The way Chozen goes from being uber serious to near clowning around brings a smile to my face.
Was almost as good as seeing Boba again👍
Me too...just a wonderful scene.
Same, it brings that late 80's cheese thats just full of happy feelings. I love this season so much.
Yeah, that was brilliant. In Karate Kid 2 at first he was kinda goofy. First thing he did was making fun of Daniel and smiling, and at the end he was angry and hungry for revenge. The way they reversed this here is fantastic.
When Chozen did the nose honk and laughed was crazy!!!
"If an enemy insists on war, then you take away their ability to wage it." That is awesome.

One of the finest redemption arcs in history.
Far better than Anakin’s
As fine as Zuko's redemption arc.
Though you don't see his redemption arc, you only see his beginning and his results, the end of the Arc. I would say it might make for an interesting series or movie.

After seeing the ending of the episode, I can only think about how Chozen was pretty much acting the entire time, playing the tough and serious man still holding the grudge just so he can completely troll Daniel and the fans in the end. That's dedication. Best character arc I've seen in a while next to Johnny.
Well, that's what you call, an act within an act.

New mature Chozen is flat out awesome. He's like the second chapter of Miyagi, but with way more edge.
We he knows the bad side and the good side very well

Really I think he's a mix of both Miyagi and Sato fused together.
He's basically the modern day Mr. Miyagi, continuing Daniel's training in Miyagi do karate
It was the coolest episode of the season.
No. Chozen is not Mr. Miyagi. Chozen wisdom is not even close than Mr. Miyagi. Even though his extensive knowledge about Miyagi - Do is broader now in Cobra Kai series.
But, like the Bartender ever said to Daniel while he is in Tokyo. There is a belief in Japanese culture that even the dead one still wants to reach their beloved one. So, possibly, Sensei Miyagi's soul still wants to help Danie, but at this time his soul reaches Daniel through Chozen. 😇

Pre-strike is the best defense against STRIKE FIRST.
No strike areas with pressure points as a last resort. That's what I would do. I will fight if I have to using defense and a bit of offense.
I love that the whole pressure point attack fits perfectly with the pacifist/self defense nature of myagi-do, while also making sense of why mr myagi didn't teach it to a 16 years old boy since it's very advanced and possibly detrimental if not used correctly.
I keep forgetting that both of them studied under two Miyagi-Do masters for years, albeit with teachers of opposite philosophies. The big difference is that Daniel took a long break from karate and Chozen never stopped, and he was also training since he was a kid. You can see how badly outclassed Daniel is against him.
It almost seems like the real Miyagi-Do technique is akeen to the "Assasin's Fist" technique that Street Fighter's Akuma and Gouken learned from their father/master... mr Miyagi chose to eradicate the deadly part of the art away from it like Gouken while Sato embraced it and passed it towards his nephew

Chozen is undoubtedly the most redeemed character in the Karate Kid/Cobra Kai universe.
That's true he's easily the most redeemed villain in this series. If I'm being honest though I never really disliked him in Karate Kid 2 either. Sure he was a bully and sure he had a very twisted version of honor but it sounds like most of the corruption came from his uncle. If Sato and Miyagi had made up them Chozen and Daniel probably could have been friends. If Daniel would let go of the anger he has towards Johnny then they could probably become friends like Chozen and Daniel currently are. Although Johnny would also need to let go of his grudge too though. The only kid villain who I feel could not be redeemed is Mike Barnes. That guy was easily the worst of the three he was like a more experienced version of Dutch. I really hope he returns in season 5.

Chozen beeing so happy when Daniel asks him to teach him. Small details like that is what makes this series epic.
1. Daniel is not too proud to ask and acknowledging he still needs to learn
2. Chozen is honored to be a teacher to a former adversary
@@fuzean1 He also knew that what Daniel told him about the two of them being basically karate cousins was the truth and this was his way of making up for the trouble he'd caused Daniel and Mr. Miyagi in the past. I truly believe even when he took the scroll from him and said foreigners couldn't have Miyagi secrets, he had every intention of giving it to Daniel. After he earned it.
Agreed!
Great acting, great writing respect to the lore. Karate Kid 2, Sato told Miyagi “ your student has become my teacher” 30 years later, Sato’s student becomes Daniel’s teacher. Just full circle

Not sure he would be able to counter it if Chozen was the one doing it to him.
@@RoyDallass Most probably he couldnt counter it. Daniel was confused when Johnny suddenly said "What the hell man?", lost his focus for 1-2 seconds and became overconfident. Then Johnny jumped in and took him to the floor.
Chozen would stayed focus all the time...besides all rivality Johnny and Daniel are friends, rivals but friends too. You cant fight 100% serious against someone you like
@@chrisbach1533 Yeah also Chozen has been training karate non-stop all his life while Johnny took a long break and has only recently gotten back into it.
@@RoyDallass I don't see why he couldn't, it's the exact same technique Daniel used.
I think “Defense takes on many forms” is the second rule of Karate that Mr. Miyagi never explicitly told Daniel, because he said “first learn rule number one.” It could be that Daniel never truly learned rule #1 since he was such a hot head who was prone to misusing Karate, like he did in KK3
Maybe he knew that Daniel was a hothead, and purposely didn't teach him the secret teachings in a way to help him find balance
@@ronjobimusic This is exactly what Chozen meant when he told Daniel that maybe Mr. Miyagi thought he wasn’t ready to learn the secrets he was showing him. He probably thought that Daniel would use the full teachings for all the wrong reasons
And he did, He used the pressure point technique in a karate match. Mr Miyagi would be disappointed in Daniel. Maybe even disown him as a student
@@menzerroku4708 agreed. He used the technique unethically. One thing I hope the show eventually addresses is the fact that Daniel is a moral busy body and a provocateur. He thinks that he is some kind of white knight on a quest to do good at all times, but just like Johnny says he has a problem leaving well enough alone when it comes to things that are none of his business. He needs to have a major comeuppance as a character, and hopefully Chozen helps him address that since he has already come of age, so to speak
@@menzerroku4708 Yeah he shouldn't have to use it when he fought with Johnny. But he was right when he use it with Kress.
Chozen tries to fight Daniel to death. Years later he gets over it like a grown ass man, and moves on. But Kreese can’t let go of his pride
Would be nice if Kreese did the same, he is so bitter about what happened in the past.
@@ThePollux23 People fail to realize that he's a product of the same thing he's doing to other people. A product of his time. You can talk about Kreese all you want, but you could never understand the detrimental effects of war. Not to mention being locked up as a PoW(prisoner of war). His own captain withheld the information of is girlfriend's car accident & untimely death just to use him for the mission. He wasn't cared about, seen as an individual. He was just another person to be manipulated for their strength. You can see how much that changes him, and how he begins to despise people as he stares down his captain. Before letting him fall into the snake pit.
@Benjamin Tyus That's one thing that I wasn't sure about what changed Chozen to kind hearted as Kumiko said that Chozen is a changed person. I can only guess that he changed because he was letting it go about his honor (he said he wanted to do a death match with Daniel because Daniel insulted his honor), or because the death of his uncle Sato brought sadness to him (even though Sato said that he is dead to Chozen meaning he doesn't care for Chozen anymore which angered Chozen) or because he was appreciative to Daniel for not murdering him in the death match even though Daniel had a perfect opportunity to murder Chozen (even though Chozen will call that "act of coward" since he said that to Mr. Miyagi when Mr. Miyagi had a perfect opportunity to murder Chozen with a spear). Kreese on the other hand was an army captain and a karate champion which is why Kreese doesn't let go of his pride.
It’s not pride that drives Kreese, he’s just batshit crazy.
Looks like Kreese will be a changed man once he gets a love interest with one of his student’s moms
I feel like Chozen's skill level is where Daniel would be at if he hadn't lost sight of what Miyagi-do had been teaching him all his youth. He's about Mr. Miyagi-level now that he's achieved his peace
I agree. Even with Daniel not having been taught by Mr. Miyagi at an earlier age than as a teenager, the way Mr. Miyagi taught Daniel, Daniel should've been much better. But yea...that losing sight will get a person every time.
Daniel will get there
I actually love that currently Chozen is the most powerful one in the series.
David Jin, Chozen is no where near miyagi’s level if he was Daniel would not have been able to remotely keep up with him
in part was that daniel wasn't mature enough to teach him something like that, chozen said that
A lot has been said about how Chozen is such a good sport about his grudge and he absolutely deserves props but credit to Daniel for having the humility and willingness to learn from the man who bested you and tried to kill you.
All round a great example of a healthy rivalry we can all learn from.
Daniel was already in the verge of breaking through. He understood he is hot headed, and instead of fighting it, decided to keep up the pace and take it to the next level. He wants to remove any need of being hot-headed, by simply being the most prepared at any given situation. Jhonny got to the same conclusion by a different path, they both embraced their nature, and decided to be the best version of themselves, instead of someone else, hence, forming the super-dojo. This is perhaps the greatest teaching of the series. Doesn't matter how you learn it, but that you learn it, and what you do with it.
The best part of this was to see how happy & honored Chozen felt when Daniel asked if he could teach him that technique. What a great series.
The man playing Chozen really delivered. He recaptured the menace of the old version of the character, then flipped the switch into a kindly, good natured master ala Miyagi himself. Really well done.

@@texasrockshillcountry6574 That would be a wonderful addition to the Miyagiverse
The greatest unspoken piece of lore in this is the fact Miyagi was a veteran who seen enough killing and what war does to humanity. Miyagi dedicated his life to peace while others in the story didn't and continued with war and destruction until it drove them mad.
Chozen on the other hand mastered his idiocy and learned to live.
Chozen was so deadly also because not only was he taught at such a young age and him being such a quick leaner and so skilled, that he rose through the ranks of Miyagi-Do karate and how he even trained the military police of Japan on how to fight, no wonder Chozen was such a menace.

Chozen's character in the film was a product of the time: He was written exactly like a mid-80s Saturday morning action cartoon villain. Arrogant, foolish, no redeeming qualities, 2-dimensional, unable to learn, must be defeated in combat to stop him.
It's remarkable what a great writing team can do with a character like this. In fact, if Cobra Kai hasn't done the backstory already, they could do a spinoff miniseries where a young and defeated Chozen gets picked up by a Buddhist temple or something.
Also love how Daniel goes to the birthplace of karate, even though that's a bit of a trope.

He wasn’t saturated in corrupted western society and it’s twisted ideals
@@Dmvgold1995 But Chozen did have a twisted view of honor though.
Daniel was always a hot head and short tempered. Part of the point of Cobra Kai is how these characters could have been or had the life of their enemy depending on who their teacher was.
Sato was full of hate when Miyagi came back to Okinawa in KK2. He was an arrogant, greedy, win at all costs businessman and his attitude greatly impacted Chozen.
Johnny could have been Daniel and Daniel Johnny if the circumstances were a little different and they had different teachers.
Daniel grew up kind of poor and became rich and Johnny grew up rich and became poor. Johnny teaching Miguel was basically like if a softer version of Kreese had trained Daniel. It's all about the importance of father figures and role models and how everyone sees themselves as the good guy in their own story. this scene is so beautiful about 2 old enemies becoming brothers damn near brings tears to my eyes every time
This was such an epic moment in this series. Chozen was introduced as perhaps one of Karate Kid's most ferocious and irredeemable character, and for the past thirty years, we have been wondering if he would come back to reap his revenge on Daniel. And in many ways, this was vengeance, for that annoying nose honk that Daniel gave him. But the most amazing thing is that Chozen has actually found his peace, when we all thought that he would continue to carry his uncle's hatred for Miyagi-Do Karate. But as it so happens, it was Daniel that was blind the whole time, because he was taught the self-defense area of Miyagi-Do Karate, not the offensive side of it, and when Chosen said that sometimes the best defense is offense, he could not be more right. Sometimes, it takes being willing to go on the offensive to protect your life than spend your days living on the defense. I can say without a shred of doubt that Chozen has become one of my favorite characters in this franchise, and he was already badass before when he was an antagonist, but now he's amazing as an ally and an actual teacher for Daniel.
Look, someone who's moved on and apologized for his mistakes. Unlike a certain war veteran who thinks we're still on a warfield...
I have an uncle who was in the Vietnam War and said that everyday he always thought about the day when his comrades pushed him out of a helicopter in order to save him and the words they said which are "you're still young and have a family so you should jump off." Then they threw him out before they started shooting off the enemies in order to distract them from killing him which ended up them getting killed. 'If an enemy insists on war, then you take away their ability to wage it'
It's a good philosophy for life, really. It also subtly shows us that the philosophies of Johnny AND Daniel are both correct: one should only be fierce in defense, but defense has many aspects to it and it's not about being passive all the time. The writing in this show is just absurdly good.
@@jakobfel2 As a boxer, I used something similar. When you throw a punch you have to rotate your hips (when throwing a straight right hand, a hook or an uppercut). The boxers who I've faced that use their hooks a lot. I always tended to target their hips because it's not below the belt. They insisted on war and by disabling their hips (for the fight), I took away their ability to wage it :)

What Johnny did was a reference to the first movie. He took Daniel down the way Daniel took him down to score his second point.
@@Flat115 just like I saw on the scene where johnny is holding the beer right?
@@kgmk1943 maybe. But looking back Daniel did hesitate a bit when going for the leg, giving Johnny somewhat time to counter it. Badass move I loved it
In this case, Chozen didn't really go for the leg immediately as well but Daniel was too freaked out to do anything.
I do love the fact that Chozen is, hands-down, the better fighter and basically hands Daniel his ass. Daniel is clearly only just getting back into karate, whereas Sato's teachings have become Chozen's career and lifestyle. It only makes sense that Chozen is now on another level than Daniel - and his changed personality and temperament says it all. He's no longer the young bully overcompensating for his insecurity... but a proud, confident man who has gained strength by conquering his own weakness. He's now essentially become Mr. Miyagi.
Tbh chosen was better than him when they was younger too
@@gjjijji Nah he better then him now but not when he was young.
@@ethankleinman1067 he’s better younger and older Daniel is a terrible fighter
@@gjjijji He may very well have been. He was certainly more athletic. But karate is 60% mental and all throughout Karate Kid 2, Chozen proved he was his own worst enemy... His arrogance and aggressiveness was such a thin facade covering deep insecurity and the typhoon sorta hammered home his cowardice.
@@gjjijji Chozen is a life student while Daniel started in his teens. Chozen was a legit Black Belt while Daniel would only legitimately be Yellow Belt (or Orange if you want to be generous) so ofcourse Daniel is no match for him. Anyone else came back to this clip, after season 4 ? It all make sense now with war
Chozen was the ONLY person to counter the crane kick as well as land a clean hit on Miyagi.
Daniel and Anthony also hits Miyagi too.
Through his violent past, he learned wisdom. That’s a true heroes journey.
Well he got a second chance and earned back his honor thanks to Sato.
Chosen has shown how he could turn a horrible past and a humiliating defeat into a story of triumph!
(Can we say "Spin-off"?!)
Yes like Thor in his first movie
Masters* journey.
Miyagi and Sato are smiling down on their students.
Daniel learning from Chozen is the best part of this season
Good scene. Too much stupid swearing in the comments section.
If Miyagi was still there he'll be proud of their friendship
For me, Miguel conquering his doubts and shortcomings to regain the ability to kick and knock out Kyler was the best
"Daniel learning from Chozen is the best part of this season" - That's actually a tough one. My personal favorite was the ending where 'Eagle Fang' merges with 'Miyagi Do'. But Chozen's redemption definitely is a good conclusion to the enmity in Karate Kid 2.
I absolutely love how he's a good guy now. Look forward to seeing him again in Season 5.
I think still Chozen is the best martial artist in the series.
You know that the Miyagi Do badassery is about to begin when the flute starts playing.
In my opinion, this was the best episode in the series. It was super important to show everyone that ANYONE can be redeemed. Chozen regaining his honor by doing right and Daniel by humbling himself to be taught by Chozen is a VERY important lesson for us all.
Chozen was literally like a video game character in the 2nd film.
"My entire journey, a lie. My pride and honor have been insulted and used against me. Sensai warned me not to join the path of betrayal, the boy has led me astray from my teachings. If sensai is not the bad guy, then DANIEL-SAN IS!!!"
But now, he saw the wrong in his ways and chose to find the way of true honor.
True, but only if you are genuine about it (ie. Kreese).
I agree. This was my favorite character arc of the season. I loved to see chozen regain his honor and have a chance to teach Daniel and have them depart amicably. This was such a great addition to the show.
I think Daniel asking him to teach him meant a lot since it game him a chance to prove and redeem himself to himself
Someone should tell those mma guys that. Till this day, there has been nothing more disgraceful to the martial arts than the arrogance and immaturity of Ronda Rousey. And many others but her name was the most famous.
I love how chozen starts laughing after he honks Daniels nose 😂
thy is your profile pic a bot?
Yeah, I think it was all an act from the moment he met Daniel again to the nose honking. After that the real Chozen came out. The man his is today. He psyched Daniel big time! lol Love it! :D
DJ Bowman I think so too. Just a beautiful scene.
"The look on your face 😧😧😧" 😂😂😂 loved it!!!!!!!!
He waited over 30 years to do that honk lol
Everything in this scene is epic, the time, the music (how it is intensified and changed), the voices in off, dialogues, angles of the camera, and on top of it, Chozen!!!
Chozen is like the second coming of Miyagi love the way his character thinks... "Defense takes on many forms" might be rule #2 actually
I can’t wait till Daniel tells his students that “defense takes many forms.”
Fr
the idea of a passive martial art is foolish the word "martial" itself means something appropriate to war,the reason why martial arts like aikido fail,is because sometimes you should not have compassion for the enemy, you should strike them down till your hand is painted in their blood
@@aestheticswim3397 no I disagree, any martial arts is for sked defense. Yes sometimes you have to finish them before they finish you however you must mentally win before you can win phisically
Johnny would love to be chozen's student.
Agreed along with how it compliments Johnny teaching the concept of sometimes you have to show no mercy in order to protect yourself and those you care about when given no options left.
"If an enemy insists on war, then you take away their ability to wage it, eh?"
That one line right there was the strongest line delivered this entire season.
This is also one of the greatest scenes this season.
Season 4 cannot, CANNOT come soon enough.
And they start filming it on the 21st of this month!
They’ve already started filming it my guy
We do this to WinnieTheFlu and the ChiCom bastards by not buying their craps.

Film season 4. And then SEND IT TO THE INTERNET!!!
Just like when Aang took away Ozai's bending.
I like how Chozen's still a badass, but he's not a douchebag anymore. People can change.
"Defense takes on many forms" Chozen is the great master of Cobra Kai ! He's reached another level!
Kreese's transformation from an idealistic youth in love into the hardened violent man he became and Chozen's transformation from a prideful disillusioned youth into a peaceful man is fantastic writing.
Talk about reverse..
There is no such thing as a bad student just bad teachers. Kreese's teacher his commander was an asshole but Chozens teachers were Miyagi Ancestors. I did not exactly get who they were but they were good as Mr Miyagi.
The writing was so good that Old Man Chozen became one of my favourite characters in one episode after they have spent an entire movie making him look bad :D
well at the time he was bad, he had grow up and become a much better man
NO, I GET DRINKS
I DON't DRINK

really, its not like they made it that way for a reason :]
@@Alcool53 If I compliment the writing, don't I simultaneously acknowledge that they intentionally made Chozen likable?
I mean, it possible, but hardly likely that someone accidentally wrote something, and that the producers accidentally shot the scenes while accidentally adding them to the final cut.
@@Shykeful no shit, doesn't take a scientist to understand a show haha
Chozen is some Jiraiya-level dude there.
He clowning around. But when things get serious, you know it's your end.
I ADORE this sequence. Chozen is clearly the better fighter because he has continued to diligently train, but Daniel also isn't a complete pushover. And Chozen, very importantly, forgives Daniel for the perceived insults when they were children, and Daniel humbly asks the better karate-ka to train him, without any of the hubris or ego that we see him sometimes show when dealing with Cobra-kai people (which is kinda understandable, considering that he's a lot more traumatized by those events than his experiences in Okinawa).
This is such a good show.
Chosen is now the strongest character in the entire franchise.
Well besides Miyagi, but he isn’t alive though.
I'm totally agree. Now he is the new Master Myagi ❤️
Kuwabara Kuwabara!
It would be so if they had Chozen and Kreese fighting each other. And as good as Chozen is he would totally destroy Kreese.
Let's not forget that he was the only person to ever land a hit on Mr. Miyagi

@@midnightfury4584 i think that miyagi never starts the fight, always hits after someone tries to hit him
Very cool discussion!
If the writers Schlossberg etc. are smart (and i am sure they are), i see only following scenario in the future:
After Silver and Barnes team up with Kreese, Johnny and Daniel are outmatched. Then its 3 vs 2, not chance for the 2.
If the writers are not smart, they bring Johnny´s buddy Bobby (the "priest") to help them. Otherwise IT HAS TO BE CHOZEN!
I see it coming:
Daniel and Johnny getting beat up by Kreese, Silver and Barnes, and Daniel gives Chozen a call to come to LA to help them and Miyiago Do to survive in America.
Chozen comes over, and teaches the kids in Daniel´s garden not just the defensive, peasfull Miyagi Do style, but also the one he taught to Daniel.
And later we gonna see something like:
1) Johnny vs. Kreese:
This match has to come since Cobra Kai was written for the Johnny character primary. To get his son back he has to beat Kreese once and for all.
2) Daniel vs Barnes:
Mike is still so mad at him since he lost to a cheap Kata, he was beating Daniel with ease before. Remember he was the toughest of all of Daniel´s opponents. When Daniel hit Chozen and Johnny they were hurt by it, but Barnes took all of Daniel´s shots and just eated them up without being hurt.
So Barnes wants to kick Daniel´s ass in a street fight, and Daniel can only win beacuse of the style Chozen taught him.
3) Chozen vs. Silver:
Silver is BY FAR the best and most dangerous of all the Cobra Kai fighters. Kreese was defated by Miyagi with ease, but even Silver could not land a blow on Miyagi, he gave him a better fight and was able to stand longer. Silva would eat Johnny and Barnes for breakfast.
Silver from what we know HATES all oriental/asien people, dont matter if they are from Vietnam, Japan or China.
And fight Nr. 3 would be THE BEST FIGHTER OF COBRA KAI vs THE BEST FIGHTER OF MIYAGO DO (Sato and Miyagi are gone), and Chozen would of course show Silver that ORIGINAL Karate from Okinawa is more offective as this AMERICAN Karate by Miyagi Do.
Your thoughts about that?

"If an enemy insists on war then you take away his ability to wage it."
That was very Mr. Miyagi-esque. Well done Chozen. He's really become something. I love the fact that he held nothing back with Myagi-Do. He would unleash it on his enemy at full capacity.
I knew there had to be that other side of Miyagi do karate, it was only a matter of time before it decided to show itself.
Very true but I think the films did hint that Miyagi, was holding back many times. He got the upper hand at Kreese and terry silver, if he wanted to kill he most def could have. It’s just as Chozen said something Miyagi didn’t want to teach Daniel, either to protect or shield him from what his Karate is capable of.
The spirit of Miyagi is with Chozen.
Chozen the unexpected hero we needed
True
I bet Chozen had prepared this acting (pretending like he's still angry at Daniel) just as much as he had been training.
Edit: DAMN, 1.2k!?
Absolutely HAHAHA
Well the thing I like about acts like this is in order to make a spectacular performance, you have to invoke a little truth into it. For example when he said "I waited a long time for this." that was the truth, he waited a long time to psyche Daniel like Daniel did him. That said, it makes sense why he'd act hostile to Daniel at first.
For starters, I believe he was savvy enough to know that Daniel was still mad at him for his actions. So naturally if he were to show up friendly, he wouldn't have believed him off the get go. The sparring and teaching as well as the joke, were meant to ease Daniel into the idea that he has changed after all.
Second, in Part II when he first met Daniel and Miyagi, he did act friendly to them, but it was a ploy to get them alone so Sato could confront Miyagi. Naturally if he acted like that again Daniel would thought he was tricking him right away. Which he was. Just not in the way Daniel expected.
Its hard to leave old habits behind
@@Shanethefilmmaker that's actually very detailed (I wasn't expecting that), but yup, long-story short, there's a certain history that cold back up the trick.
I like that Chozen showed his comical side to Daniel like we see in KK part 2, but it's out of a sense of camaraderie instead of mean spirit.
"You could've killed him, couldn't you?"
"Hai."
"Well, why didn't you then?"
"Because, Daniel-san, Mr Miyagi no want to pick up soap."
Stolen
Miyagi wouldn’t have to pick up the soap. He’d murder everyone in the yard.
BEST.COMMENT.EVER.
Hahaha lololol
Hilarious comment aside, as a kid I never noticed how absolutely sociopathic Daniel's line of questioning was in that moment. Geez, and that little doozy didn't even make it into the "Daniel is the Real Bully" video that I kind of suspect was the kindling that re-ignited this whole glorious 30+ years later direct sequel series.
Chozen was a very misunderstood and underrated character like Johnny. Glad he’s taking the Miyagi-mentor like role. Hope he’s back for Season 5.
As someone who has only watched Cobra Kai, I thought the nose honk was pretty funny. The writing celebrates its history unlike many franchises these days. It makes it super rewarding to go back and find out where all the OG references come from.
I'm actually glad that Chozen has made his peace with Daniel.
His uncle Sato would be proud
@Eric Santana Just like Kumiko said that Chozen is a changed person, something tells me that after Chozen lost the death match against Daniel he first passed out and when he woke up he became a changed person and he apologized to Kumiko and maybe he was also going to apologize to Daniel but unfortunately, Daniel and Mr. Miyagi must have caught the next flight at night back to California and with Daniel returning to Okinawa, that gave Kumiko the opportunity to call Chozen to talk to Daniel.

I think Daniel should have said something about how he was glad Chozen had found peace and redemption. He should also have acknowledged him as ''sensei'' when they parted, as he did teach him additional techniques.
Cant wait for chozen to do the secret pressure points move on silver in season 5
Seeing Chozen again was such a delight, love that actor. He's so wonderful in everything he does. What a beautiful, though short, redemption arc the character had. Loved how he basically trolled Daniel with his sour demeanor until he could play his joke, then became a warm friend. I really hope we get to see him again in season 4.
