Once the car is sold, and the buyer is in another state, how do you deal with the pink slip? Do you send it certified once the funds have cleared? And should you enter the amount it sold for, on the pink slip? Thanks.

Great video! I know you mentioned the $79 fee, are there other fees to pay like 12% of the sale for example?
Thank you Rich, no other fees involved except if you use other escrow or merchant services. I personally accept cashier checks and meet buyer at their bank to confirm identification and funds by their bank’s teller.

Very helpful video, many thanks! Here's a question. Do you work with small dealerships to sell vehicles on consignment? Would you recommend this and what types of fees do they charge? I'm a tech who buys "mechanic specials", fixes them and resells. The hardest part is the reselling! Too many tire kickers (the online version also) who aren't really serious but are "window shopping". I'd enjoy a way to subcontract the selling part out, if it could be done at a reasonable price.

I have been asked to do that before- only thing that would be the issue is having a vehicle listed online to be set aside and not sold on lot in meantime due to ad fees involved. Typically 5% of sold amount after ad fees, etc. I hear ya- the only way I have found serious buyers is by listing just under current market values and selling vehicles with high market demand. So if you choose the $79 option, that is the only charge and there is no final selling fee, correct? Is there a fee for EBay collecting the payment and then forwarding it to your bank account? Thanks!
Hi Arthello, correct that there is no final value fee for eBay Motors after the upfront fee, but if you use Paypal or eBay managed payments (even with the deposit feature- then you will pay a fee for their merchant services.). I recommend to collect payment in person with cashier’s check at the buyer’s bank to verify funds. Or collect via wire payment and make sure to confirm it has cleared first. Hope that helps!

So a women is selling me her car through eBay motors but their charging me 1000 dollars first then I'll receive the car for a 5 day test drive then pay the rest if I want to keep the car. Do you think that is legit and not a scam?

I have a car listed for sale on eBay motors. It’s at a fixed price , or best offer of $55,000. I listed it using the $79 option. If my vehicle were to sell at that price, what other fees would I have to pay? What would also be the safest way of payment for this type of transaction? Thank you
Hello- the only other fees inside eBay Motors would be if you have set to collect deposit/payment options inside eBay Motors. Some may say safest is using the escrow.com services option inside your payment options. I prefer going to buyers bank and verifying funds with buyer and their bank teller first then accepting cashier’s check or wire. Then sign papers and give over keys. Good luck on your listing!
@@PaladinGlobalMarket But what if the buyer is from out of state and not local? That's great if you're only dealing with local buyers. Not everybody wants to fly in from out of state
@@FueledBy.Passion then in that case, I wait till the wire transfer clears, according to the banks directive for the safe zone for transfer to protect from fraud, then after that, they can coordinate transport. I have found when dealing with the public. It’s a fine line between protecting from fraud and not scaring the buyer by keeping their vehicle too long after payment received. Ir’s a delicate balance. Great question.

konnichiwa from japan. is it possible to sell cars on ebay from japan? found a used car guy here in kobe, who has some very cool (yellow) type R volvo 850 wagons on his lot for nearly a year now. I know they are sought after in the wes, so i wanted to sell them on consignment for him on ebay motors. would that be possible?

Hi Judith, you can either email them to your son and he can pull into the listing draft. Or you can log into the ebay app on your phone with his log in and then pull them in from there. Hope that helps.

Hi Nick, I was doing some research since each state and counties have different rules, it would truly depend. Also the buyer would need to be aware of head time, if your DMV says you don't need one. I would recommend calling your local county DMV for further confirmation for your location. Good luck.
I was not clear on what I need or wonder- is it OK with ebay to sell a sand rail VW with no title as yet. Another fellow and myself built it! it is a offroad car, I have been to the DMV 6 times and 625.00 costs & no title so I do not want to try anymore! thank you so much Nick Wiese
@@nickwiese7415 oh i see what you’re saying, my misunderstanding. That is a great question that I have not encountered yet. I tried creating a listing today in ebay motors for a vw dune buggy to see if it would let me upload without a Vin and it gave me an error, but was from my mobile device. So want to try again but from my laptop- in the meantime if you do and have success, please let me know.
