    A lot of backup rings have a diagonal cut in them that does two things. It expands outwards under pressure conforming to the outer sealing surface, and it prevents damage during installation.

    I have lost count on the number of times I pulled the main relief valve and cleaned it on the old Bobcat 310 I was using in the 80's. It was way too sensitive to dirt.

    Prior to loosing and of the hoses, how do you bleed the pressure off of the line(s).

    I have a 2017 s450 and would like to know if the drive motors pull straight out from a carrier like older models or if i have to remove the chains, as i cannot see a carrier in the parts schematic. They are eaton manual single speed motors.
    Thanks

    So if your gear pump is good and you are still having the same issue? I have an s70 with similar symptoms. Thought it was the gear pump so i replaced it but no change.

    Do you have a video related to the ACS on an 863 (2002 model)? The machine I’m working on has a 34-02 code. I’ve been working on it for weeks and can’t make any progress. The service manual is no help. It doesn’t even have a troubleshooting tree.

    So when hooking gauge up to female quick coupler test is only done at idle?? Im assuming full throttle it would make pressure??

    • @tetradgroup
      @tetradgroup  5 місяців тому +3

      @fonickel6634 A good pump will make pressure regardless of RPM. We checked it at low idle and high idle. The best it could do is 1800 on this machine

    Over loading?

  • @tommyk1073
    @tommyk1073 5 місяців тому

    So to understand the flow control..when you had the flow control completely shut and the pump was only building 600psi…the 600psi created isn’t enough pressure to crack the motor casing or break something? It seems when you stop the flow, even though the pump output is 600psi, something has to give.

    • @MD_TETRAD_GROUP
      @MD_TETRAD_GROUP 3 місяці тому

      This is because the pump is internally bypassing most of the oil so it can never build any more pressure. These systems are also rated around 3500 psi

    History imo - dirty oil till ran dry like you said......neglect & abuse.....

  • @Failure_Is_An_Option
    @Failure_Is_An_Option 5 місяців тому +1

    I don't know... awfully clean for low oil. I'd lean more toward high oil temperature, but I thought those machines had protections for that. I suppose an auxiliary implement could of crapped the bed and dumped the oil. We will never know...

    • @tetradgroup
      @tetradgroup  5 місяців тому

      Hard to say. They do have high temp protection, however the R-Series no longer monitors charge pressure and will not shut down due to oil pressure like the M-Series would.

  • @TheZigZiggy
    @TheZigZiggy 5 місяців тому

    Could a defective hydraulic filter earlier in the life of this machine that allowed dirty oil to flow through the pump have caused this?

    • @Failure_Is_An_Option
      @Failure_Is_An_Option 5 місяців тому

      Pickup is just a screen.

    • @jfitz9624
      @jfitz9624 4 місяці тому

      @@Failure_Is_An_Optionhe asked about the return filter, not a pickup screen.

    • @jfitz9624
      @jfitz9624 4 місяці тому

      It could. If the filter was bad for a 500hr interval or even shorter and it was allowing unfiltered oil to continuously circulate the system that will definitely cause accelerated wear in the pump. With no filter you probably would get the same amount or more wear in 500hrs as you would in 10,000hrs in a properly working filtered system. But it also most likely wouldn’t be just the gear pump. The dual hydrostat, both drive motors would be worn, spools in the control valve would get scratched and scored etc. that would not be good..

    Dont do this at home, !00% need the relief valve for safety. bad gauge could kill you closing too fast could kill you... very dangerous! these guys know what they are doing.
