You forgot about tavern style pizza. Now everybody knows Chicago deep dish /Chicago stufffed pan pizza. That's the tourist trap thing, it's okay. ONCE in a blue moon it's okay too have. Everybody in the city has their favorite neighborhood pizza PLACE. I made pizzas for 40-plus years.
True Chicagoans probably think this place is trash, but I had an Italian beef from Portillos about 10 years back when I visited, and it was one of the best things I ever ate. There are plenty of Philly cheesesteak places here in California, but zero Italian beef. I think the Italian beef easily beats a cheesesteak.

Did they relax their policy, lol? Also, the owners were Maurie and Flaurie Berman. Looks like they both passed on 7 and 10 years later, respectively. At least they remain in memory on the rooftop.

But honestly, they are all so good and you never appreciate just how great until you move away, and you get Hog Dog withdrawals and there isn't anywhere around you to fix it!!
