Thank you for the information, I was wondering about the whole process. My elderly parents have a home in New York City heated by oil ,and I was wondering about converting to gas . but thought it would be way to expensive and major. First I will check with gas company on programs available in New York. Thank you sharing is caring.
Ah thank you, you’re most welcome. Also look at home energy efficiency programs. I got $10k of free insulation done also this year. www.nyserda.ny.gov/All-Programs/Home-Energy-Efficiency-Upgrades I also put a heat pump on one side of my house, but it’s not useful when the temperature is below 40.
Here’s the natural gas page: www.nationalgridus.com/Default.aspx?r.u=%2fConvert-to-Natural-Gas%2fExpand-Current-Natural-Gas-Service-to-Include-Heating%3f
I wouldn’t necessarily use that to guide your decision. I’d suggest measuring against the alternatives. Stay with oil, switch to gas, switch to electric (heat pump), go with whichever comes out better.

Hi, my property is also in CT. I’m curious about what program/ benefits you used ? Im thinking about converting
Go to energizeCT.com the programs change form year to year, but all good vendors will include the rebate available in their quotes for you.
