Depends on the setting, but knife and fork is pretty common even at home 😊
Thanks for the video and for spreading the good word about our cherished smørrebrød, but I would like to add that it would look a lot better if you gave the meats a little twist or wave and the pickles a little slice and then twist that as well. It adds a lot to the presentation by making the product taller, but the taste is, of course, the same.
Can you share your recipe for the liver pate? It looks quite good.

If you live in the US, "braunschweiger" would, in my opinion be a decent substitute. For some, real liver pate is also somewhat of an acquired taste.....

Always use fresh ingredients and always make sure that every ingredient is visible (except for the butter and rye bread). This is 101 when it comes to smørrebrød.

Ah, I had to wreck my brain for a second. It's called Øllebrød in Danish. It means something like Beer bread :)

Du kan altså ikke oversætte den danske saltkød til cornbeef...AD. Hvis en fra udlandet skal bruge saltkød så skal det forklares hvordan man laver dansk saltkød!
Det er det tætteste man kan komme. Corned beef har flere krydderier, men processen er den samme 😊

Sorry, you are mostly out of luck. The only vegetarian one would be sliced egg and tomatoes on a bed of lettuce and a dab of mayo on the top.
