I bought this for 15$ and while it does use some assets, it's actually quite good. I'll give an honest assessment, at around 100hrs of play time, detailing some pros and cons. *What this game has/does that is good/different?* - It's a large open world, with different biomes that scale with level, that has progression, depth and very deep crafting and building systems. You have access to a deep research tree, and you can specialize your character with talents boosting your capabilities in many areas from resource collecting, combat and physique capabilities such as increased jump height and running speed. You're not limited by talent points per level so you can eventually max all talents by acquiring the appropriate number of books. The gun mechanics are very good unlike rust with its odd recoil patterns that allow for easy scripting. It has a unique system of blueprints for tools, structures, gear and weapons scaling from white to green to blue to purple to orange to red. You acquire these bps from looting, pois and restricted areas which allows you to create a specific item with enhanced stats: Increased dmg, resource collection, durability, etc. It offers something most games in the genre don't...Base defense. It's one of its strongest selling points as you can protect yourself from being offlined. The options are made available from early into late game. You're given access to traps and ballistae early, in the mid game you can unlock auto turrets, auto cannons and SAM turrets and into the late game you can unlock the phalanx defense system. These guns intercepts missiles, rockets, grenades and lock onto to both ground and air vehicles. You can build 3-4 tiers of tanks and 3 tiers of helicopters varying in stats and weapon capabilities. As you've seen from the trailer, the building system is quite intricate. *What is weak/bad about the game in its current state?* - No vaulting, the AI is buggy and janky but if they catch you from behind it'll only take a few melee hits to drop you if you're low level. Servers are slightly unstable with lag spikes and frame drops throughout the day. It takes grinding to new levels...You will not be at a loss for things to do b/c you will always be farming resources for crafting. Every item in this game does not lose its necessity, which is good and bad, but that means even at lvl 60 you'll still be farming wood and stone. Another good and bad thing is the insane number of resources you need for crafting as you progress. For example, you will need absurd amounts of steel for a plethora of things but in order to mass produce steel? You'll need hefty amounts of carbon powder, and you can only acquire that from burning wood constantly which means you'll need at least 3 bonfires and 6 furnaces going at all hours of the day. If you hate grinding and farming? You won't like this. Other than those things, it's a fairly decent game. If you're looking for a game within the genre that gives you the ability to defend from being offlined, has deep progression, crafting, building systems, innovative tech and a variety of weapons, gear, tools, aircraft and armored vehicles? You'll enjoy this. It needs a lot of work still but the devs are committed to it and it seems to be a passion project for them. At 15$? It's definitely worth.

I been saying since like a year after ark release.
