Here's the long-awaited final song in RB3. I ended up not really caring too much about going for many tough squeezes. I just followed the path I was given by Kyle Ruth and tried for moderately difficult squeezes, but nothing too crazy. This is actually my 2nd FC of this song with a path, and I only improved my score by like 200 or 300. I'm not gonna play a 10 minute song again just for a few hundred more points. I fully expected this video to be blocked worldwide when I was going for it, so I recorded external audio while I got this score. Here is a link to an external audio video that will serve as a back-up in case this video ends up getting copyrighted.

I enjoyed my time playing through RB3 again. I didn't have much experience with the main set list of this game before now. I think because RB3 doesn't have a traditional career mode like RB1 and 2, I didn't spend a lot of time replaying the disc songs like I did in those previous games. A lot of the songs in this game just didn't make a connection with me. Despite that, I think that Rock Band 3 is the quintessential Rock Band experience. If you've never played a Rock Band game before, Rock Band 3 is the way to go. Good setlist, keys, pro mode, challenge system, no strum limit, can import setlists from every RB game prior (except the Beatles), extensive DLC catalog, and the ability to play custom songs (with the right disc). RB3 is the most feature-rich Rock Band game there is. Rock Band 4 can't even come close to the legacy that RB3 has left. I would honestly rate RB3 as a 9.5/10.
To top it all off, I was even able to get 1st place overall on Scorehero!
This won't be the last time you see Rock Band 3 on this channel. At some point this year I'll be playing through the Rock Band Blitz setlist on RB3. I'll also be playing through the AC/DC live track pack, and playing the harder songs on RB3 (like Let There Be Rock (live) which would be impossible on the native engine).

Much like you with Rock Lobster, this sing is a giant meme for me, seeing as I used to play this song all the time and bug the DAYLIGHTS out of my mother. It’s such an insanely long song and the solo never ends and I love it for just how bloated and deep fried southern it is. And my dad left his job once by playing this ten times on a pizza hut jukebox, so it holds some connection there too haha

me and my friend tried to play tackle this song, my hand started cramping 3 quarters into the solo, i was doing the guitar solo and my friend was playing the bass.
RB3 had many good songs, but many were more on pop than metal. RB2 still holds the goat of best RB setlist

Just like with Neversoft and Guitar Hero, seeing as how this was the last RB game for a while, Harmonix went out with a freaking BANG with this one.
There has not been a song that was as hard to do as this one.

This is such a great song, a timeless masterpiece. The only version i managed to pass of this song is the GH:SH one, i have yet to try the GH2 (im scared tho, haha)

The change that made Free Bird viewable worldwide happened very recently (like a couple months ago recently). My guess is it was to make the copyright situation more consistent with the rest of their discography.
Another song that got the same treatment is Waidmann's Heil from Warriors of Rock. You're now able to upload that song without any trouble as well (I would do it sooner than later, idk if it's gonna last).
Last thing; the SH chart is better. Extended sustains & tap notes ftw.

Hey a quick question , if you have this same run on RB4 it would not have been a FC , right? Unless i'm crazy , i could hear a little sound between the BRE where you play anything , and the real notes that end that song , like if you have overstrum , and if i remember well , when this happens you dont get the Gold wings on RB4. does what I'm talking about make any sense? because I have to admit I got a little paranoid about it after watching this run 😂😂

I mean, they were both made by the same developer. Honestly, Guitar Hero 2 undercharted the song a little, and there are some differences between the original Freebird and the cover version from GH2.
And then they made the mix completely different from the other GH versions due to re-adding Billy Powell’s piano
