The library is pretty bad, Nintendo Online sucks, Joy Cons suck, and app support+library sucks. There's only been a small handful of games worth playing, and then the console has no use. It's a shame they didn't do more to get streaming services or something to keep us glued to it. Even the PS Vita has more usefulness, and it came out way before the Switch. Bluetooth, remote play, easy to turn into an emulator, connect to the internet without wifi, themes, organize folders, tons of mods. I wish Sony focused a little more on the Vita. It's a beast emulator that fits in your pocket though. Yes, you can hack the Switch, but it's an annoying process every time you turn the thing on.
The online, and the lack of a proper virtual console are my two biggest issues with the switch, I am considering ending my nintendo switch online subscription due to lack of interest in online titles now, especially with how horrible the online infrastructure is (I'm looking at you smash bros). Guess I'll have to stick to emulation if I want my fill of retro titles.
I think the joycons need more fixing, and the game line up is great. But the joycons problem is baffling, at this point I don’t know why Nintendo didn’t fix them, I get why a Virus and put the world on halt, but come on they still have enough time to fix the joycons. In the end the switch has great to excellent games, I just hope that Nintendo fix the joycons.

I don't have the Switch. I still have no idea if this is for the big or small screen. That's why I am confused. After the failure of Nintendo Wii U, and the third-party game in general, they decides to remake it and don't make an handled console alone to give it another chance. Now that third-party games are dominating the market and the direction Nintendo is taking with their license (DLC, daily update, half-baked game, casual audience), I wonder what the Switch is for? It's a cash-grab than a console you would spend on and have fun, solo or multiplayer.
Actually it's a really good console to play on in general because of its hybrid-model. Like it's common rule now to own a switch and PC when it comes to gaming as it brings the best of both worlds. I just wished it had better performance.

It was so seamless on the Wii, idk why the switch doesn't have many exciting motion control games. I bought Just Dance 2022 hoping my mother would have a fun way to workout, it just wasn't fun. I might try ARMS but if you have any suggestions for switch games that we can give to bored Orangutan brains, I'm all ears. Nintendo switch sucks big time. The company has had many many years to make a quality console and they’ve failed horribly. I play some competitive games and it requires the controller to be enough sensitive to do moves when executed. It fails in miserably. I hate it and I hope the steam deck by steam takes over.

I just got one and kinda got buyer's remorse. OLED version too. And just don't see anything exciting for it. I have over 1000 games for PC so in terms of indie games, it's useless. As for the unique games, I'm not a pokemon type guy tbh. Also, them standard joysticks joycons feel terrible. I would get the steam deck unless you really enjoy Nintendo games. And the games are insane price. And it's not just about carts. The games lose no value from MSRP sometimes going up. It's a negative if you want to enjoy the console. Especially 3rd party games. Games just aren't worth paying the extra and it's not going to be as customizable as the PC version. And when compared to the ps4 usually xbox and sony have it better looking.
The Switch has had a good run, but besides it being a convenient option to playing handheld games - it’s not a console replacement like the Steam Deck or future proof in any way.
@Tee Hee 3x the size is a stretch, and i'm sure you own a hori split pad pro, it's the exact same size with those attachments. The battery can be adjusted on Steam deck with...wait for it....options. The Switch gives you zero options in terms of graphic fidelity, people usually get greedy with the Steam deck and put it at max settings at 60 fps, but you can lower it to low settings with 30 which will still look better than most switch games with almost identical battery life. It's not just about being more powerful, it's about the crazy amount of options and the fact the system actually treats you like an adult. try playing Sifu offline on Switch and see how desperately unplayable that is. Every 30 minutes you get a forced notification about the internet, on a portable system. While on Steam Deck, looks better plays better and doesn't force any of those Switch like features on you. Also you don't need to pay for online service on the Deck. lmk if I missed anything.
I've never played a console less than the Nintendo Switch. I had high hopes for it but there's an absolute ton of garbage content cluttering the store with terrible UI, and just not many games tbh. Like, tons of overpriced inferior ports that would be better played elsewhere and not nearly enough original ones. And the ports people did want, like Wind Waker or Tales of Symphonia took forever to release or announce. I loved BOTW and play some occasional Smash or Karts but the that's pretty much it

Handheld is nice, and there are exclusives I want on the switch. On the contrary, why would you ever want a Playstation or Xbox when the PC exists? Like, Playstation has exclusives sure. But almost all of them are entirely forgettable if it wasn't for the fact that Sony fans hype up every single exclusive like it's the second coming of christ. The only games that tempt me are bloodborne and the demons souls remake. I actually at one point caved to the hype and played The Last of Us on the ps3 to see what the hype was about. What Nintendo does excellent: make profit on new consoles. They sell a shitload and most people just want a Mario Kart device and pony up 300 quid for just that. They don't care about the moment after the initial buy. Sony and MS on the other hand have a history of selling consoles with a loss, so the infrastructure of the game line-up and networking are crucial. They want people with money to spend hours on their devices. A Switch is there to prevent kids from learning to appreciate 2 hours gazing into the Alps when driving to Italy. It is a cheap nanny. But you know what a switch is in roleplay. It can turn into a dominatrix any time.... Infect those kid brains with evil Bowser and Pikachu for life.
I did not want to get the switch because it was too expensive and I really saw many negative reviews and decided not worth the beg, but it looks like it has some fun games but most of them were brought back from old consoles so I am mid on this decision
I love the switch, however I feel like the system sellers have been on the lackluster side. The two blockbuster hits odyssey and breath of the wild came out in year one. Most of the “heavy hitters” for switch so far have just been Wii U ports. There have been a few great games for switch that are original but nothing jaw dropping. Hopefully tears of the kingdom will be good next year
Your joking right, Microsoft has been far more friendly to indie devs. Nintendo need to make a real console. Have a handheld but this whole hybrid console thing is hold Nintendo back. They always have these stupid gimmicks. Why can't Nintendo just make a handheld and a more powerful console like they used too. They need to make a console that can compete with modern hardware. There always like a decade behind in technology since the Wii. That was when Nintendo lost me. All the Wii was a GameCube with motion controls. The Nintendo switch is a step up from a Xbox 360 or PS3 in terms of power. Zelda tears of kingdoms graphics look horrible. It's so sad. They expect people to pay 70 dollars for a game that looks like Zelda wind waker which came out over a decade ago. Twilight princess looked better than breath of wild and tears of the kingdom.
I feel very disappointed by my switch I bought mine during lockdown in 2020 I think I've played on it less than 40 times, I haven't been on it this year and I think the last time I went on it might've been last summer. I feel like there's barely any games for it that I want to play that I can't play on my playstation. I haven't played breath of the wild yet and idk if it's worth keeping my switch for when I could just sell it and use the money to get a PS5. I've also only played Pokémon crystal and I'm not enough of a fan to go and buy their janky looking project arceus game.

Had online for the trial and found it useless. Shit service. Shit hardware. Should have bought an xbox with the money I've spent on it. 550$ australian. And 80 - 90 bucks a game. I considered getting a switch, but still have a super slim ps3 still going strong and the graphics on some of the games are still outmatched by the former. I will keep an eye out for the switch 2 in the future.
Don’t get a switch. Get a ps4 instead. Trust me. The switch barely gets any good games, plus when games come out. The graphics are really low. Besides for Nintendo games. Other consoles will give you a better experience.

All the multiplayer games my brother has are not enjoyable. They are really frustrating. I'm talking about Bower's Fury, Mario 3D World and Yoshi's Wooly World. Unplayable, don't know why they have a multiplayer mode

What Nintendo does excellent: make profit on new consoles. They sell a shitload and most people just want a Mario Kart device and pony up 300 quid for just that. They don't care about the moment after the initial buy. Sony and MS on the other hand have a history of selling consoles with a loss, so the infrastructure of the game line-up and networking are crucial. They want people with money to spend hours on their devices. A Switch is there to prevent kids from learning to appreciate 2 hours gazing into the Alps when driving to Italy. It is a cheap nanny. But you know what a switch is in roleplay. It can turn into a dominatrix any time.... Infect those kid brains with evil Bowser and Pikachu for life.
I did not want to get the switch because it was too expensive and I really saw many negative reviews and decided not worth the beg, but it looks like it has some fun games but most of them were brought back from old consoles so I am mid on this decision
The games are so repetitive and bubble gumish.
I love the switch, however I feel like the system sellers have been on the lackluster side. The two blockbuster hits odyssey and breath of the wild came out in year one. Most of the “heavy hitters” for switch so far have just been Wii U ports. There have been a few great games for switch that are original but nothing jaw dropping. Hopefully tears of the kingdom will be good next year

Your joking right, Microsoft has been far more friendly to indie devs. Nintendo need to make a real console. Have a handheld but this whole hybrid console thing is hold Nintendo back. They always have these stupid gimmicks. Why can't Nintendo just make a handheld and a more powerful console like they used too. They need to make a console that can compete with modern hardware. There always like a decade behind in technology since the Wii. That was when Nintendo lost me. All the Wii was a GameCube with motion controls. The Nintendo switch is a step up from a Xbox 360 or PS3 in terms of power. Zelda tears of kingdoms graphics look horrible. It's so sad. They expect people to pay 70 dollars for a game that looks like Zelda wind waker which came out over a decade ago. Twilight princess looked better than breath of wild and tears of the kingdom.
I feel very disappointed by my switch I bought mine during lockdown in 2020 I think I've played on it less than 40 times, I haven't been on it this year and I think the last time I went on it might've been last summer. I feel like there's barely any games for it that I want to play that I can't play on my playstation. I haven't played breath of the wild yet and idk if it's worth keeping my switch for when I could just sell it and use the money to get a PS5. I've also only played Pokémon crystal and I'm not enough of a fan to go and buy their janky looking project arceus game.
Definitely play breath of the wild and Mario odyssey.

I noticed after 2021, it sucks.
Had online for the trial and found it useless. Shit service. Shit hardware. Should have bought an xbox with the money I've spent on it. 550$ australian. And 80 - 90 bucks a game. I spend 800 bucks on it the day I got it. It's only saving grace is botw and arceus. After I've played those through I probably won't pick it up again. Already trying to get an xbox. Nintendo used to be my fave. But they are just greedy and lame Af. LOL oled 64 gb holds the witcher and not enough storage for apex. It's just shit.

I considered getting a switch, but still have a super slim ps3 still going strong and the graphics on some of the games are still outmatched by the former. I will keep an eye out for the switch 2 in the future.

Don’t get a switch. Get a ps4 instead. Trust me. The switch barely gets any good games, plus when games come out. The graphics are really low. Besides for Nintendo games. Other consoles will give you a better experience.

All the multiplayer games my brother has are not enjoyable. They are really frustrating. I'm talking about Bower's Fury, Mario 3D World and Yoshi's Wooly World. Unplayable, don't know why they have a multiplayer mode
