  • DAY 1: how to make a “sildemad,” a herring open faced sandwich 🐟
Welcome to day 1 of the series where we take you through how we assemble nine of our favorite Danish smørrebrød, or open-faced sandwiches! 🥪
Today’s herring sandwich is traditionally eaten first in a big Danish lunch! 🇩🇰 Start with rye bread, then spread on butter if you would like, top with 3-4 pieces of marinated herring, then garnish with onion, sliced radishes, capers, and micro greens! 🌱 Enjoy 🥰
Stay tuned for the next sandwich tomorrow! We also have a recipe on our site if you need a checklist of ingredients:

It’s really healthy I don’t like pickled herring that much so I need to make it into a sandwich and I get the health benefits 👍
