This is an excellent song full of amazing riffs. And to think Jeff Hanneman wrote every single riff in this entire song. Kerry's playing them here but Jeff wrote them all. (as well as writing Seasons in the Abyss and War Ensemble, my other two favourites from this album). A legendary guitarist and definitely the best guitarist in Slayer - RIP Jeff.
That man is so easy taking and fluent, and that's cool he shares his technique and actually the tab itself. Not keeping it under 7 lock like most of the other artists do.
+Ian davis one of the fastest fucking and precisest guitar players. Most of these videos he's not even in touring shape. Live I can't even think about how incredible these guys are.
@Chester1004 The most are. There are some in standard like Black Magic at leasts on the studio version, but they play it halfstepdown live as far as I know.
He might say that, but if you watch his right hand you can see him alternate pick alot, it might just be that he wants to play some parts in all down picking cuz you get a different attack to the string doing that as opposed to up and down
You don't need a footrest for the v guitar, I have been playing on a v since 1993, all you need to do is place the bottom part of the guitar v in between your legs and it will hold in place.
You could probably get the Slayer sound from an Ibanez Rg without messing with pickups and effects id say its the amp you use and the amp settings that would effect the sound more
show no mercy album is in standard, but i think its the only one.. then all up to season are in half down and divine intervention is the first where they have some different drop tunings... and god hates us all is one whole and a half down.
yeah dude i agree )) i just don't know what will become of Jeff since he went through some horrible surgeries, ive seen a picture of his forearm&arm and it was like truly like Frankenstein's!! ive seen his new signature from ESP, it's called EC, it's a LES PAUL like model with 24.75 scale which is shorter than his regular 25.5 scale, i guess he has chosen this scale for an easier playability and to accommodate his style to the condition of hand&arm.again it's just a guess! peace from Morocco!!
I 'met' him at music live in birmingham last year, and i can assure you this isn't just a friendly act, he is generally a very down to earth guy He just looks mental with all his tatts, and his beard =P
yah only on that part though thats how hes able to slide while tapping the weird sound at the end of the tap, try it its easier than it looks if using your pick
Jimi Hendrix, widely known as the greatest all time guitarist wasn't exactly technical, but he could own every one of those "technical" guys anyday. Being technical doesn't automatically mean you'll be an amazing guitarist.
Kerry teched Hanneman how to play guitar, becaues as they started the band Hanneman couldnt play guitar, but, he learned pretty fast and i think, he is better now. And one of the reasons why they always invite King to lessons i think because of his look, he looks realy recognizable and of course he is awesome at guitar.
how can you down pcik the pre riff build up?! its impossible! :) man you must have to spazm your picking hand in order to do that! its hard enough without the down picking! mental! classic Slayer tune. great post. cheers!
To me it sounds like it's in standard tuning. Try standard and if it doesn't match try maybe half step down. It doesn't sound any lower tuned than that. Please get back and let me know what you find. Thanks alot.
fantastic! simplicity and respect for the millions of fans the world. himself, teaching how to play one of their biggest hits. This guy is cool!
+Alberto Goncales super cool no bs type guy.

Down picking? Someone go wake up James.
Big respect
RIP legend..
Jeff Waters
@@nlpodessaYep, he uses Metallica down picking as a warm up and plays Creeping Death cleaner than Metallica does.
First lesson I've watched by him. The dude is solid.
deadskin mask is my favorite slayer song
Mine too!
Mine too
Once of the best metal riffs of all time. KFK!
This is one of the better kerry king solos, really great song!
What a master!
Kerry King & Glenn Tipton fuckin' rule... the gods of guitar.
That man is so easy taking and fluent, and that's cool he shares his technique and actually the tab itself. Not keeping it under 7 lock like most of the other artists do.
I fucking love the 2nd riff, one of the best by lord kerry
Is it just me or is he playing super freaking fast??
+Ian davis one of the fastest fucking and precisest guitar players. Most of these videos he's not even in touring shape. Live I can't even think about how incredible these guys are.
Listen to War Ensemble if you think this is fast LOL
R.I.P Jeff :(
he's such an underrated player. that right hand is dangerous
In my opinion, being one of the greatest metal guitarists for almost 30 years makes you cool enough to wear sun glasses inside or at night.
this is probally the best youtube vid ive seen in my life.
KERRY!!!! YOU ARE A METAL GOD!!!! I LOVE YA!!!! HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!
Now was awesome Slayer is one of my favorites and dead skin mask is my most favorite song btw which
bc rich is that
Slayer seems to be the only band who plays their songs like the tab shows it.
Hi, i'm Kerry King and now i'm gonna let you watch me playing DeadSkinMask
agreed ive never thought kerry king as much of a soloist
what a sound bloke. As down to earth as they come.
Can anybody say me how much the guitar is? I LOVE THIS AXE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! is it eve buyable?
240p we meet again!
Thanks Kerry!
PURE EARGASMS WHEN KING PLAYS....
He's just your neighbor who plays in a band that just so happens to be one of best in the world
hell yeah, no one can drum like dave
I really like this song... my fav album from slayer SEASON IN THE ABYSS!
i wouldn't care if he totally fucked up this whole video .slayer still owns.
"...How fucking metal is that?"
He's hilarious!!! And he kicks ass!!!
@Chester1004

kerry king is my facking favourite guitarist!!!!
he seems like a cool guy to talk having some beers...
Kerry king has the wickedest riffs. Slayer kicks fuckin ass.
hail SLAYER ....brings tears to my eyes just love it
Thanks Kerry. Cleared up some stuff for me..
You'd get close, but not all the way there. It depends primarily on your amp - you'll want one with fat midrange to accomplish the Slayer tone.
i heard that he's one hell of a guy
Great great great!
thx for uploading"!
5/5
I'd like to see video of that concert if anyone knows if there is an upload anywhere.
yeah, i think hes gonna do well.
Greetings from germany!
I am learning so much from you kerry king I am getting better by the day
Yeah, plus Jeff writes all of the music and helps write most of the lyrics
hanneman is the brains of that operation
Thanks Kerry, legend.
@XxiMattxX its a marshall microstack, the haze is pretty recent
Kerry is such a cool dude.
seasons in the abyss
cute little marshall stack in the back!
actually they've got a pretty good reputation of being very skilled guitarists.
damn im gonna take forever to learn how to play this song man
i love this fucking sound of the guitar
Dead Skin Mask is a song of Slayer, Hanneman had a Dead Skin Arm

Dave Lombardo!!!
i preffere duncans but hey emg's do have a nice tone....would love to hear it with the duncan blackouts
Kerry For President
tremendo tema!! el primero que aprendi de slayer con la guitarra...
yeah dude i agree )) i just don't know what will become of Jeff since he went through some horrible surgeries, ive seen a picture of his forearm&arm and it was like truly like Frankenstein's!! ive seen his new signature from ESP, it's called EC, it's a LES PAUL like model with 24.75 scale which is shorter than his regular 25.5 scale, i guess he has chosen this scale for an easier playability and to accommodate his style to the condition of hand&arm.again it's just a guess! peace from Morocco!!
That beard is very good at playing the guitar.
This is the most evil song I've ever heard.
I 'met' him at music live in birmingham last year, and i can assure you this isn't just a friendly act, he is generally a very down to earth guy
He just looks mental with all his tatts, and his beard =P
@HereisNathaniel its been re-recorded?? xD
Thats acctually pretty cool xD
that guitar is so fuckin' metal/brutal/awesome/ultimate
He definately soudns like he want to be there.
is it just the marshall he's gettin this typical slayer sound from?
yah only on that part though thats how hes able to slide while tapping the weird sound at the end of the tap, try it its easier than it looks if using your pick
Jimi Hendrix, widely known as the greatest all time guitarist wasn't exactly technical, but he could own every one of those "technical" guys anyday. Being technical doesn't automatically mean you'll be an amazing guitarist.
how does he make his guitar sound so awesome!?????
well thats cause he likes playing on that scale plus i mean whos complaining its fucking great music
MAN I LOVE THAT V OF KERRYS! i want that 1... :(
Kerry teched Hanneman how to play guitar, becaues as they started the band Hanneman couldnt play guitar, but, he learned pretty fast and i think, he is better now.
And one of the reasons why they always invite King to lessons i think because of his look, he looks realy recognizable and of course he is awesome at guitar.
That isn't even true
Emperor Alvis mostly true. Jeff hadn’t played for much and learned a lot from Kerry
Kerry king= ultimate badass
he makes it look so easy
evil whatever if its evil if it sounds good its good to me ...
kerrys a legend
the haze wasn't even out back then. second, it doesn't sound anything like it, so i'd say it's a marshall mini stack.
I hear the devil from this lil' marshall...
@Rafcyk
I think its begging him to use a JCM or JVM.
the little flavor from the riff prior"
almot all older songs are. God hates us all is in C standard i think
"OK I GOT IT THE FIRST TIME!!!!"
he seems like a really kind person but he looks like he would rip your head off lol
Kerry King = EPIC winning
Kerry is such a nice and cool guy, but he looks like a fuckin beast :D
love that guitar
Always thought he was a great guitarist, now it seems like he's a cool guy too, Slayer fuckin rock ;)
badass riffs!!!
One of Kerry's many custom BC Rich V's.
and what would be that sick part in this battle?
Yeah the way he storms off stage sometimes, at least he comes back to finish the shows up though(Mustaine).
how can you down pcik the pre riff build up?! its impossible! :) man you must have to spazm your picking hand in order to do that! its hard enough without the down picking! mental! classic Slayer tune. great post. cheers!
It's a shame King has never played with Priest.
lol at the starting "the police did something like this"
no, you can clearly see him alternate pick
To me it sounds like it's in standard tuning. Try standard and if it doesn't match try maybe half step down. It doesn't sound any lower tuned than that. Please get back and let me know what you find. Thanks alot.
