When I finally filed the tank, the capacity of water came back at 19L but the tank wasn't filled to the top as I left 1.5 inch gap for spillage, because the tanks sitting on my large wooden dog crate, so I did this to avoid any spillages from the dogs movement in the crate. - Розваги

Holy Christ that tank is more filter than water, lol
I'm amazed that the 3kg bag of Biogravel was almost enough considering how high bumps and valleys are on that type of foam but a normal gravel cleaner should be fine for cleaning it since it's very similar to the Biorb upgrades using the Biogravel.
As long as the system gets a gravel cleaning every 1-2 weeks that should be all you need to do to remove any uneaten food and fish waste.
I recommended that people do a deep clean on the upgraded Biorb tanks but as far as I know nobody does that since they go in weekly with a gravel cleaner.
Bumpy side down would be a lot cheaper but if you go for this method and want to plant directly in the bio gravel you will need 3.5 KG so plants will go directly in the bio gravel (unless you locate the grooves in the mega foams & plant directly in them) I tried random placements of plants yesterday and didnt work so at 3kgs you would have to use led weights or pots or find the grooves in the #MEGAFOAMS.
With bumpy side down, I think you will ok be with 2.5KG of #BIOHRAVEL it will work if you wanted to plant directly in the bio gravel to (BUMPY SIDE DOWN)
if you didn't want to plant, a 2KG bag of #BIOGRAVEL should do tank this size no problems. the #MEGAFOAMS will have to be BUMPY SIDE DOWN & not BUMPY SIDE UP. for 2KG to work.
The method to my #MADNESS here is I wouldn't feed anything like flake with this I'd use floating pellets, or live brine shrimp, daphnia...
My methods to feed a male Betta fish one two pellets a day
I'm going to be doing water test on two systems at six months only thing different will be one tank will have a male betta fish and maybe a small pleco and the other one will have two female Betta fish.
@@Stallion-Koi There's not many times I would say this but there may be an overkill of filtration going on here, lol
@@pondguru haha overkill isn't the word I managed to get some plants in last night. Look out for part 3 which will be completion of the full set up and the Betta fish we chose... Probably be done in next few days
I see how dirty my canister filters get every 3-4 months. I need to take them out & rinse in tank water then back in canister.
I agree that bio balls under under gravel would be great, or lavarock etc
Reason is once that filter clogs might notame your undergrav filter work correctly.
The idea here is not to over feed. Your probably over feeding but have a canister filter taking care of this. Remember using live foods such as brine shrimp will cut your problems in half with this kind of system. I shown you how to take care of maintenance using a turkey bastor.
In the part 3 I will cover everything and more how to maintain this set up. I wouldn't do this on large aquariums. But your going to see a similar method I'll be doing soon on a 185 tank.. so watch this space
