I will never forget this song as the capper to the 'endless setlist' mode from RB1 - I was in my junior year of university and we stayed up all night running the (IIRC) 48 songs in a row. When the sun came up, we were ranked #3 on the Playstation server, despite having a singer playing on 'hard' - and even years later it's one of my greatest gaming accomplishments - playing guitar for the #3 ranked rock band in the world at the time. I'd give anything to go back to those simpler times.

Took me forever to finally get through this part, 7:52, but once I did it was smooth sailing and it felt so good to finally become "Lord of the Strings".
This was so difficult. I remember being so proud at getting 100% when I was 14, hours and days of trying to get it right. I never played the song at that difficulty again.
Man, I will never forget finally getting through this on expert only AFTER playing the endless set list and having to play and sing, as my friend who was helping me had left a long while ago.
@@Superunknown190 Yeah... It was actually much easier. I'm guessing, because we played it so much the night before, and I was somewhat refreshed. I got up that morning having forgotten that I left the game on (couldn't save), so I had to finish it before I could do anything else. I didn't have a mic stand, so I taped the mic to one of my unused cymbal stands with electrical tape. About 4 tries in, I finally nailed it and got through. One of the best and hardest earned achievements I have ever gotten aside from the feathers in AC2.
Seeing this almost just brings me to tears. Me and my wife used to play this song when we were high over and over and over. We really miss playing this. This taught us so much about music in general. I never could get past the last solo on expert. Kudos.

If any of you are failing at the 2nd guitar solo of this song, save your overdrive if you’re about to fail on the zigzag patterns, and on the pull-off triplets at the end of the 2nd solo, save your overdrive for that as well. On both sections, keep strumming and guess like hell all the way through on timing on the frets. That’s all you need to pass the song on Expert Guitar. 😉
@@123jodo321 You can get way more overdrive easily after the first zigzag pattern using overdrive there if you save one extra phrase to hold on to for it. Then the rest of the phrases will give you a chance to get past the really fast pull-off triplets at the end of the solo.
Random thing : What if this song was in World Tour? I'm willing to bet that the intro would have a ton of extended sustains, and the outro would be full of tap notes.

@thaperfect4924 If you're familiar with Harmonix's earlier games (Guitar Hero 1 and 2 in particular) you'll notice alot of the same musicians doing songs in both of those games as well. Though , unlike Rock Band (and the rest of the Rock Band series for that matter) All of the songs on the main set lists for GH1 and GH2 (with the exceptions of "Stop" by Jane's Addiction, "Dead!" by My Chemical Romance, and "John the Fisherman" by Primus from GH2) are cover tracks. Rock Band 1 has a mix of master tracks as well as cover tracks. Some of the covers really are pretty great, but some others... oh boy 😆 Probably the best example of a shockingly bad cover from those games is the cover of the Lamb of God song "Laid to Rest" from Guitar Hero 2 🤣

Once I fc'd it on rb3 but didn't feel like I did much since it wasn't rb1. If it counts in your eyes then that's all of rb1 fc'd. Also had to fc lazy eyes in rb3 as well though since the strum limit sucks.
They need to bring back these games. Rockband and Guitar Hero. Though unfortunately we will never see another. Digital media and microtransactions make far too muuch money alone. The cost of making physical gaming peripherals now cut too deep into the pockets of devs and pubs when they could just make a game that relies solely on digital downloads. GH3 and rockband were truly the best days of my gaming life so far. And sadly i dont think ill ever get to relive those experiences. Xhox 360's are available in devent condition, but finding a decent working guitar is near impossible. And forget ever trying to find a ps3 gh3 guitar. Youll dish out hundreds for a single one thst works with compatible dongle.

The only expert song I have yet to beat. there was one time I got like 60 something percent in but lost. turns out I wasn't breathing for a few minutes there and when I realized (just after my failure) all my muscles locked up. My toes curled in. My fists clenched. I was stuck in the fetal position for a solid minute but it felt oh so much longer than that. the scariest thing that's probably ever happened to me. It's been maybe a year since then and i have yet to retry.
I was at 85% on expert when I failed. Such a hard song to play lol, I'm at the beginning of the solo and I hit 10 notes and I'm at zero percent and I'm like oh shoot.
For me even on medium it's either I can perfect the first solo and miss the last part of the final solo or miss the last part of the first solo and perfect (somehow) the final solo never both
The problem with the strumming is that it is too fast for the game to register. Pre-Rock Band 3 and Pre-Guitar Hero 3 songs have a hard-coded strum limit in the game where it will only register up to about 16 strums per second. The strumming in this song is simply just faster than that threshold, so in order to hit it, you would need to exploit the timing window extremely precisely. I could go further in depth, but that's the gist of it, it's not a matter of the person not being able to hit the notes, but the game not allowing it.

Then maintain it until the end of the section finishing it super late just making it without missing. Would be highly unlikely since we aren't robots and it's hard enough to maintain a certain nps exact. It was awesome seeing aby hit it on emulator though. If it truly is possible on console I would love to see someone get it. They would deserve 1000 bucks atleast for doing it and documenting it.

NasWii Different consoles have different gold start cut-offs on some songs. On PS2 it’s about 372,000 but on 360 it’s about 394,000
