I love making floral herbal candles! I infuse the wax with my loose leaf tea. When I sell them I add in big bold lettering for use with candle warmer or decorative piece only! Very big Lettering! Though people don’t listen or read…. But it is on the bottom of the candle/teacup.
Thank you so much!… ❤️You are the first person that has literally answered my question as to how and what happens when you put dry leaves inside a candle! All these videos I’ve watched they’ve demonstrated how they make them but never really even gone through to show the process!🥺 and your video was amazing🥰 thank you so much for showing me☺️ I’ve been trying to ask questions as to what happens after it’s burning ? If it’s safe? And you have answered them all thank you so much greatly appreciate it!❤️
This video was exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for taking all the time in making this video. I'm only disappointed that you didn't let us in on what happens when the candle gets all the way to the bottom re: burning the dried botanicals.
I’ve made candles with dried flowers. When my flower floats to the wick, it did catch fire as well, but it went out on its on. When the candles are to the bottom and all of the wax is gone that’s when it may be a serious hazard.
Thank you for making this! I have heard that this could be unsafe with wicked candles but some people may use this method of decor with wickless candles instead as they don't have a flame. But seeing them with wicked candles makes it that much more informative!!
Great video..beautiful candle! I think the flowers make the candle but understand your feelings on selling them..maybe just a few petals instead of many
This video was very informative. Lots of detail. I had thought about doing botanical candles. I am glad to see this video now because it changed my mind. Better safe than sorry.
I just ordered candle making supplies. I see I need to order a few more things to make this easier. I have seen the rose hips & botanicals crushed does look nice. Thank you for this tutorial I learned something new all the way through it. Keep them coming. God Bless
I made these with shallower candles and dried flowers and herbs and it set on fire. Maybe using a bigger candle is better and make sure your covering flowers with wax
I'm SO glad you did this video! I've been wondering and wondering about the dried botanicals on top with a flame.... This was really interesting and helpful. Thank you.
Too many flowers and 3 wicks definitely can be bit risky. I’d vote for very little flowers and perhaps a smaller 1 wick candle. The whole buds catch fire more so than the crumbs when used with scarcity.
Yeah, just shred the roses in tiny little pieces and add them. To all who would love to sell them: NEVER add dried flowers when selling candles: they will burn, you will be responsible. It looks nice, I know, but its too dangerous. Just tiny pieces are safe.
Hi I loved the video, the candle looks beautiful, but me personally I'm afraid to put dry flowers. Question I read on a comment you said you use mica colors on candles, dont the mica could clot the wicks?
I was wondering would it be safe if I didn't add the big flowers, just a couple of dried rose petals? I don't put dye in my candles, so I was wanting to add a couple of flower petals for color decors. Thanks.
My one experience adding lavender and rosemary to a candle...when all the wax was gone the rosemary lit😮😮😮...like in the video I will not be gifting candles with vegetation in..they do look beautiful though
They definitely do. I bought some on Etsy and it was combustible it went on fire and thank goodness I was there to throw water over it. Very dangerous stuff
Okay so you did a fabulous job editing & making this very informative.. However I do have a sincere question that I am generally wondering... How is small dried flowers catching a secondary micro flame in a Candle a fire hazard? I mean well I promise so don't come for me people.. I burn candles every day. I've made a couple with my daughter, I'm no expert. But I am just puzzled at how at any point of burning said candle is a bigger fire hazard with dried flowers vs just a plain burn.?? Best Wishes I look forward to learning more! ❤
I think it's. MOre of a toxic hazard than fire hazard cause your right a flame is a flame but clean burn is better and toxic burn setting if smoke alarms etc
I bought this wax by the case..you pour at 160 temp by the way.. and it does perform so perfectly for candles and wax tarts..however the scent is horrible! It has a SOAP SMELL LIEK THE KIND YOU WOULD USE TO MAKE HOMEMADE LAUNDRY DETWERGENT FLAKES WITH...i CANT GET PAST IT..WHEN CANDLE WAX MELTS LOSE THE SCENT AFTER BURNIGN YOU THEN SMELL IT AGAIN! SORRY FOR CAPS
I cringe every time I see a candle covered in petals. I have a candle that comes with a few on it but it's not drown in them. Most of them stay near the edge or bottom of the melted wax and hardly ever get neat the flame.
I know this question doesn’t go with the video put i was wondering your thoughts on joywax. The candles themselves look amazing but im having a heck of a time getting good cold and hot throws from it. Little to non in alot of cases. Ive followed directions to a T and also played around with it a bit but cant find anything that works. Ive noticed in other blogs that the c/h throw is an issue. I love the wax for its ease of use and smooth tops it produces but most people want a candle they can smell lol. Im new to candle making and chose this wax because natural products are important to me. Any suggestions? Or another wax you could recommend that is easy to work with and is natural.
I used joy wax after watching her video, I spent months trying out wicks and fragrance percentages, nothing worked.. so I gave up and switched to coconut wax, hot throw is good but I m still trying the wicks.. I wouldn’t waste more time on joy wax if you believe you have spent enough time testing
@@ilaydasayin9257 thanks for the info. How is your experience with the coconut wax? Is it like joywax in that its pretty hard to mess up as far as smooth tops and glass adhesion and all or do you need to go back over them with a heatgun.
I had glass adhesion issue with coconut wax but my solution is to use darker color glass or metal tins. The tops are very smooth but not as great as joywax. I first tried soywax and the tops were really bad even after heatgun.. Coconut wax is so much better. I would read other people’s comments on joywax and based on those, not lose more time and switch the wax, since smell is the most important thing. The tops are very smooth though! I hope it helps
@@ilaydasayin9257 Sounds like i’ll be switching waxes. I literally just bought another round of joywax but i hate to waist oils and other supplies on something that’s just not going to work. Thanks for the info, appreciate it!
@@debbiesylvester2774 back when I first started candle making in the early 2000’s I did use both vybar and steric acid. But wax has really improved since then and I haven’t used it in probably 15 years
This would have been more balanced if a candle with flowers on the sides, not the top, was also made. Crafters who use dried flowers usually refrain from putting the flowers on the top. So the video does not make a strong point for me.

Wouldn't it be better to add any botanicals half way through it setting up? Just a thought
Yeah that happened to me. I burnt a candle with rose pedals and when the wax was gone it didn’t go out. The pedals started to burn
This was really good. Thanks for being so honest and real about your review & for actually showing it from start to finish.
You are welcome!

Thank you for making this video. This helped a lot!! This is the first video I’ve seen that actually shows you the ending result. 👏🏽 💕
I love this idea, and im going to try it but ill use rose petals only in small amounts. I think that would be pretty safe. Thanks for sharing. 🌈🐳🐬
This is beautiful. Personally I would not add these for safety reasons.
I've been wondering about making these and the safety. Thank you! This was so informative.

Yes! The more you add the bigger the risk 😊

Gorgeous candle but the potential for danger is tremendous. I think molded wax flowers are best.
Thank you! And yes, it is a risk...
Thanks for showing the burn I had the same question about using botanical really is beautiful I appreciate you sharing this information super valuable

Perhaps these should only be used with candle warmers?
Very informative and helpful, thank you for making this video. The arrangement of flowers is beautiful.
Hi I loved the video, the candle looks beautiful, but me personally I'm afraid to put dry flowers.
Question I read on a comment you said you use mica colors on candles, dont the mica could clot the wicks?
Yes, I feel the same way, 😊 if you use a little mica and just sprinkle it on the top it does not affect the wick.
Thanks so much for this video! I have the Brambleberry fo too, and love it! In saw they didn't test it in candlewax so this is good to know
Yes! It was so good with this wax!
Thank you for this really good video. I wondered about botanicals in candles too. Now I know. Thank again.❤️

They definitely do. I bought some on Etsy and it was combustible it went on fire and thank goodness I was there to throw water over it. Very dangerous stuff

These are the candles I make ❤️❤️
they are so beautiful!
Thanks for this tutorial I was thinking the same do the flowers catch on fire ? Is it a fire hazard?
I like the candle but no flowers for me
Thank you

Yes!
Someone said to use smaller botanicals to prevent fire risk
hello is it safe to lit the candles while the dry flower is on the candles and lit?
I don't believe it is. On my instagram I showed the end result when the candle gets low the flowers catch fire.
Could I add glass figures inside a candle safely?
