My mom was a mess, a drug addict and alcoholic. Got arrested a few times. Made a mess of her life and mine- but this song has always been very important to me and it reminds me of the very few positive remaining memories of my childhood with my mom. I can’t not sing along. She overdosed a couple years back and I got lucky and worked hard not to follow in her footsteps with drug and alcohol use. Thankfully, I have a safe and happy life. The bit with the child is one that a lot of families are going through right now. They have a kid, then end up with little money for whatever reason (loss of job, low pay, etc) so a lot of them end up in squalor and fall through the cracks of getting help. Right now my husband and I only have a roof over our heads because we're living in his childhood home with is somewhat dliapidated because we don't have the money for upkeep. The only reason we stay here is its actually cheaper than renting (since its paid off) and also we're in the midst of a housing crisis in the Greater Toronto Area. Thankfully, we don't have any kids.
Hang onto that house. When your circumstances change you can do repairs a bit at a time. I live in the GTA also. No greater asset these days than home ownership.

I can almost guarantee that she was suffering post partom depression. It can be so bad for some women that they become figuratively parylized and have no idea where to even start to dig out of the mess. I could see that she was very overwhelmed and exhausted. Having said that, that is no reason or excuae to allow an infant to remain in such bad conditions. I pray that she has been educated on the seriousness of the situation and made the nessisary corrections. I believe she loves the baby, but unlike the song, love is not enough. Also, what kind of a father would allow his home to get that bad. When the woman has had a baby, the man becomes responsible for all of the house work that she cant do for at least two months. Giving birth is very hard on some women, and if he cant even take tje trash out, or do the dishes, or make sure there is healthy food in house for both baby and mom, then he is not a real man. He also has a lot to learn about being a father.

There wasn’t rotting food or anything. Houses I go into had a film of grime on the floor, animal feces, actually rotting food, no electricity, roaches, bed bugs. These new parents just need education. And she needs help with her post partum and needs help recognizing she has it and what to do for her.
The last one with the baby just got to me, I was hoping the cops would take the newborn from her. that 's no place to raise a baby in this filthy room, the cops said there was no food no formula and the place was a disaster zone. Thank you, the cops did their job on this one. Wish we could get updates on the hard one like those.
You know theses episodes where recorded mostly in the 80's and 90's that baby is probably 30-40 yrs old now. Just sad that shows like that don't exist anymore, there was Live PD for awhile, but the show got cancelled and it was one of the most popular show in the USA.

She was a brand new mom - she just needed help - baby cries - if she work to make money - who take care of baby - they were so mean to the girl and to the dad - just a adviser- yes the house was not clean - but she have given a birth she’s not healed - no responsibility or help from father or his families- she didn’t have food for herself- but she had a few baby food - and formula- in her bag - that’s mean she didn’t eat nothing- instead going off on her - get her a help and some foods then she will be in track - and visit her again - cops aren’t just to treat parents like shit - she was super young - removing the child is the last option- the father should keep the place clean when new mom take care of the new born- no new mom can do it all - when they that young - this cops are making bad face ,for all cops - it’s a old show - they like actors more then a law officers -

He is legally allowed to be on private property any where the mail man can go. Apparently, dad's property is a bar, and he was in the parking lot, that too is allowed to be "patrolled" without permission.

@gwoody4003 he did have a misdemeanor warrant I believe, but the original felony warrant was taken care of the day before. The cop should have checked before the arrest buts it's possible he did and the system wasn't up to date.
