As a drummer, and someone who works with a lot of producers and people in the industry. I can say honestly every band out there uses triggers for their bass drum. It's not cheating it's just making sure they have a full sound for fast playing. Nothing wrong with that.

Isaiah Wootton Yes, it is not really cheating, i agre. But drums don't sound like that during fast kick playing. It's just not what drums sound like. I would brefer compression to still keep the real drum tone.

+Isaiah Wootton I mean, that's what people mean when they say "cheating" they're saying that they can't get a full sound for fast playing without the triggers. I think triggers have a definite purpose in the studio and live, but if you're using them to compensate for your own ability to hit the drums hard enough, you should maybe slow down your playing a bit.

Brandon, please never lose your passion for drums or metal. when you rejoined polyphia last year i was completely stoked; you guys were the one of the best bands i had discovered in a very, very long time and i had hoped everything was going to work out. but now i'm bummed again.
