the better reviews I have seen, others just focus on crap like sat nav and stuff, this is one of the better ones because it actually shows main components and one would be able to see if they are going to need special tools and stuff for repair work and such, or maybe reasons why one may not like the plastic manifold or aluminum suspension
What a GREAT review. He actually knows his product thoroughly. He shows us the details that really count and does it in such a way that its easy to understand. By far the best review I've seen of any car on YT. GREAT!!!!
I've seen your STI review before; your reviews are definitely unique. I've heard reviewers saying rear multi-link suspension many times but they never showed one. It's good to see brake rotors and shock absorbers being explained too. Well done.
Love your reviews and how you explore the technical part of the car. It gets a lot more interesting not only explaining what the car does, but also why it's doing it. When looking at the typical reviews the journalist spends more time talking about putting the groceries in the trunk.
Bought this limited Crafted Line edition this May, it's really a great sport sedan! Well done in corner, rev up fast in sport/sport+ mode and build up speed fast. Engine sound is great, one of the most beautiful NA V6 sound I've ever heard. The audio system is just phenomenal. I have a ES350 2014 which the audio system Lexus provides always a sweet enjoyment.

Thank you for your extensive time spent on editing this film together. Many car reviewer channels should be taking notes from you sir. Please keep going, one or two from every car brand should do it =D
Great job your presentation was right on point and very informative keep up the good work I just brought my first Lexus and I am hooked the way the car handles and performs and I'm in love with the wood grain interior once again great job
Great video, I think your explanations of the parts were the best parts. The only thing you didn't cover was the 4WD system, if it only turns on during traction loss, or if it is a full time system. I'd definitely like to see more reviews when you explain the mechanics of the cars; the real world applications of the systems you explain in most of your videos are very interesting.
I like how technical you get! If I had one thing I would like to add is that objectivity is good, but subjectivity gets the message across... If you could find comparable cars that are common or benchmarks to measure against the car you're reviewing it would be more approachable, in my opinion. Keep going! This is a platform for you to launch into the heavens!
Excellent reviews, man - really enjoyable and keep up the great work. I know nothing about physics or engineering, and I enjoy learning a little bit more about this side of things. Just a tiny correction: at ~15:35 mark, you mention the sport mode holds the *higher* gear to maintain high revs -- i'm guessing you misspoke and meant it holds a *lower* gear, right?
Fantastic review mate you do a better job then those car shows on TV, a lot more in depth and your knowledge is clearly superior to them. If you get more opportunities to review cars please do so, you sir are great at what you do and not annoying like some other presenters.
Kenneth Turner If I were to choose I'd probably for the RWD as well. Cheaper and lighter, and has rear-wheel steering. Also, the 350 is a significant improvement over the 250 (referring the IS), without sacrificing much fuel economy.
You totally nailed this! Awesome the way you started with the engine first. You have done your homework and call off the stats like a pro. I own a 2002 GS and still get the enjoyment you have when behind the wheel. By far, the best car review yet!
At first i thought 'great, he is trying to copy subaruwrxfan but i was wrong, i like this sort of review, explaining the engineering of the car. Keep them coming
I'm not hating here, but there are worlds between wrxfan and what we get to see here. It is just a whole different approach. Things get technical here, at wrxfans channel emotion takes over. (Which is not a bad thing especially when it comes to cars. Although i think ThatDudeinBlue does an even better job there)
I’ve got the GS 350 (non-F-Sport) and the car is basically the same just without the higher price, Mark Levinson stereo, a couple is seat adjustments, and the shock dampening. To me the F-Sport package just isn’t worth the extra money. Love my 2015 GS 350!
The seat adjustment is huge. I've owned both the base and the F-sport, currently on the F-Sport and the seats are a night and day difference. They're way more comfortable and I love the look of the front bumper. Personally, I think it's worth the money but to each their own! It's a beautiful car regardless.
In the exact same spec as this one, today, I was riding with my dad and it got rekt. A guy rear ended us and I was okay, I love this car it saved me life.

You're an insanely clever chap and very easy to understand (having in mind that I am a brazilian guy, an engineering student though haha). Congratulations, bro, I learn a ton of new stuff in your videos, thank you so much for sharing your insanely vast knowledge! Cheers!
Thanks!! Happy to hear you enjoyed it.
Fantastic review,I like your videos where you don’t advertise brands and products.specially your car reviews in depth from an engineering point of view which make you different and more interesting.please do more car reviews like this one Chris
Well done
I just bought this spec because of your review. Thank you for the incredible detail.
Thank you for your extensive time spent on editing this film together. Many car reviewer channels should be taking notes from you sir. Please keep going, one or two from every car brand should do it =D
Awesome review of an awesome car! I like that you give so many detail about the car !! Very nice job as always!!
Nothing less expected from Lexus..always been one of the leaders.
I am strongly considering purchasing this exact car. A 2015 black with the reddish interior. This video helped a lot. Thanks
First guy I've seen that likes the infotainment system. Fair play
Engineer... Can't. Be. Subjective. Haha, thanks for the feedback. :)
14:24- 14:35 Lexus hit their goal of a satisfied driver then it continues
James Herd Thanks, glad to hear it! Hoping this will become a new permanent segment of the channel.
Best auto review I have ever seen, and have seen many. I dream about the 2015 Lexus GS 350 F Sport RWD every day. Thank you
Kenneth Turner If I were to choose I'd probably for the RWD as well. Cheaper and lighter, and has rear-wheel steering. Also, the 350 is a significant improvement over the 250 (referring the IS), without sacrificing much fuel economy.
you can tell this is a real car guy here. awesome detail. subscribed
Ive had this car since it came out and honestly, I know more about the car now...
Great video!
You totally nailed this! Awesome the way you started with the engine first. You have done your homework and call off the stats like a pro. I own a 2002 GS and still get the enjoyment you have when behind the wheel. By far, the best car review yet!
scottp104 Thanks! More to come!
Good review! I like how you went over the engine and the suspension.
At first i thought 'great, he is trying to copy subaruwrxfan but i was wrong, i like this sort of review, explaining the engineering of the car. Keep them coming
TheJoeMB Well, I'm glad you approve! I like facts, opinions are meaningless without data. :)
getbuttkik
He likes "drama" in his butthole :D
I’ve owned two Lexus cars and they are always my favorite cars.
I enjoy them quite a bit
Great review. Nice to see you go into detail about the mechanical aspects. No other channel on UA-cam does this. Well done!
You should start reviewing all kinds of new cars!
Hoping too, thanks for the encouragement!
nice review, almost non of the other reviewers are taking care of such details, keep it up !!
WOAH Jason. you sure have come A LONG WAY in terms of car reviews from 2014 to 2016! Keep it up :)
This was a great review. I've never seen anyone take off the wheels and show the brakes and suspension.
This is a wonderful car. More credit needs to be given to it.
Love your reviews . It should be called the " full review "
In the exact same spec as this one, today, I was riding with my dad and it got rekt. A guy rear ended us and I was okay, I love this car it saved me life.
Really enjoy your thoroughness and attention to detail. Everything has a concise, logical flow. Keep it up!
keep it up! love the new perspective you share vs other reviewers!
The color of that leather is something else Bravo Lexus...
Like the in depth review compared to other car journalist. Keep up the good work!
dear santa .....this lexus its brutal machine , im impressed the , bumper ducts to cooling the brakes are a very good thing , good review lets keep do some more reviews
awesome job.. you really should do more car review. Like to see the point of view from a technical person compared to common auto journalist
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, BTW you did phenomenal review on Gs350 and keep up the good work : )
This is another awesome car related channel I should have subscribed to much earlier. I'll check every update from now on!
This review earned the channel a sub and like. Worth it🤟🏽
