@@BrandonBurkhalter omg he commented Brandon, please, you uploaded a cover of the song I'm Low on Gas and You Need a Jacket by Pierce the Veil. That was by far my favorite version of that song, ever, I loved it more than the original. If there is any way you could reupload it it would mean the world to me. Long time fan, you're amazing dude, keep up the work. You're an inspiration to me.
I have never seen anyone who play like you before. Your compositions and playing exude emotion without any superfluous, performance action. You are precise and technical as a machine, yet you emanate passion both for and through your craft. You must never stop writing. Never stop playing. If you did, the world would be a dimmer for it.
Even tho I've listened to this song hundreds of times it never gets old. Hate to say but I can tell that a lot of early polyphia was all composed by you.
Even tho i commented a copel of years ago. Still flawless. Still amazing. And il always watch and listen. Even listen in my car and ambulance and my patents like it. Congrats.
Steve Vorass Yes, actually, it is a robot. We call that quantizing. Notice how there's no mics on the drums, yet everything sounds super clean and precise? LIKELY the drums were recorded beforehand, the hits were quantizied or "lined up", and the cymblas were likely recorded on a separate track. Sorry to ruin the magic.
It's an official video, not an "live in the studio" video. Of course there are no mics on the drums, same as in many other videos there are unplugged guitars. That doesn't mean that he uses the quantizing.
David Erro That's why I said "likely". Just saying, in studio it's a common practice, I'd be surprised if there wasn't editing. Even with gates, compression, gain staging, and eq, it's pretty difficult to get drums and cymbals sounding that clear and crisp without editing or running multiple tracks.
Dont really wanna be that guy but this is way better than post-Inspire Polyphia. This must have been one of those 'conflicting directions' they mentioned- glad to see Brandon stuck with it. Feels fresh.
I don't want to say that the guys in Polyphia aren't talented, because they are, but the new direction they've gone is so uninspired (pun intended) and it just lost what made them "them", you know? I just can't listen to the new stuff, it's all too happy and poppy for my tastes. Inspire was that really nice, djenty/ambient prog metal sound that got me into them, and then I was rather quickly let down by the debut album (though it wasn't quite as meh as the newer stuff).
I too like to listen to the same sounds over and over again without any change because change=bad. Amirite guys? (It was called "the most hated" for a reason)
Change can be good but when you completely morph your sound from an inspired (pun intended again) djent/prog rock fusion sound that was so beautifully complex, and change it into a boy band-esque rock band with a bunch of shredding for the sake of shredding, that's where I have to draw the line personally. Don't get me wrong, the dudes in Polyphia are extremely talented, I just preferred their sound when Brandon was still involved.
I figured you did, because they're on what, the third consecutive release now that sounds the exact same? The issue I had with the shift in sound was that Muse was a crowdfunded record based off of Inspire. People that pledged into Muse did so because they liked the sound of Resurrect and Inspire, and then got shat on when the record they contributed to wound up being drastically different. Re-read what was said, the gripe is that it's not fresh, it's not different, it's not interesting. "fuck new Polyphia dude shit is so BORING" Nobody's saying "I hate it cause it's different." In fact, in my comment, I stated that that was why I liked this release from Brandon. It's different. It's interesting.
2:20 to 2:40 literally gives me chills every fucking time. I have been listening to this EP non stop and gets me so psyched to write my own stuff. Keep it up man!
If you watch the sticks from 2:40 to end, it looks like he's just sitting there effortlessly where as they look like something from the matrix sped up. Freaking amazing and precise playing. You never let us down. 11/10.
I've been drumming and watching everyone on the internet and I've never found tracks or playing quite like this. I am astounded and utterly amazed at the ability of Brandon. Well Done i am subscribing right now :)
I'm 3 years late but dude you have such interesting technique. Your hands move so differently than any other drummer I've seen. The finger work is incredible. And that is a THICC snare.

that's one hell of a comeback for a long time
Why did he left tho
@@sharp6193 artistic difference. he doesnt like where the band is heading. well its a good thing he left. polyphia is now a sell out.
@@timawa16 Changing styles doesn't mean selling out. You'd really prefer that they still make the same uninspired instrumental death metal?
This new Final Fantasy track sounds so fucking BADASS!
When Final Fantasy 15 comes to PC i'm gonna import the whole album into it tbh.
Polyphia drummer goes solo. nice drumming by the way
thank you!

This dude went from Polyphia straight to making a Kingdom Hearts soundtrack
Hahaha
Holy shit, I didn't know a song with no words could give me such feels.
JoshHolman313 Listen the band Polyphia then.
How do you think I know who Brandon is?
Idk, I'm guessing Polyphia? Lol
Precisely. lol
JoshHolman313 Well there ya go lol
Anyone notice there are no mics? If he is playing along to a prerecorded track, it's mind blowing how accurate he is.
😏😏😏
He has “in-ears” black ones. His hairs hiding them most of the time but they’re there. A good pair of in ears will change your life playing live 😊
That’s normally how it works yep
Still one of my favorite videos on the tube
Wow the impossible art of knowing your parts and playing them in time

Unreal, Brandon. Can't wait to hear the rest
This shouldve been a top 40 hit. Absolutely beautiful playing and technical at the same time.
This is a phenomenal drum performance. Incredibly high level drumming. 👏👏👏🤘🤘🤘

You know, halfway through the video i said "wow the lack of double bass is surprising" and then ya hit me in the face. Fantastic stuff bro
Except that he's actually playing half the notes you here....
Bodomarshall * nope I'm pretty sure he's playing super fast doubles, two strokes per foot like an open roll. He's legit.
yeah he's using heel toe, like he does in all of his videos lol

so lovely to hear your hand playing that drum with a nice rhythm

This kid is a freaking machine. With a metronome built in. Ridiculous talent. We all get one in our lifetime eh? Awesome.
Graças a Deus o UA-cam me recomendou esse vídeo. Que música e que linha de bateria, parabéns.

Jesse Rayner don't you mean quantizing, cause quantizing lines everything up on the beat
Juwan Chalmers Yep! Made the correction. Thank you. Had the wrong word stuck in my head.
