@Turquoise Cheetah That isn't stupid logic at all... Look at how badly The Sims 3 ran, the game gets endless (crash to desktop) even without mods on high end PCs. @Liquid modernity tastes like urine We may have 10 times more powerful hardware, but it is very unlikely that the users playing The Sims updated their hardware since 2009 especially if they are using a MAC. The gaming community isn't ready for a life simulation because they aren't ready to invest in a CPU capable of running a life simulation!

Dallyink well the skill tree is so much more advanced than sims 3. There are like twice the amount of spells, different classes, there’s a rank system with perks, it takes time to become a great spellcaster, there are long lasting reprocusions, and like LGr said in there’s a cycle of destroying yourself to get better. The sims 4 has more in depth story possibilities, it just isn’t set up from the start
Nathan C it’s just a joke because they sometimes put a ridiculous amount of new chairs in packs. if you watch some of the other reviews of the packs you’ll see
For anyone that's having the problem that all the pudding's ( townies, premades, whatever your nickname for the sims ea made lol) instantly pop into the magical realm and poof themselves into casters, there are one or two mods/patch fixes at mod the sims. Extra useful if you want only your selected sims to become magic users.

They've been lazy with sims 4 entirely. This neighborhood, the vampire one, and get to work only has like 4 lots? and we can't even create our own lots? wtf
There are some real issues with this pack though - "new counters" (a reskin) but no matching cabinets. Townie Sims randomly becoming spellcasters and breaking people's games by summing multiple duplicates into existence. Doors and windows that don't suit the different wall heights. Curtains that match some windows but no others. And in the Glimmerbrook world a house with steps at the back, that don't lead to a back door. There's some definite quality control issues.
+ a few new bugs that were added to the game! We also need new mods to fix things that should have been implemented with the pack, like a switch in the game to control the spellcasters.
WeStanPeppaQween There is a lot missing. The number of packs has got nothing to do with the amount of content and gameplay anymore sadly.... TS4 is a crazy expensive game already and I dare not imagine how much the whole thing will cost when we get the packs that we’re still missing.
@A real bisexual petrol-head The next game is always in development. Takes too long to make a game - they gotta start years before it's planned to be released. Hopefully they either design a better game engine, or pick one that allows much more flexibility then the one used in Sims4. The current one is way too limited and/or hard to develop for.
RacerX780 Honestly if they just remade Sims 3 with the moods, multitasking and character creator of Sims 4 I think everyone would be satisfied. No need for any new sims games ever.
Another CAS item in this pack that I never see people mention is the new elf ears you can give your sim. I had this pack over a year before I realized that.
F. Funez the sims 3 expansion packs had also fairies, werewolves and vampires and lots of other stuff included. Therefore totally worth the 40 euros 🤷🏼♀️
I loved magic in the Sims, the sims 1 & 3 did it best (Sims 2 always seems so much effort) this just looks awful though & the scenery always seems so clunky and thrown in, probably a door somewhere leading right into a fence like in the other worlds. I'm surprised season wasn't split into 4 game packs...
Because that would have been pointless and stupid, even for EA. Forcing you to play with a season or two while the others are in the making. They knew that would have caused havoc if they had done it.
@@LWolf94 pointless and stupid hm, have you ever heard of My First Pet Stuff? EA does a lot of stupid things. Or remember the talking toilets or the one swatch they so heavily advertised :D
@@TheGiraffenGirl Yeah pretty much the reason why another "My first Pet" never happened. People were outraged (even though they still bought it...) And I liked the talking toilets thank you very much. xD Made my sim even more reluctant to leave their house.
TheGiraffenGirl haha right? They’re already doing it, anything to make a quick buck. I miss the sims 1, I think people would be shocked to see the variety you had with only 7 games, that’s right everyone, literally only 7, full expansions. To put that into perspective TS4 has over double that In stuff packs alone...
This was my most anticipated pack and I'm overwhelmed. The magic feels so isolated. Like the ONLY place people practice magic is through the portal and not out and about. Like NPC don't really react to magic and no one seems to do magic on you on their own. There is very little progression or consequence for using magic aside from curse. Potions are OP.
At this point we need another development team to come along and make a clone of The Sims. Combining elements from sims 3 (such as the open world and general interactions) and elements from sims 4 (the ability to cook whatever you want whenever you want, ease of building, collectables are a bit easier to find, and the multitasking function.)
who else remembers sims 2 witches/wizards and you can go to either the light or dark realm depending on which type your sim was. it was also not its own EP, but included in city living which had other amazing things! sims 4 could never
Way more enjoyable, the game is slow at times but, it's a lot more adventurous. Grateful I watched this before purchasing anything. I'll stick with Sims 3 and make the world more fun by exploring new and cheap expansion packs.
Ahh, The Sims. Strip every single part from the game and leave only a "base game" husk to sell for 60 dollar. Once people realize there's nothing in the base game, you release a DLC for 20 dollars with a few parts you previously scrapped! Glorious. Now every minor idea or patch will just be a 20 dollar DLC because players are desperate for content and why not! Free cash. If anyone new seriously wants to get into a Sims game, get a previous version or even one before that, and only during a Steam -75% off sale, for the full package which will include all the 100's of DLCs, and you'll probably be able to experience the full game for a reasonable price.
I used to play sims 1 as a kid but moved countries etc so I didn’t continue. I’m considering getting into it again but EVERYONE complains about sims 4 so I’m considering sims 2 or 3 (leaning towards 2)... maybe I should just wait for sims 5?
And then they taunt us with a million references to Harry Potter in the pack! Would have been really revolutionary, if the sims 4 had done more then a past sims game this time but alas it's the sims 4 we're talking about here.
TheGiraffenGirl stephOsims pointed out that this pack is based off Harry Potter, the biggest movie about wizards and they are kids. But if you want more based items I highly recommend Henry puffer stuff pack

Clint, I cannot help but notice that even when you are reviewing something you are fed up with (like The Sims 4) you still deliver "documentary voice" videos, and that's awesome. I guess what I like the most from LGR is its calm nature and knowing it won't get on my nerves. Thanks a lot for the quality content. 👍🏼
This seems to hit the same spot that Vampires did for me. Namely, some content seems tempting, but two things keep me from actually wanting it. One, while it does add fleshed-out spellcasters, it doesn't seem to add much... else. The magical world is woefully underwhelming, clothing options lacking (Seriously? Not a single hat?), content bleeding over where it shouldn't because who can be bothered to put that much thought into a Sims 4 pack, etc. The result is basically a series of cheat codes with pretty visuals and a set means of unlocking them, much like a more elaborate version of the dragons in Dragon Valley. Yeah, they're neat and all, but it's basically just a plate with one really tasty piece of meat on it, but the rest of the meal is either not satisfying or not there at all, which only ends up being a major disservice to the experience of eating the piece of meat because you feel like you're not getting the experience you should. Two, it's still Sims 4. So while the magic powers look neat, they're still given to and used on Sims 4 sims. In Sims 4 worlds. Which hasn't been made appealing to me no matter how many patches and DLC they add. If this was provided as a Sims 3 pack, I'd probably be all over it even with most of the content being pretty lacking. There's enough bulk to the game and its other packs already that the features that ARE being offered would still be fun to play with. But I just don't see myself having fun with a pack when I don't have fun with the base game, which has kept me away from every single Sims 4 pack so far. Really, the only reason I even watch these is because LGR is fun to watch. So yeah... The pack is in a strange area where I know it wouldn't be fun to play with, but it looks like it COULD have been fun. Which makes me want something I can't have because it doesn't exist, and feel frustrated about that. It's like they managed to sell me on a product they're not even selling.
Amen! Resuming: nothing seems really fun on TS4. It doesnt matter what they bring up, the base game sucks. I love TS3 and I wish they would bring fast TS5 because the "new" one sucks.
Possible rework ideas; Wands and familiars should give boost to a specific school of magic instead of everything. This would give more incentive to have multiple artefacts and add depths to the gameplay. Also, they should add other spell animations depending on what type of spell is being cast and by what catalyst. Additionally, they should add jobs (psychic hotline, occult detective, etc) and the ability to creat a portal to the magic realm by binding an object (closet, shower, etc).
Wish they'd get busy with the other things Paralives is promising. The stairs we got look like Lego, just square; no rounded landings, no ability to split level, not much in terms of customization. Build/buy could be epic in TS4 if they'd focus on it more instead of impressing teens/twenty-somethings with influencer lure.
I was so disappointed in this. The realm of magic world was absolutely gorgeous, the furniture and clothes gorgeous and it had a lot of fun features. But it was so easy. And it didn't take many hours to get around all it had to offer, without cheats. It's 20 dollars. That's a lot of money. This is so lackluster. There are free mods out there with more balanced content and more elaborate gameplay than this.
i always ALWAYS wait until your reviews come out to spend my hard earned money on new sims packs and expansion. you are the man my dude. thank you for saving me a crap ton of money 👊
Oh man! I'd love an LGR Plays of this. The level of shenanigans here for your sense of humor's pleasure seems like great entertainment. I always crack up at your Sims play style.
What is there to talk about? There's nothing of substance yet, just a partial building simulator. For a life simulation game, it's very much lacking in life or simulation.
@@SennaAugustus My thought exactly, people are so desperate for competition they'll let a sketchup wannabe become the competition even tho it's unlikely it will work with so much freedom on buildmode, I wish rockstar or anyone who has the resources could come up with their own version of the sims, the sims needs it.

The Sims 4 will be no different and it is a fact that most of the Sims 4 playerbase is women and children that know absolutely nothing about computers and are using computers with 4GB of ram with an integrated graphics processor, and a low end Intel CPU.
@Liquid modernity tastes like urine We may have 10 times more powerful hardware, but it is very unlikely that the users playing The Sims updated their hardware since 2009 especially if they are using a MAC.
Take a look at the Steam hardware statistics, more than 50% of users only have 4 Physical CPUs and 36% of users still only have 8GB RAM! The gaming community isn't ready for a life simulation because they aren't ready to invest in a CPU capable of running a life simulation!
30th pack?? To get the “full experience” people may very well drop half a grand on this game. And no one outside of the community is talk about how ridiculous this game is.
Its over 600€ to get the full experience at full price, i n s a n i t y
It’s not really any different the halo , and destiny. I get most things half off unless I really want it . I have most likely spent like $359 or so, and honestly I’m ok with it as I enjoy the packs

ACTUALLY HAPPENED
(Yes i know this joke has been used mutiple times)
I dunno, it seems like everything is implemented worse and they didn't really do anything to make up for it.
Raise your own dragons with unique features=Familiars that do nothing
Entirely new location that's like a weird carnival with things you can only do there=A couple set dressing shops to buy garbage
Duels where you get to actually play and use the right spells to win=Watching the same animation 1000 times and winning by chance
Potions to change sims into different creatures, turn them to gold, improve work performance, etc=Potions that change mood and relationship
It just goes on and on like this. What does it offer that's actually interesting and a good replacement for things we had before? It's very uninspired and the bare minimum in terms of gameplay.
Well if you ignore everything they’ve improved, then yeah it looks like that, obviously
@@bobturner2312 Which would be what exactly? The empty world and some of the animations are subjectively prettier but other than that I'm drawing a blank.
The sims 4 has more in depth story possibilities, it just isn’t set up from the start

it's scary how many expansions there are now, almost makes buying the game at this point unappealing and very expensive

It's $1000 dollars now.
only interested in this new pack if there’s new chairs 😩
@Flashing Colors This made me hysterically laugh out loud at work.
There are a few thankfully.
Why what's so good about chairs? As u can tell I don't play Sims.
That might be the next expansion Sims 4 Get Chairs

For anyone that's having the problem that all the pudding's ( townies, premades, whatever your nickname for the sims ea made lol) instantly pop into the magical realm and poof themselves into casters, there are one or two mods/patch fixes at mod the sims.
Extra useful if you want only your selected sims to become magic users.
Who the fuck calls them puddings?

I hate this game so much, but simultaneously love these reviews to death.
same here used to like it until EA got a hold of it

The best thing to come from this pack was Morgyn Ember. Literally one of the coolest townies in the game
I had him show me his formal wear and i swooned
There are some real issues with this pack though - "new counters" (a reskin) but no matching cabinets. Townie Sims randomly becoming spellcasters and breaking people's games by summing multiple duplicates into existence. Doors and windows that don't suit the different wall heights. Curtains that match some windows but no others.
And in the Glimmerbrook world a house with steps at the back, that don't lead to a back door.
There's some definite quality control issues.
+ a few new bugs that were added to the game! We also need new mods to fix things that should have been implemented with the pack, like a switch in the game to control the spellcasters.
That is what modders are for. Geez, they should get paid for doing EA's fucking job.
Yay been dying to see your review! And holy crap, 30th pack...damn, the milk is real.
The sims - The great grandfather and progenitor of today's 'microtransactions', and 'surprise mechanics'!
And this dumb community wants even more. They say there's still a lot left with Sims 4 I-
WeStanPeppaQween There is a lot missing.
I’m so glad you revived Ralph as a Sim
It reminds me so much of the nostalgia critic
I didn't even notice that! :D

Sims 3 vs Sims 4 in a nutshell
It’s so true
make more videos
sims 3 was a 40 dollars expansion pack, sims 4 is a 20 dollar game pack, if you are gonna hate at least do it correctly.
There's no door leading into a fence, but in one of the premade houses there is a staircase in the back that leads literally nowhere.
@@TheGiraffenGirl Yeah pretty much the reason why another "My first Pet" never happened. People were outraged (even though they still bought it...)
And I liked the talking toilets thank you very much. xD Made my sim even more reluctant to leave their house.
TheGiraffenGirl haha right? They’re already doing it, anything to make a quick buck. I miss the sims 1, I think people would be shocked to see the variety you had with only 7 games,
that’s right everyone, literally only 7, full expansions.
Honestly, I've been waiting for the sims 5 since the sims 4 first dropped. That's how much I'm fed up with this game.
Prepare for more disappointment from EA... :-/
Just remember to preorder it from piratebay, or g2a :)
Probably not going to happen as EA killed Maxis who were the primary game coders. Now they just add extensions
This series can just die at this point.
At this point we need another development team to come along and make a clone of The Sims. Combining elements from sims 3 (such as the open world and general interactions) and elements from sims 4 (the ability to cook whatever you want whenever you want, ease of building, collectables are a bit easier to find, and the multitasking function.)
who else remembers sims 2 witches/wizards and you can go to either the light or dark realm depending on which type your sim was. it was also not its own EP, but included in city living which had other amazing things! sims 4 could never
You know it's a good pack when the only thing I am excited about in it's review are configurable stairs, witch aren't even a part of the pack...
"I don't have time to play with myself"
I love the consistent Nukem references over the years
Yay! I was waiting for you. I'm not necessarily sold on these releases, but am absolutely loving your reviews on them.
I will admit that my guilty pleasure is watching your Sims 4 videos, albeit having never touched the game itself. Thank you for creating them!
I was wondering where you went lol. I've been binging lgr like crazy and was wajting for the next video!! Awesome. I love the lgr channel!!!
The sims.. how to suck more money out of a stone... ;)
Hey, The Sims 3 Supernatural was very dedicated to that ideia too! There was lots to do with magic there, not only the magic creatures
Supersaurus I came here to say that! As soon as he said there hasn’t been one since Making Magic, I was like, “supernatural doesn’t count?” 🤔
I think he meant packs dedicated to one occult group. Supernatural was a mix of four or five

Never have I clicked so fast on a video on the sims. I think it’s ridiculous that there is nothing for children
@@yeeeeehawwwwww5194 Thanks for the recomendation. I already have that Pack and it's way better than any stuff pack the sims 4 has ever released, really charming, and creative.
Sadly, it's been that way since Sims 2
Someone made a pufferhead CC pack that looks pretty awesome.
The gnome getting hit by the car and the child screaming was the peak of this video overall and with this pack I’ll do whatever I can to recreate this beautiful moment.
I don't play Sims games at all. But everytime LGR puts out an expansion review, I'm there everytime.
His reviews are so epic.
Same, I have no problem with the Sims series but it just isn't something I'm that interested in playing. But reviews and stuff on it are interesting to watch
This pack is so underwhelming vs Sims 3 Supernatural or Sims 1 Makin Magic....
@Onion Face or the enchanted gnome that got wasted from the nectar press xD
I really like your content, you do a great job.
Great to hear about those new chairs, that really sold me on the game
Oh How I've waited for this! Lemme get my popcorn.
This actually looks like a really fun pack! The ability to make chili in a cauldron, cause chaos with spells and magic AND sit comfortably makes it worth the 20 bucks...just wish I could woohoo with myself 😩
You can... Wicked whims mod. Your welcome
OooOoOo i have been checking back for a while for this review - I havent been able to play sims from my corrupted computer so I went out and got a new one from rewatching all your reviews haha.
Thank you so much 💖💖💖
Clint, I cannot help but notice that even when you are reviewing something you are fed up with (like The Sims 4) you still deliver "documentary voice" videos, and that's awesome.
I guess what I like the most from LGR is its calm nature and knowing it won't get on my nerves.
Thanks a lot for the quality content. 👍🏼
I want to wish LGR and all the viewers a good day bc we've been blessed with another LGR Sims review
Your comment made me feel like i was listining to "erina nakiri" from food wars!!!
the sims 3 supernatural was a godsend... it was beautiful, the world, the items....
*I made Sabrina Spellmen and instead of using the sink, I just had her use the fire spell to clean the dishes.* xD
Possible rework ideas;
Wands and familiars should give boost to a specific school of magic instead of everything.
Your review videos are a godsend when looking for honest, no bs, cut to the point information about the packs! Thank you.
"Free configurable stairs"
Hmmm... it's almost like EA is worried about some up-and-coming competition... wonder what that could be...
@@MieSyzygy At least it's something. Not like it'll matter much once Paralives drops. 😉
Thanks to both of you for letting me know about Paralives, it completely went past me somehow and sounds pretty promising so far!
I don't think EA would drop L-shaped stairs as their big comeback against Paralives
WOW this did not age well
I feel like this pack could have been easily combined with vampires and given a different title. Im not really interested in this pack at all
This is my favorite Sims 4 reviews channel on UA-cam.
Just like with the Vampire pack, the magic system looks great. The only downside is it's in the Sims 4 😭
Hi, I am waiting for your Sims 4 Discover University review to see if i should get the game. Thank you and hopefully you are making one.
8:09 The terrified screaming of the child omg this pack is amazing 😂
Oh wow
As for having relationships with your duplicates, I'm sure someone will make a mod for it
i always ALWAYS wait until your reviews come out to spend my hard earned money on new sims packs and expansion. you are the man my dude. thank you for saving me a crap ton of money 👊
Oh man! I'd love an LGR Plays of this. The level of shenanigans here for your sense of humor's pleasure seems like great entertainment. I always crack up at your Sims play style.
I'd love to hear our thoughts on Paralives. There's a really good chance I'll be putting sims out to pasture if/when it comes out lol
What is there to talk about? There's nothing of substance yet, just a partial building simulator. For a life simulation game, it's very much lacking in life or simulation.
same, I'm so awaiting this day!
@@SennaAugustus Yep people are riding it's horse.
@@SennaAugustus oh I totally see where you're coming from, I'm just hopefully optimistic lol
I’ve stopped looking through subscriptions months ago, but you’re someone I’ll always come back to check for new videos
you are hilarious, stay awesome
They should’ve added witch and wizard hats
perhaps they wanted it to be accurate to actural witchcraft practices?
would be a weird choice tho to make the clothing/accessories accurate
but then have completely rediculous spells and potions that would never acturally exist
You literally gave the most comprehensive review I've seen since the pack came out. Theres things I didn't even know existed. Definitely thinking about buying

Okay. Video watched. First, if you read this, I love your reviews. You have an honest and detailed look at each pack, and you’ve helped me add to my sims world without spending money on useless packs. Where we differ is the magic and silly aspects; I can’t get enough magic in my sims games. This pack will be an easy must-have for me, even if it turns into nothing but chaos and sims setting everything on fire.
I can’t wait to see you run this on MS-DOS!
I've been waiting for an LGR review of this pack since it was announced. Seriously, why do I physically get so excited to see your reviews of the sims game??
1. Take an expansion pack from TS3
2. Do the same things but with more features
3. Profit.
I've always liked the 3rd game better anyways
Take a sims 3 expansion. Recreate it in a lesser unfinished way, but with prettier environments. Leave out a key features that people expected to be in the pack and sell it for more then in the past. Watch dumb simmers and gamechangers eat it up!
A lot of the expansions for Sims 3 went on sale, I guess because of this pack releasing. I just bought those instead.
Finally! I always look for your reviews before I buy the games, thank you!
This is where I go whenever I consider buying a pack! Thanks LGR.
I wonder what's going to get released first, Half Life 3 or The Sims 5
