Good video and I think u covered most of the bases in this. The Ibex 26 is definitely a great bag, so that is an excellent choice. I know that how a bag is set up is mostly preference, but when I'm setting my bags up, I always make sure that all of my medical/trauma supplies are in the same place. I don't want to have to try to remember where I put the compression bandages and TQs in a stressful situation. I want to grab the first aid kit and know whatever i need will be in there. Heading to check out ur EDC bag video now.
Great video on what works FOR YOU! I'd love to see a follow-up video of you doing a field test. Maybe walk a couple miles (nothing crazy, just a couple) and camp overnight, using nothing but what is in this pack. It would be nice to see how you would utilize your gear. I have a very different Get Home Bag philosophy. I'm more grayman, smaller pack, thru-hiker lite-weight philosophy. I would want a small ground tent, stove, sleeping bag & pad, dedicated rain gear, etc. There is NO WAY that I could walk long distance quickly (and unobtrusively) with a 28 lb pack. Your youth and physical strength give you different advantages over my age and wisdom! LOL Keep up the good work and I hope to see a field test, sir!!
very nice video! I love vanquest and have been using them for years. I have the ftim 5x7 and use that as an edc bag and I have it setup to go into a go bag if i need. Two things i dont know if theyll be useful for you but you could maybe get a small solar panel for recharging your light and batteries. I noticed you have a baofeng, id recommend getting a yaesu vx7r or equivalent ham radio as it is ipx 7 rated which does come in handy. Second, I recommend trying a 55 gallon drum line bag and stuffing that with leaves and soft non-sharp material to sleep on top of at night. There are other uses for the bag too but that could be a nice buffering layer from loosing heat on the ground. Other than that perfect bag and id say we think alike. Good job!
Thanks! I actually picked up 2 solar charges post vid. Yes a plastic bag is a good idea, I keep a few in my vehicle but will throw one in my bag. I appreciate your thoughts!
Recently I finally got my coyote brown MCC from Center Line Systems and my Keith canteen, which is exactly the same thing as HC, fits in there rather loosely, while yours looks nice and snug. They don't have any dimensions on their site. I wonder if they changed them at some point. So after watching your review a while back when I was searching for a backpack to buy I also end up buying MCC and funny enough also Cammenga 3H compass, which I totally missed that first time I watched this video. :D And since we already have quite a few items that are the same let me also ask you what's your shemagh exact color and brand? :) I was looking for this kind of color for quite some time, but everything I'm coming across is way off and I really dig that color you have. Cheers, man!
@@knifeaddict1014 🤜🤛 thanks brother. Yea I plan to make a bunch of reviews in the future. Unfortunately life has gotten in the way of my channel. BUT I'll be back on the horse soon.
Thanks. I do have seperate pouches for what you describe. Its refrenced closer to the end of the video when I discuss taking my pouches from my EDC bag and attaching to my Get Home Bag.
Yes good point...I actually have them in my EDC bag. I will be doing a full video of my entire vehicle setup when I get a moment. That will showcase everything in my vehicle at any time.
And remember to take off all packaging before you pack your kits less trash and weight to carry . You do not need that much food more water then food . Have you tested this bag vs terrain vs shoes vs weight vs estimated distance from home ?
The weight is manageable. I've done about 15 miles in the boots I would wear. I work many miles from home....it would be a 3 day ordeal to get home. That's why I carry what I carry.

Good breakdown of an edc bag and the get home bag.
Thanks, appreciate it!!
Awesome set up you have here!

Vanquest are over priced copies of Maxpediton
You can take the Sam splint out of the plastic and roll it out and fold it in half to store it easier we do that on the units frees up a lot of space
I debated which way would be a better on space and kept it in the roll. I like your thought and will give that a try. 👊👊

Thanks!! Great minds think alike. I have to be honest and say I'm not sure of the manufacturer of the shemagh.
@@nononsenseedc8662 That's alright. Not a big deal. Honestly at some point I forget which ones I bought as well. :D
Just got one of these last night brand new for $115 hope it’s worth it! I really like the way it looks!
You're gonna love it!
@@nononsenseedc8662 sweet thanks man!!

What’s the canteen pouch?
Centerline Systems pouch. I absolutely love it!! It's always in my vehicle.
@@nononsenseedc8662 Cheers man! MCC I presume? I ordered one just a few days ago. :)
How much does the bag weigh? Are the straps bom p p roof? Bcz if you only get one shot at an inch bag then you WANT the straps to be bomp proo f.
Your pack is about 28lbs ish is that correct ?
Good Stuff!
You should have separate pouches for first aid gear, a fire kit with more ways to start a fire and then a survival gear pouch. Good video
Thanks. I do have seperate pouches for what you describe. Its refrenced closer to the end of the video when I discuss taking my pouches from my EDC bag and attaching to my Get Home Bag.
Solid all you need now is a pair of gloves even for warm weather keep them hands protected!!!!

Can't go wrong with a Vanquest pack! Great video! 👍
Thx brother!
What map holder is that? I like it has a seal on it
Its from Seal Line. It is great. Ive used it several times over the years when on kayaking on long trips. Never had a failure.
Heavy cover canteen cost more then your pack lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣 it's true. I couldn't help it.
I might get one will see
You should always leave the house over dressed in layers
Pro tip never fully pack your bags . Prevents blow outs and able to pick up items .
This is more then a get home bag . Way to much gear and you forgot about your AAA card is the number one item to carry
This is a get home bag. I work long distance and it would take a few days to get home. I need to do another vid of all the stuff I keep in my vehicle.
@@nononsenseedc8662 yeah those videos are good i have done a few
