Hey Fil, I feel your pain! But it's the journey we are all on, thanks to you! You gave us a good lesson to avoid Ali Express anyways... Love the 80's montage at the car wash! Sean is COOL!!! So glad to hear that no animals were harmed in this one! Oh yeah, the GPS works better when turned on! 🤣🤣Wish I has ABS too! Anyway, despite all the problems and lack of speed, it all made for a very entertaining video, thoroughly enjoyed it, dude - ROCK ON! 😎👌👍
I figured after four failed attempts, I had enough footage to at least try and make some people aware of crappy parts, and try and get a few good laughs in. Glad you enjoyed it, Mark. Cheers buddy! 🍻
Haha the speed run game gets you. You want to get that number and you forget to set the gps or even turn it on. 😤😤That is what this is all about is having fun
Finding the right road for when you need more room to go faster is half the battle! I've spent so much time just staring at Google maps and driving to places to see how they are... glad to see you pushing! It's an addictive experience. I can see you getting into the 40/50 range and then having to address aero issues. (I only mention it to remind you to keep it in mind and be ready. Not scare or deter) Good luck on your next runs!
A slight cheat used by they local speed run guys near me is to use a hill that runs onto a flat. They use the hill to run up to top speed then clock the car on the flat.
Hey Fil I’m sure you’re going to make your speed goals you’re definitely on the right track. With the slop in the front spindles I had the same issue and used 1mm shims to take the slop out.
The frustration is real buddy! Your not alone! Speed run life break fix repeat! Never any cars on the road…. Until you want to do a speed run🤣😂 Keep pushing buddy 40 is coming man! And that’s one sweet hot Rod your cruz’in in👊👍👍
This gear issue is annoying. But thanks for the warning. I like your car. At least we saw 32. Best wishes for your next runs. These 80s edges and corners give the cars an alone standing character👍
Oh my goodness you are having a lot of trials and tribulations Fil! I don't know what was going on with those gears but they were obviously no good. What a shame. Enjoyed seeing Sean Cammery and your cat getting involved. It was a great vid even if the result was disappointing. Good luck with your next attempt 😁👍👍
While it wouldn’t be my choice of a vintage car, it’s cool to see one that’s not rotted into oblivion. Being in Iowa/Illinois tge winter’s and the salt is hard on cars. Especially late 70’s through early 90’s cars. I had a car break in half on a lift years ago when I worked for Sears.
Yeah the "econo-box" cars of the 80's and 90's aren't exactly desirable. But that's why I love them so much. They really turn heads when people see them today, in good shape. 👍🏻
G'day Fil, Thanks for showing a bit of your countryside & cruising around in Sean Camry😂👌, we name just about everything here, we have a wild pet possum called Mick😁. I still remember that Toyota add, awesome video mate👍. We thought your cat was going to pounce on your car as it flew past, smart cat resisted the temptation lol. Congratulations on hitting 32mph & getting it to drive straight too, you might not have the fastest in the challenge yet but I'm pretty sure it's the best speed run challenge we've seen so you get a trophy mate🏆👍. Thanks for the tip on setting up ABS. Sorry for such a late comment on your video & thanks for sharing your video Fil👍🦘🇦🇺
Thanks, brother! I'm so happy that you guys are enjoying this speed run challenge. It's been so much fun, and as you may have noticed, I'm not a "go fast" guy, so I'm learning a lot along the way. 👊🏼 Sean Cammery is my man, haha. He gets a lot of attention wherever he goes, like a local celebrity. I try not to show off, but when you look as good as he does, it's kinda tough. 🤣🤣🤣🍻
Dude even with all those set back you are still smiling brother! Amazing work 🙌🏻 I also loved that you upped the ante from squirrels to cats! Side competition- who can speed run with the largest animal in shot? 🤙🏻
Motor mount is clutch You'll get it right...Don't let it get ya Love the Toyota they will run forever... Blame the meds haha sounds much better now. Feel your pain getting over that 40 is a pain.. Thanks for sharing Phil I don't feel alone now hahah.. Getter back out there bud.. Longer run.. with gearing you need time to get into speed without spinning out.. Slow is fast..
I don't trust the Ali Express stuff... it's cheap for a reason... too bad you had this much Trouble. But the potential is there. I think we gonna see some serious speed from you once everything falls into place 👍😁
It’s all in good fun! Keep enjoying yourself and don’t worry about the outcome. 😎 love watching all the entries. I would enter myself but only if there is a prize for dead last. 😂
That's one clean Camry! That thing looks amazing. You tend to appreciate them a lot more when you rarely see them. The Land Rover is Awesome as well. Looks like you have the same issue I do (run locations).
Thanks pal. Yeah I love ol' Sean Cammery. Cars can last forever out here, if maintained. Hence why most of my cars are super old, 80's and 90's cars. Haha. 🤣
Thanks, brother! I never claimed to be a fast RC guy, I'm definitely out of my element here. But having a blast, and chillin' with my RC brothers and sisters on UA-cam, having a ton of fun. Cheers!
Welcome to my channel, Dan Jr. Glad you enjoyed the video. We're right in the middle of a TT-02 speed run challenge, with over 50 contestants world wide at the moment! Woo hooo! 👊🏼🍻

Exact same issues I had with my GPS on my last run.. 😂 Plastic works best with most parts.. Not gunna lie, your runs sucked.. problem after problem.. but we both know you were only learning how these cars work.. Great job man, 50 is right around the corner. Keep it up 👍
Haha your luck is like mine. I ordered a new gps and some other parts. Debating on ordering a new radio. Also a heads up, I havent had much luck with the tamiya brushless motors. I had a 16t that only last a few runs.
Just found your channel, great video. As soon as I hear you said Al parts from Aliexpress, my eyes rolled. Remove them all, my friend. Most of them of tolerance issues. I am building my EVO V, you had me scared when so many Tamiya go so slow, guess I will find out
Thanks for coming on board! I had to learn the Ali Express lesson the hard way, haha. I will say though, the foam tires I bought aren't too bad. If it's slow, there's always a way to make it fast. Keep me posted on how it goes! 👊🏼
Oh, man, that was painful to watch... I think you took all the bad luck there is for this challenge, those gears must have been made from monkey metal by a monkey with an angle grinder... Cool you still published the video, and extra cool you took the time to show us that cool Sean Cammery car, and I liked that you pressure washed the sunroof, that's also bravery on an old car like that... I'm still without any progress on my speedrun effort, I hope to start work on some improvements soon, let's see...
Life lesson: Never, ever ebay on Ambien. When I first started taking it, I would wake up the next day with emails saying how I won all of these ebay auctions. So, I feel you on buying stuff on the internet while medicated!

I just open the package and slap them on. I'm not very fast though. I'd imagine north of 70 mph I'd want them true. And thanks for loving Sean Cammery, haha. He's my man! -- Good luck with the high speed nitro build! 👊🏼💨💨💨

The car seems to run much more stable with the foam tires. You could set the motor timing up to get more speed out of the 13.5 motor.

If you use a peace of receipt paper between the spure and pinion that should help set mesh.
