I just got one recently with the OLED and couldn't be happier. I'm late to the Switch game but it is totally worth it. I'm playing Zelda Breath of the Wild right now. The last game I played was Battlefield 3 some years back but this is great.
Same fr i just got mine a month ago and everything still feels so new and everytime i play it feels like the first time playing.. it’s such an amazing console and i’m so happy i finally got one
As someone who grew up mostly playing games on Nintendo handheld consoles, I’ve almost exclusively used my Switch in handheld mode. I love being able to take it anywhere with me and play BotW and Fortnite wherever. I typically dock it just for playing multiplayer games with friends and family.
You are literally the ONLY UA-camr whose sponsor sections in videos I watch. You put so much time and humor into them that I gladly watch the ads. Great video, as always! (:
The only thing that has prevented me from going all digital on Switch is the fear of losing all my games eventually. I'm aware this can happen with every console/company, but at least Microsoft has been doing a good job of allowing you to purchase a game once an playing it in every platform the launch throughout the years. I really don't buy first party Nintendo games digitally anymore because of this. It's a shame and hopefully they decide to change this practice in the future.
I prefer to get physical games if I can also. Because with physical games i can share them with friends and/or family. Digital games can only be played on the account of the person who bought them, or on that persons primary console.
For me, the big reason that I get physical copies is for nostalgia. Every time I get my physical games, it kind of takes me back to my PS1/GBA days where I can’t stop looking at the discs and cartridges I have gotten and it made me the cool kid in school since all my games are authentic. (Pirated copies were a big thing in the Philippines back in the day)
Yeaahh they do not have a good history with maintaining digital content whatsoever. The 3DS was extremely popular and it’s shop is closed like 1 year after they discontinued it. That’s insanely quick
I recently just purchased 2 Switches. I have the Animal Crossing and the OLED. My daughter and I couldn’t be happier. Your videos helped me out a lot. Thank You all the information that you have provided
The Switch is flawed but it is still well underway of becoming my favourite console of all time. It would be extremely difficult to say goodbye to the Switch concept with a new Nintendo console if they decided to do that.
It might just be too successful to completely change up the design. Idk maybe people would be bored of that next generation like they were with the wii u
@@mentalchild360 Anyone that follows gaming knows that Nintendos next gen was in development the day after the Switch released. The Nvidia leak solidifies the fact that the SWOLED was supposed to have that chipset in it, if it weren't for the silicon shortage. Well probably see an updated Switch around 2024-2025, maybe end of 2023.
i play my switch more than my $1,000 PC. Its honestly impressive how Nintendo continues to prove that fun over performance or speculations is better. Not to mention anywhere you want... and this thing gets better everyday and I've had it for over a year.
Yh I play switch more than my xbox series x and I think I'm gonna get the switch oled so I can finally play Zelda Skyward Sword and Splatoon 2/3 on an oled screen
1000 really isn't much for a pc nowadays honestly, not saying the Switch is more powerfull, but you prob get more of a consistent gaming expierence with the Switch + it being a handheld, and the ease of use
The switch is super special to me I have had it since 6th grade and I’m in high school now! Growing up with it after the 3ds has been amazing! I will never love a console more than my 3ds and my switch.
Most of my favorite gaming experiences over the last 5 years has been on my Switch. It really is an amazing console, and Nintendo’s first party support for it is unmatched. I think this is their best lineup of games ever, and we still have probably 2-3 more years of games to come out
I only decided to get a Switch when the pandemic started. Figured Animal Crossing would be a good distraction. Well, so did 30 million other people. Took me a year to find one at MSRP and not in a bundle. Love it. 1000+ hours of ACNH and about 400 in Zelda. Worth the price of admission. In my case it's for exclusives only. In fact Mario Kart just arrived today. Multi-platform games go to my PS4. I'm a docked/TV guy. Eyes suck too much for handheld.
@@keyholes Some games strongly benefit from being played on a big screen. When I first got my switch I mostly played handheld too but after a while started to prefer docked. I also have terrible nearsighted vision but I wear glasses lol.
I just have to leave this here: Your are, by far, the only UA-cam that I´m really looking forward to your sponsored videoclips. They just as entertaining as your real videos! Thank you so much for the creativity you putting into them! So cool! Consider yourself loved
I was on hiatus from gaming(my own console/games), from 2012-2019. I got the Switch a bit later than most, but man was 2019 a crazy year. Fell in love with Octopath, BotW, Mario Odyssey, and then Smash, Astral Chain, I can't name all this stuff. Y'all know what's up. Currently playing the new Kirby demo(it looks/plays great), and SUPER HYPED for Triangularpath Strategies tomorrow.
I almost have the same story with the switch. I bought a switch with BOTW and smash ultimate when it just released. Since then I've played super mario Odyssey, Luigi's mansion 3, Astral Chain, splatoon 2 ( a bit), xenoblade chronicles definitive edition, Age of calimity, metroid dread, fire emblem three houses etc...
Pretty much same for me. I was done with gaming in 2017. On occasion I'd buy a 3DS game for the heck of it. Switch and BOTW was a game changer. Brought AAA gaming to the handheld market.
Man, 5 years seemed like it went so fast. And before we know it, the Switch will be seen as a retro console! Then the online service for this system will become obsolete and shut down. All this hardware is becoming more and more advanced, and so is my age. I only hope that Nintendo reaches the level of hardware and software with it's competitors before I have to sleep 6FT under. Playing an official Super Mario game in 8K would be phenomenal!
Found out about this channel 5 years ago, was on the fence about getting a switch and bob was the one that made me end up getting one, watching the videos and seeing what i was missing
I like the energy. It's just very real to admit that you still really like something but you've just been more in to other things. No need to get super hype and pretend that the switch is your #1 thing. I'll be following your content as long as it stays interesting and funny wether it's about the switch or whatever other gaming/tech garbage you're in to
The save file thing drives me insane. I have a Google Drive, Dropbox, and OneDrive all synced to my emulator's respective save folders. I have saves dating back to 1999 and they're just as viable now as they were then. Feels good. =|
Got mine in 2018. At first, I didn’t play it all too much. I’m not a huge Nintendo fanboy. But I did play BotW and a few other games occasionally. What really made me start playing more was the release of Pokémon games! I grew up with Gens 1-3 and started getting back into Pokémon with the release of Let’s Go and everything up to Legends Arceus. Love my Switch, but Nintendo needs to work on their online systems, like cloud saves, as you said. Edit: I also think they should’ve released an *Official* D-Pad Joy-Con, not just the licensed one from Hori. One that can work wirelessly. It would’ve been a decent option for those were fine using the Joy-Cons with the Grip and didn’t find themselves wanting a Pro Controller.
The Switch was truly game-changing (pun-intended), I just wish the OLED model came with the tiniest of spec bumps to at least make it so BoTW-basically _the_ flagship title-could run without dropping frames anywhere…
@@Chaoskae I guess it’s just that Nintendo is really that cheap… The hardware was more than available to make the Switch 2x what it was at release. I think they changed something super tiny between the two “regular” models, but I can’t even be arsed to remember what it was. I’m fine with the whole “we go at our own pace” vibe Nintendo is on… It’s just that sometimes it really harms the experience when it comes to hardware.
I bought an OLED model and BotW recently. Having never played on a Switch before I was frankly shocked at how completely ass BotW ran on the Switch. Like Nintendo thought this was acceptable and completely fine for their flagship launch title to chug along at 15 fps anytime a particle effect is on screen? Sure it's playable... most of the time but wow is it noticeable and extremely distracting.
Got my OLED Switch yesterday, being my first Nintendo console pretty much ever apart from a GameBoy back in the day. Never owned a Wii, DS or anything else so it’s really exciting diving into a whole new world of games and experiences. Don’t regret a single thing
Being an owner of an OLED, I love using the Switch. I've been a Nintendo fan since a young age, and I am glad that my favorite series are getting new games this year.
My lil cousin got his launch Switch in 8th grade back in 2017. Took it with him to college when he started in 2021. It's crazy to think about how long the switch has been around
Damn bruh, Bob really did make me kinda emotional towards the end... Yes bahb, it has been wonderful being along with you for this ride and I will never forget the past 3 years(I only discovered you then) where I would always follow you. The first couple months I didn't even have a switch but I would be so obsessed with it I would eat up ALL the vids oit there and your channel was the funniest, most good looking and well, fun, of all of them. God knows what the future has in store, whether it's Nintendo switch or... Idk freaking Atari or something😂😂, you can count on atleast me to be among both your views and comments
Apart from the topics, I always fall in love with the quality of the videos and with Bob way of talking. Ma'man really is good at this. Even the sponsors are cool to watch. Aaah, I love this channel so much.
It’s got me through 4 years of living on the road as a trucker, I’m thankful for that, but I wasn’t really impressed with the first party stuff. Looking forward to steam deck.
Without the Switch, I probably never would've found this channel and made so many friends from the community. I still remember your mockup for the NX and loving your and Will's energy so much that I subbed immediately and never left.
Just bought a Switch two weeks ago, One of the best Electronic purchases I've made. I love it and I can't wait to get Smash soon. Already beaten Ganon in Zelda and I'm attempting to 100% it.
Got mine for Christmas in 2018, when the catalogue started to look really impressive. And then got me a Switch Lite in early 2020, because my OG Switch became unusable in portable mode (thanks to a cat). I basically never use my OG Switch nowadays, unless it's a game which requires actual joycons, feels better on the big screen, or is better played in huge chunks. I kinda wish they'd release a Lite OLED version. I'm not really a Nintendo fanboy, but I ended up probably playing more solo games on my Switch than on my PC over that period of time. Especially in 2019, where I always brought it with me while commuting. I finished a few games this way, like Tokyo Mirage Sessions, Luigi's Mansion 3, Pokemon Sword and Shield and probably others. In the end, a lot of the games I've been playing are first party titles from Nintendo. Because their catalogue is just that strong. Just now, I'm playing Arceus, I bought Xenoblade 2 before the physical copies become a scarcity because of Xenoblade 3, and I'm already eyeing the new Kirby game. 2022 looks set to become the year where I use my Switch the most (I think I've actually been playing it almost every day since the beginning of the year, which is kinda wild). Like you, I prefer getting the Switch version of a game if it runs appropriately. It's just an amazing system thanks to its portability. And even though the Steam Deck tries to compete, and despite the many flaws of Nintendo and its account system, the convenience of the Switch (and well, the exclusives, but exclusives suck) will always be what makes me love this system. I'll never be fully switching to the Deck.
I'm really glad I got my Switch. I got the ACNH edition, with the improved power efficiency, and I play it nearly everyday. I spend a lot of time in bed (chronic illness) and handheld mode is my jam. It got me through the lockdowns. No regrets. ♥️
At this point 12:05 is completely unacceptable. As also someone with a large Switch library, games need to start being playable across generations or I'm dropping Nintendo in the future. If I can play a Steam game I bought in 2005 on what is now their direct competitor in the Steam Deck, why would I bother investing my money in another walled garden ever again? They need to start taking these things seriously, because the rest of the industry is catching on, albeit slowly, that this is important to players.
12:12 Nothing solid yet, but Nintendo put emphasis on NSO accounts on an investor presentation and Switch 2 most likely being a beefed up Switch; so there's hope games/data transfer.
I got a switch for my birthday in 2017 but my parents sold it in 2019 because we didn’t have enough money. Fall 2021 I finally saved enough for another and it’s even better than before. So many great games like Mario all stars, skyward sword, acnh, splatoon, and more. If anyone is reading this and you don’t care about graphics and stuff, get a switch for the *fun*.
We got my 7yo an OLED for Christmas in 2021; I started looking before they were released but missed the preorder, and didn't get my hands on one until early December due to stock issues. I don't want to think about how many hours I have into BOTW. I picked up Arceus when it came out, I put a bunch of hours into that as well... We play smash bros together frequently, I have Mario Odyssey, I picked up when it was on sale, and haven't even cracked the plastic wrapping yet. We have eight games right now, another eight we want to get (most coming out this year) but not enough time to play the ones we do have. I hate the subscription service model, we haven't bought into the switch online yet, I'm also not a fan of the paid DLC content model either. Edit: We still have our OG Wii hooked up for Wii Sports, when Switch Sports comes out, we may finally retire it.
Just wait until you have 100+ games like I do (most of them under $10). I really just get obsessed with a few at a time but I definitely don't have enough time to even start a lot of them, I just keep finding games on sale that I want to play eventually.
Switch bought a bunch of new people to Nintendo. I’ve never had a Nintendo product, saw someone play botw and I fell in love. I used to play Pokémon on my brothers gba and on emulators so I got sword as well. Still living my switch
I started with an xbox360, loved the controller and I really had fun with it, but I didn’t get to play it much. I still own a lot of sealed games even. For the next gen I bought a ps4, just because so many friends had the ps3 and loved it and I wanted to experience all that passion they had. I ffff hated the ps4, the thing would take ages to load up a game. Every time I wanted to play a quick game, it would just take ages updating. I live in a rural area and the internet was and still is very slow. I ended up practically not playing the thing. It’s stored as good as new. I still regret expending all that money for a thing I didn’t get to enjoy ever I think. I ended up thinking gaming wasn’t for me. When the switch was released I didn’t think anything about it, I thought it was just another gimmick. I gifted a wii u to my sister years before but she didn’t really play it so much, and his scumbag bf ended up being the one playing it, so it didn’t appeal to me to even consider a nintendo console. But that changed when I met a girl who loved the old snes donkey Kong country and I figured there was a dk game for the switch, tropical freeze, which I now know is a port from the wii u. So I bought the switch oled at launch (i didn’t even realised it was the new model), and OMG this thing is the greatest console ever made. The fact that you can take it anywhere and resume your gameplay on your tv is not a gimmick, it’s the way to go. It’s grab and play. I’m becoming a gamer because of it I think, the only problem is I still suck at games 🤣
Can we all just recognize how well he's been able to comp himself in to these Ad Segments!?! I mean it kind of took me by surprise when I saw him walk over himself like WOAH!!! How did he Do that so fast!?
had the lite for 1 year but rarely played, recently traded it in for a oled and its a much better experience. i play a lot in handheld mode. battery life is much better and the 7 inch screen is a perfect size for a 720p screen imo (For entry games, botw, Metroid dread, arceus, Mario kart, and smash) got hours of gameplay, over 100+ missions and quest and secrets to unlock
I just bought a oled switch back in January and I love it been playing breath of the wild and hollow knight which is so difficult but I got good after trying and trying again and again but its what you have to do and it's the first Nintendo system I have owned since the game cube and I love it.
Been following the channel since the launch of the switch. Love all your content, especially the twitch streams. Keep up the great work and I look forward to all you have going on in the future!
Love the Switch, I have 3 of them. But I do find the little nagging things like managing digital content and cloud save limitations that you brought up to be a real rain on its parade. Recently I tried to load up Age of Calamity on one of my secondary systems, and apparently it will not let me use the DLC at all. Haven't tried too much to fix it, but I hope this gets fixed soon. No other game keeps me from playing DLC across all my systems. UPDATE: Looks like I just had to redownload the DLC for AOC, despite having the latest update for the game. Still, it's very bizarre how different and worse Nintendo handles online stuff.
It's Nintendo so sadly it will never be fixed. Nintendo is a company that puts out great games but does everything else incredibly poorly. Nothing would make me happier than if they pulled a SEGA and went to game development only.
Yea Bob your channel, particularly the video about the first year of the nintendo switch played a good part on my decision to buy one. Idk the way you present stuff with your edits make them very compelling.
with the third one coming out, I urge everyone to play Xenoblade. I caught up on the whole series this year. three huge, triple-digit-hour JRPGs may not be everyones taste but if you can get into them the experience is well worth it, and now Xenoblade 3 is my most anticipated game of the year... aside from BOTW2 and Legends Arceus. Also, I have a strong feeling at least the next generation will have backwards compatibility. I think the big reason the Switch didnt have any is that like... theres nowhere to slap a disk drive for Wii U games or another cartridge slot for 3DS games, and only supporting digital purchases would have been a half-measure. After Nintendo's nonchalance about the closure of their eShops, I am more than happy to take my homebrewed consoles elsewhere.
This guy knows what he’s talking about. I love xenoblade. Great combat, great story, not to mention the awesome music. I’m so hyped for the third game man, it’s the first time I’m going into a xenoblade game completely blind without knowing a single thing about it. I’m hyped to hear the ost!
"triple-digit-hour JRPGs may not be everyones taste" Yeah, you completely lost me at "triple digit hour". 😂 That's not a selling point, that's a massive downside. I have a life to live, other games to play, I have no time for bloated triple-digit-hour games.
I got my gf to get a switch :) we love playing couch coop games like unravel two, marvel alliance, overcooked, 1-2 switch, cat quest 2, waaaaah the list goes on and on! I got her to solo play inside too! She loved it!
I am getting a Switch OLED for my birthday as I’ve recently gotten nostalgic over Mario games and other Nintendo titles that I used to play on the Wii and WiiU. Only been playing PlayStation since late 2013. I can’t wait to get back into Nintendo and Switch seems like such a great and fun console.
Time really does fly. Overall, I'm happy with the Switch, especially after upgrading to an OLED from a Lite as a treat. Though I really do want Nintendo to fix their dang Joy Cons and make NSO something worth buying. At the moment, neither form is worth the money, not with internet performance being so poor and the upgrade having so little to offer.
Regarding pokemon not supporting cloud saves, to my knowledge no pokemon game allows this due to the devs not wanting you to find a way to clone your pokemons through file spoofing, it's not a mistake or something that can be "fixed", it's a design decision (never really works cuz people find other ways to file spoof anyway), this issue was also on the 3ds, where it allowed you to backup save your game files for most games, except for some, most notably, pokemon games, for the same reason, plus you say it's a single player game but you can transfer pokemon from game to game, so even if it's single player, spoofing that game would give you unlimited pokemon to transfer over to online games, not defending pokemon here, quite frankly i also hate that you can't cloud save, i'm just stating facts.
Hello fellow switch fans. five years later, i’m going to take the leap and purchase the Nintendo Switch OLED. i’ll be experiencing Zelda for the first time in my life, and my first Mario Kart since the days of the Gamecube. If you guys have any recommendations for games that play well here that aren’t first party exclusives (which is really what i’m purchasing the system for) id love to take them!
I was cautious of the Switch after the terrible Wii U, but then SSBU made me go right away into the store on December and get one. Best decision ever, with over 40 titles on it now. The entire concept of the console is pure perfection whether you are a hardcore Nintendo fan or a casual/party player. The first time I had a power outage at home in the middle of BoTW and I just grabbed it from the dock to keep going I realized this was the future. Non-stop gaming, period.
@@gold571 Not good. Terrible hardware, terrible gimmick, terrible price point, and small niche library of games. It failed for a good reason, like all failed consoles.
The Switch is amazing in nearly every way except for Nintendo's shitty business practices and the garbage hardware. The Switch was underpowered for what it was at launch. 5 years later it's just sad.
Having a PC and Switch is probably the epitome of backlog. It's ridiculous and I wish I could just retire and play games at all times to get through everything.
hasn't even occurred to me that it's been 5 years already! it feels like the switch still has a whole lifetime of its own to happen as there's a ton more that nintendo could still do with it
Honestly having a Switch lite changed my life, it's my first Nintendo Console since I had the famicon (I'm not in the US, here we got stuff imported from Japan at the time, games had zero text and came with the booklet) and honestly while I just got it last year I enjoyed it so much I had to buy the big Switch just for the sake of having friends over to play. Even got another switch lite for a friend and now that I'm finally getting into game development I want to get the games my studio makes into the switch. Last year was one of the best years in my life and without any exaggeration, my Switch lite was a big part of it.
@@QuizMasterEntertainment oh......well if you do get it at some point I would like to play some of your games seeing as you say you are getting into game development!
I personally got the Switch when it released, and it was mind-blowing then, definitely my favorite Nintendo console, but after 5 years, my current switch has reduced battery, joycon drift, and the whole thing just feels outdated. To add to that, I can't justify getting a new one or an OLED because the hardware is so noticeably bad that even 1st party games have a hard time running smoothly on the Switch. I'm currently waiting for Nintendo's next console, but not only does it seem like it'll be a long time until we'll see an actual upgrade to the Switch, but the Steam Deck just officially came out, and I'm getting mine around December. I think Nintendo will have to do something quite spectacular to earn my money any time soon, sadly.
if anyone is asking, the song at the start is the download management theme from the WiiU menu, around somewhere at 0:47 it doesnt really sound like the original theme so its probably a remix
I'd love to use my switch more if it weren't for the fact that 5 year old games are still $60 on it. And whatever isn't a nintendo exclusive is usually on Steam for a fraction of the price. I still only own like 5 games. I never even really got enough enjoyment out of my switch to warrant buying new games, but I'm glad most people seem to have gotten more enjoyment out of it than me.
You could buy 2 Steam Decks and play the Steam versions for cheaper than just buying the games on Switch if you play a lot. Nintendo's practices are so shitty. My Switch is strictly for games held hostage by Nintendo.
Yeah that is one of reasons I prefer my aya neo to my switch, there are always sales on steam I picked up: gta 5, Skyrim, trials fusion, mirrors edge collection and the crew all on steam in sales. While Skyrim is still £60 on the eshop on the switch!
And not just the games. The hardware seems to be fairly expensively prices still considering it's almost effectively dated legacy hardware now. Should be £110-150 for a console unit, but it's still like £250 for base model and £310 for OLED in 2023. For a console that has outdated specs from 2017, the pricing is absolutely ridiculous, and new comers might as well wait for a inevitable upcoming stock clearance or wait and just get the next Nintendo successor (especially if it's bc).
This sponsee section was one of the best in a long time. I really never skip them cause you put a lot of effort and humor into them. Also I absolutely love the Switch despite its issues, and I’m so excited for this year cause it seems the best since 2017.
I worked at EB Games during the Nintendo Switch launch. The fact it was 5 years ago blows me away. I still have my red Nintendo Polo shirt hanging in my closet from that launch.
Yeah I see your point, I got mine early in it’s lifespan when I was like 10-12 yo. Now I have like $1.2k worth of games, I can’t imagine what an adult would end up spending with a larger collection
I have a lot of health issues so I'm constantly in some type of waiting room and Switch has really been a good distraction from that. I got the OG model with BOTW in April 2017. I got the last one in the store. That whole wing of the mall doesn't even exist anymore but the store did relocate and I still regularly go buy my games at the new location. I upgraded to the V2 when that came out and gave the OG to my mom. She likes puzzle games. Last year, I got the OLED, gave my V2 to my mom and the OG to my brother who plays Doom and Fortnite. It's so nice to have this console I can't just take anywhere with me but also bond with my family over and I honestly can't imagine my life without it. I play more handheld for the abovementioned reasons but keep my Switch docked when I'm at home. I mostly got it because I had all Nintendo handhelds and knew Pokémon would come eventually but my favourite games turned out to be BOTW (obviously), Splatoon 2, Mario Odyssey, Luigi's Mansion 3 and ACNH.
Dude that Helix promotion was worth the video by itself. So funny dude. The amount of work you put into that deserves whatever you got for promoting the product. Makes me want to buy one lol
I got the Switch summer of 2018 with Mario Odyssey. I had a great time with it. Now my Switch library is close to 20 games. My wife loves her's and we both like to play co-op. It's a great console for casual and competitive players.
I've had my switch for a few months now, and I absolutely love it. Everything is so new to me, I wasn't that big into handheld consoles. I had a 3DS XL but no money for games, so I was stuck playing Pokemon Y forever. My two "awakenings" were putting CFW on my 3DS and buying a Switch. I regret not buying one sooner, but life is life, can't afford every whim I have
You still have that switch on to test for burn in. 🙂 I have had my switch for a year now. I love it. Botw is why I ended up finally getting one. It's been a great year. 👍 Love your work Wulff. I still haven't bought Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Lol.
It seems like the switch is timeless. With the feature of having it as a portable handheld console and being able to use it as a normal console with its two stock controllers is most definitely revolutionary.
I’m 25, thinking about the switch basically aging with me during my 20s and how I started my UA-cam channel based on the OLED launch is crazy to think about
That opening section about probably not even enjoying video games anymore is so true, I just try to see what can work on what like playing games on my calculator or showing my friends in class that you can Mario kart Wii on your laptop.
I bought the OLED switch 6 weeks ago and I am even happier than when I pre ordered the PS4 and received it on release - it has changed my perspective on gaming plus I absolutely love the portability
I got mine Christmas 2018...shortly before the newer model with improved battery life was released. Still a bit miffed about that. So far I've been happy with it. I'm thinking about buying a new switch before it is phased out and the price goes up again...
I got a switch OLED for Christmas. before, I had a switch lite which was fine but being able to dock it and having better screen and battery life is the best upgrade I could ask for and I couldn’t be happier with it
the switch being 5 years old does make me feel old. i remember the night of release, i snagged a preorder at best buy, but best buy was sold out of zelda. I preordered zelda at gamestop and my mom went to go pick up my copy of zelda while i stood in line for my switch! Only console ive ever done a midnight release for.
So happy to see Billy Walsh is doing so well after Entourage. Seriously though are you Rhys Coiro''s brother?!?!.... and you might have convinced me to buy a Switch!
I bought a Switch about two years ago and I currently have 101 physical games :D its red boxes are beautiful side by side with my 80 blue physical ps4 games :D
It's actually REALLY reassuring and validating for me that you have SO many games that you've never played 'cause I have about...almost 50 games, I think, and I've only yet played MAYBE 10-15 of them? lol. I feel bad about that a lot, but I'm just more of a computer person, writing and reading and watching stuff, lol. I LOVE my Switch, though! I fangirl about it all the time, and I help out on the Switch subreddit a lot! lol. I just don't play it as much as I use my comp. lol. But anyway, my point is, THANK YOU for saying that! Makes me feel a lot better!

I just got one recently with the OLED and couldn't be happier. I'm late to the Switch game but it is totally worth it. I'm playing Zelda Breath of the Wild right now. The last game I played was Battlefield 3 some years back but this is great.
Better late than never! Welcome to the gang!!

Well tbf we know that a Switch 2 is in existence after the ransomware attack on Nvidia a few days ago which leaked the chipset of it
i feel like nintendo will keep their next console as a hybrid system even if they don’t go with the switch branding
@@mentalchild360 Anyone that follows gaming knows that Nintendos next gen was in development the day after the Switch released. Most of my favorite gaming experiences over the last 5 years has been on my Switch. It really is an amazing console, and Nintendo’s first party support for it is unmatched. I think this is their best lineup of games ever, and we still have probably 2-3 more years of games to come out
İts like the golden Age of Gamers!

Triangularpath Stratetraveler**, thank you very much
Pretty much same for me.
Same. I stumbled across the Wulff Bros while trying to get info about NX and never left.
I like how the Switch OLED is still shown in videos even though it's constantly trying to get burn-in on a Botw screenshot.
Kudos to not being afraid of pun usage. 👑
I try to tell people this all the time. I dont understand how a console cannot run a launch title efficiently..... Like how?
@@Chaoskae I guess it’s just that Nintendo is really that cheap… The hardware was more than available to make the Switch 2x what it was at release. I think they changed something super tiny between the two “regular” models, but I can’t even be arsed to remember what it was.
I’m fine with the whole “we go at our own pace” vibe Nintendo is on… It’s just that sometimes it really harms the experience when it comes to hardware.
@@magnetwhisperer it was battery life. I have an original switch and the battery freaking sucks. I might upgrade to oled just for the battery

Just got my first switch today. Been growing up with playstation and never owned a Nintendo product. Cant wait to start this journey
oh man you’ll enjoy it,, it’s so cool how you can take it everywhere
Been loving my Switch since 2019. Most played console and maybe fav portable since the DS; and I've barely touched 1st party stuff yet.
I’m becoming a gamer because of it I think, the only problem is I still suck at games 🤣
please keep those sealed 360 games for a long time, they’ll be worth a whole lot in many years!
I still have Battlfield 3 for Xbox 360 sealed in case. Never intend to open it 🤣.

(For entry games, botw, Metroid dread, arceus, Mario kart, and smash) got hours of gameplay, over 100+ missions and quest and secrets to unlock
The fact the Atari 2600 and I both debuted the same year makes me feel old, not the age of the Switch.
I just bought a oled switch back in January and I love it been playing breath of the wild and hollow knight which is so difficult but I got good after trying and trying again and again but its what you have to do and it's the first Nintendo system I have owned since the game cube and I love it.

IT'S BEEN 5 YEARS!?!?!? Time really does "drift" when you are having fun.
You are one of the only people I don’t just skip through the sponsor spot on. It’s great that you still bring entertainment value to it.
Nothing would make me happier than if they pulled a SEGA and went to game development only.

with the third one coming out, I urge everyone to play Xenoblade.

Keep pushing forward with the more unique editing. Singular vibes on this channel.
Nintendo Switch is great, in my top 5 favorite systems.
You never get to old for this shit. 50 years old and will never stop gaming. You rock sir.

Wii u was good, just badly marketed and released. Games were awesome, multiscreen, good eshop.

I think Nintendo will have to do something quite spectacular to earn my money any time soon, sadly.
if anyone is asking, the song at the start is the download management theme from the WiiU menu, around somewhere at 0:47
it doesnt really sound like the original theme so its probably a remix
Steam deck let’s goooo

Every awful thing you can say about Apple and their business methods, Nintendo does the same. Yet hardcore Gamers lap it up at the bidet of m’Nippon.
I worked at EB Games during the Nintendo Switch launch. The fact it was 5 years ago blows me away. I still have my red Nintendo Polo shirt hanging in my closet from that launch.
Let's hope the Steam Deck scares Nintendo into being better (Cloud saves for all games, increased backwards compatibility, better netcode etc.)

There are 2 things stopping me from buying my first Switch.
The price of the games on the store and the fact the store will close down.

Damn hearing that Wii U firmware theme hits! …I wish the Switch had music themes like Wii U, 3DS. It added personality
ITS BEEN 5 YEARS?!?? No way
Dude that Helix promotion was worth the video by itself. So funny dude. The amount of work you put into that deserves whatever you got for promoting the product. Makes me want to buy one lol
i just bought a switch OLED loving it bought 4 games with it, zelda botw, mario odyssey, mario cart, and smash!
I’m 25, thinking about the switch basically aging with me during my 20s and how I started my UA-cam channel based on the OLED launch is crazy to think about
That opening section about probably not even enjoying video games anymore is so true, I just try to see what can work on what like playing games on my calculator or showing my friends in class that you can Mario kart Wii on your laptop.
it feels weird hearing the switch came out 5 years ago. it seems way too new to even be that old.
i remember the release like it was yesterday
3:45 THAT IS THE CUTEST RAT I HAVE EVER SEEN.
I bought the OLED switch 6 weeks ago and I am even happier than when I pre ordered the PS4 and received it on release - it has changed my perspective on gaming plus I absolutely love the portability
Got mine last year on january. It's worth it. I love that it has lot of indie games in its library which are excelent for this system.
Always love your ads, what steps do you use for your dog? I love the look of them!
Maybe the real Nintendo Switch was the friends we made along the way.
I got mine Christmas 2018...shortly before the newer model with improved battery life was released. Still a bit miffed about that. So far I've been happy with it.
I'm thinking about buying a new switch before it is phased out and the price goes up again...
Bruh, I'm interested in all the gaming stuff, but Bob's production value and jokes are what keep me coming back.
What took so long!! Been at work all morning waiting for this video to drop :P hahaha! :-) Happy Thursday all!
I had the options of both purchasing either the ole switch or the normal switch and I chose the normal switch.
