It's not about defending. Saturn has worse durability than a Topi Roppo, his physical attacks keep getting shoved easily, and he can't react to anything properly. Essentially, he's online alive due to regeneration. That's insanely disappointing.

It’s common in manga/anime when somebody has regeneration powers, mangaka is free to do all sorts of gory and lethal attacks as they aren’t limited anymore 😂. Look at Kid Buu for example. I definitely think that Kuma Punch is a high Yc1 level attack at the least, a very enranged and willpower boosted attack by someone with Cyborg, buccaneer and very high momentum. People like Shanks/Mihawk if were to stand there and not block would get pretty messed up as well. We can’t really gauge too well atm because we don’t know the full scope of where Kuma scales and Saturn doesn’t seem to be going all out combat mode
Don't underestimate Saturn's power simply because Oda is taking liberties to abuse his regeneration. Cause lets be honest, if Saturn did not have the ability to regenerate then he would not have lost any limbs, he would not have been completely pierced by Franky's laser. Saturn's ability to regenerate allows Oda to take creative liberties with the injuries inflicted onto him.
It's incredible how people can't understand the meaning of things and what Oda's writing. The only attack Saturn acctually took so far was the Kuma punch he tried to muscle through and wasn't able, having his body shred and it makes no difference is how Oda shows his power. Introducing the immortality surgery has to have a purpose beyond Doflamingo wanting it. Barring it being eventually being used on Luffy to keep him from killing himself with all his life shortening abilities, I would assume all the Gorosei have had the surgery but being granted immortality comes with the drawback of losing your lifespark, your will and therefore they can't use Haki. You lose the spice of life because you're now effectively immortal. Could be an interesting reveal later if we run into Law again and he reveals what the immortality surgery is and how it would be performed. Could see it as not true immortality but stolen lifetimes from sacrifices kind of like how Big Mom stole souls. Can only heal for as many lives as were sacrificed for your surgery or something like that. There has to be some gimmick to beating it. Also there's one other scenario I just thought about. What if Saturn never actually teleported there? The real Saturn. Is it possible that Saturn being a science G may have figured out hard light or something like that? We saw early on that the light can be hit with special gloves. What if he figured out a way to make the light solid based on Vegapunk's research? They can't hurt him because he's a solid hologram.
The solid hologram reveal would be epic. It would further prove Saturn’s “God of Science” title (and how much of a troll he is). If that happens then he’s on par with Vegapunk as best scientist in the verse.

How are you power scaling a guy who isn't even there to fight, and doesn't even care about taking damage ? He literally let Bonney stab him, and there's reason to think he did the same with Kuma, because he stood there asking Vegapunk questions before Kuma's punch landed. The minute he gets up, he simply resumes his questioning, like he didn't just get punched through numerous buildings. And when he gets his answer, he just casually regenerates his limb, says "Alright, it's time to die, guys" , tries to kill Kuma , totally ignores Sanji's kick and a laser blasting through him, and then aks that the Buster Call just start, while he stays right there (probably to make sure they all die). Saturn showed up only to overtake Vegapunk's command over the pacifistas, and because Kizaru was failing the mission. Otherwise, he would have stayed on the ship. He sees the lot of them like insects, who can do nothing to him, and he has no reason to dirty his hands squashing them. He'll let Kizaru handle them. However, we know he can immobilize people as strong as Franky and Sanji, his mere eyeshot is strong enough to make Sanji bleed (same guy who tanked S-Shark's punch like a mosquito bite), and he's physically strong enough to easily pierce Kuma's cyborg-Buccaneer body if he wants to. Anything else is just plot device, like why on earth hasn't Kizaru or Saturn killled Stella already ? there isn't enough information to actually powerscale recent events yet so people in the video are slipping and sliding over trying to create headcanon to explain why they feel a certain way. Definitely a discussion that would benefit from waiting a few chapters.
The gorosei are probably all tied to Imu's power (the same way Luffy will probably influence or have people like Bonney or the iron giant that work in tandem with him). The strongest characters are probably these royal knights. It doesnt mean the gorosei suck because they are weaker than Kaido; i highly doubt till we see otherwise that Saturn is much weaker if at all weaker than Kizaru.
It has been said over and over. If you want to complain where these takes are going. It’s hard to gauge how strong the Gorosei actually are. Also hard to gauge strength when the last fight the straw hats had was a yonko. No denying that but does that mean Saturn needs to do something crazy to win us over than yes and I think killing Kuma infront of Bonnie and Luffy. So you can understand why ppl have been in a frenzy to figure out how powerful these guys are. They have the ability to change the scope of strength in one piece. If Saturn isn’t whipped clean. This amount of Cope is wildddd, bruhs Saturn was heavily injured by Kuma with a haki punch which Kuma isn't known for all Kumas better feats are devil fruit attacks. People forget Kuma hit him hard enough to send Saturn flying so fast he lost his arm by making contact with a building. If Saturn can't tank a haki punch from Kuma who isn't known for it, he'd be obliterated if a haki master was to have done it. However to spite downplayers words on stream nobody of importance in OP is building level anymore, we've had everyone scaling above building level since albasta. So Saturn didn't lose the arm to the building, he lost it due to the punch. Even me giving Saturn that credit, Saturn factually has less durability feats & strength feats/statements than all the commanders we've seen so yeah people giving him excuses is crazy at Saturn's best he's vice admiral level & that's pushing it lol😂

So if you guys were writing the story, you would’ve just had Saturn take some massive hits, take no damage from them and then say “I have crazy regen abilities too by the way, so even if it did hurt me, I’d be fine” ?????? Saturn needs significant wounds in order to impactfully show the reader his significant regen abilities right out the gate, and Kuma’s story needs something of a payoff after his flashback. Oda did both at once. Saturn takes a bit of extra damage after the initial hit, loses a limb, and we get to see that he can grow them right back anyway. We get Kuma’s revenge and Saturn’s relentlessness all in one punch.
Ulquiorra from Bleach proves this point to be completely moot. He is a character with regen that can also tank hits. I'm tired of people excusing crap durability with regen. These abilities aren't mutually exclusive in manga as people seem to think. Either Saturn's overall power is written terribly or he just doesn't stack up as a true threat for the Strawhats. This latest chapter seems to further prove that Saturn's purpose was always to be a trap threat not a physical one. Kizaru deals all the damage to the Strawhats and Saturn has no feats to imply he is anything more than we've seen so far. Edit: By the way there are many ways to organically introduce regen powers without making a character have zero durability.

I think sometimes people go so deep into theory they can’t pull themselves up.
How are you power scaling a guy who isn't even there to fight, and doesn't even care about taking damage ? He literally let Bonney stab him, and there's reason to think he did the same with Kuma, because he stood there asking Vegapunk questions before Kuma's punch landed. The minute he gets up, he simply resumes his questioning, like he didn't just get punched through numerous buildings. And when he gets his answer, he just casually regenerates his limb, says "Alright, it's time to die, guys" , tries to kill Kuma , totally ignores Sanji's kick and a laser blasting through him, and then aks that the Buster Call just start, while he stays right there (probably to make sure they all die).
Saturn showed up only to overtake Vegapunk's command over the pacifistas, and because Kizaru was failing the mission. Otherwise, he would have stayed on the ship. He sees the lot of them like insects, who can do nothing to him, and he has no reason to dirty his hands squashing them. He'll let Kizaru handle them. However, we know he can immobilize people as strong as Franky and Sanji, his mere eyeshot is strong enough to make Sanji bleed (same guy who tanked S-Shark's punch like a mosquito bite), and he's physically strong enough to easily pierce Kuma's cyborg-Buccaneer body if he wants to. Anything else is just plot device, like why on earth hasn't Kizaru or Saturn killled Stella already ? Apparently they're waiting for Sanji and Luffy to return. lol
Saturn is simply above brawling with dirty pirates, who can do nothing to him. He doesn't care. If Saturn meant to fight Ulti, he would probably immobilize her like he did to Sanji, and her head would be squashed or chopped off, like an insect. We might see him do more when his plan starts to fail, but until then...

kol if we go with the imu is giving the elders power theory then the ability could probably work like other abilities and imu has to be knocked out in order for the abilities to go away meaning the elders could regenerate indefinitely until imu in knocked out and with the way jay put sanji, franky, and the others out the fight, they could be a real problem if they just keep regenerating from every attack setting them up to be perfect final villains

Saturn might be like a lot of old people in real life. He’s probably super strong but I feel like his ability to take damage is in question. I think a savage enough attack one shot could take him out by a strong enough pirate. I don’t think he’d kill Mihawk or anybody around that level that’s just how I feel.

The gorosei are probably all tied to Imu's power (the same way Luffy will probably influence or have people like Bonney or the iron giant that work in tandem with him). The strongest characters are probably these royal knights. It doesnt mean the gorosei suck because they are weaker than Kaido; i highly doubt till we see otherwise that Saturn is much weaker if at all weaker than Kizaru.
It has been said over and over. If you want to complain where these takes are going. It’s hard to gauge how strong the Gorosei actually are. Also hard to gauge strength when the last fight the straw hats had was a yonko. No denying that but does that mean Saturn needs to do something crazy to win us over than yes and I think killing Kuma infront of Bonnie and Luffy. So you can understand why ppl have been in a frenzy to figure out how powerful these guys are. They have the ability to change the scope of strength in one piece. If Saturn isn’t whipped clean. This amount of Cope is wildddd, bruhs Saturn was heavily injured by Kuma with a haki punch which Kuma isn't known for all Kumas better feats are devil fruit attacks.
People forget Kuma hit him hard enough to send Saturn flying so fast he lost his arm by making contact with a building.
If Saturn can't tank a haki punch from Kuma who isn't known for it, he'd be obliterated if a haki master was to have done it.
However to spite downplayers words on stream nobody of importance in OP is building level anymore, we've had everyone scaling above building level since albasta. So Saturn didn't lose the arm to the building, he lost it due to the punch.
Even me giving Saturn that credit, Saturn factually has less durability feats & strength feats/statements than all the commanders we've seen so yeah people giving him excuses is crazy at Saturn's best he's vice admiral level & that's pushing it lol😂

Saturn needs significant wounds in order to impactfully show the reader his significant regen abilities right out the gate, and Kuma’s story needs something of a payoff after his flashback. Oda did both at once. Saturn takes a bit of extra damage after the initial hit, loses a limb, and we get to see that he can grow them right back anyway.
We get Kuma’s revenge and Saturn’s relentlessness all in one punch.
Ulquiorra from Bleach proves this point to be completely moot. He is a character with regen that can also tank hits. I'm tired of people excusing crap durability with regen. These abilities aren't mutually exclusive in manga as people seem to think. Either Saturn's overall power is written terribly or he just doesn't stack up as a true threat for the Strawhats. This latest chapter seems to further prove that Saturn's purpose was always to be a trap threat not a physical one. Kizaru deals all the damage to the Strawhats and Saturn has no feats to imply he is anything more than we've seen so far.
Edit: By the way there are many ways to organically introduce regen powers without making a character have zero durability.

I know tier 3 discussions are typically idiotic. But, this takes the cake. Saturn has not taken anyone seriously this whole arc. You have absolutely nothing to judge him on. His regen more than makes up for his lack of durability. For all we know, he could literally be like Majin Buu. Until we see his true attack potency or find out if he has any limitations on his regen, we can not make any definitive conclusions. These discussions are jumping the shark and are driven purely by agenda without any real substance to them.
