"My little girl is doing her hairstyle on my dummy head" Oh, that was fantastic! I found the whole video really interesting and I really like that tool, but that moment was magical! Specially for the expression of joy in your face. And then the ladybugs questions at the end, so great!
When I first started doing pincurls I used a tube of Lash Blast as my pincurl roller tool! Worked great. That tube is thick and tapers so you can slide the curl right off before pinning.
I love your channel and videos so much! I watch them all the time and they have helped a lot. My great grandma hasn't got much of her memory left of when she was a teenager and with your videos you have allowed me to brush up my pincurl techniques which have jogged her memory and made her much happier. Thank you so much again! Never stop doing videos!!!
Great tutorial . I got my Sculpture Pin Curler a few years ago , and I love it . I rarely do stand up pin curls , but I always use my tool when setting my pin curls . It has been a life saver ,especially for setting in the back . I've also tried the mascara tubes , and such , but the Sculpture Pin Curling tool works the best for me , because the little combs at the end help hold the hair in place , while you are rolling it into the pin curl . It's an amazing little tool to have on hand . A funny thing is my Mom said she had something very similar when she was a young girl , so that's pretty cool . Also , I really enjoyed hearing the sweet voice of your daughter talking to you . It's wonderful to see her have an interest in hair setting , at such a young age . She's following in her Mama's footsteps , and couldn't have a better teacher . Thanks for posting :)
The pin curler tool is like 30 dollars; to save money, go to a craft store or walmart and get old fashioned, round clothes pins (the kind without the clamps) also known as dolly pins and it is just as affective!
Thank you for making hair videos! You're the only person I've seen doing vintage sets on youtube who has hair as fine as mine, so your advice and recommendations always help!
I just LOVE your videos so much. You are so interesting and cool to watch. Although I don't do vintage styling myself, I find it all so interesting and the looks so glamorous. I absolutely love thinking about my grandmother and mother using these techniques as they prepped for their days or nights out with a boy :)
I absolutely love your videos. You do an amazing job at explaining the whole process of your hair tutorials. And your little girl at the end is too cute!!
Thankyou for this! I live in the U.K and am just learning pin curling. I couldn't find this tool anywhere but then I stumbled across a Retro One on Ebay. It's due to arrive any day now.I have my Clips, Setting Lotion,Brushes etc and am sooo excited to get started! Your video's are so helpful. Keep them coming. With Love from a British Fan X
I actually messed up! I don't know what I did but it looked like i had had an electric shock! I couldn't get a single curl no matter how much brush, pomade (Layrite) and taming I did haha! I guess I need some more practise.Maybe it was the way I pinned the curls down? It was easy enough to use and I did take it down to my ends.....I did air dry them all day until the evening.Thank goodness I wasn't going out! Who knows? I will keep practising though X
I love the little "blooper" at the end. She's such a doll! I also love your makeup, it'll be fun to see the look paired with an evening gown. You recommend the sculpting tool for stand up pincurls, but can we also use it for flat? I'm having a hell of a time trying to learn pincurls and any assistance I can get (like this tool) would be great.
You two are so cute! You also have the patients of a saint! Dang! That must have taken an hour or more! Worth it though, the "old-timey', pin-up look really works for you! you remind me of Carol Lumbard. Thanx for sharing!
I just did my first overnight set. I used foam rollers because they seemed the easiest for inexperienced me, and this morning at 11, they are NOT dry. and my hair was just damp, not soaking wet. Do you think that pincurls would be a better choice for me? This tool makes them look a bit less intimidating for sure! I think that although my hair is fine it's just maybe so thick that it's not drying? I tried not to use huge old sections too :(
You look amazing, just so pretty. I have just started collecting vintage style dresses and was wondering if you have any tips on how to clean you're dresses or do you always dryclean them?
The ladybugs 🐞 like the heat from your lamps. Also I love ❤️ your channel and videos!! Where did u get the vintage hairstyle poster behind u?? Can’t stop staring at all the lovely 😊 styles on it!
I love this tool it works wonders for me and it's much easier to use than with my fingers when I do it with my fingers it looks ok but with the pin curl tool it looks very professional I love it best tool i ever purchased I ordered mine on eBay and I got free shipping defiantly worth it for the price and the wait and it does what it's suppose to do and it definitely works for all hair types highly recommend this for woman who love vintage hairstyles
What kind of haircut did you get in this video would this haircut would work for a Rita Hayworth Gilda hairstyle ? if not which one will if you don’t mind me asking
I ordered from vintagehair and I would really advise it to people here who live in europe like I do because the shipping is really really affordable eventhough it comes from australia :) thanks for this video, it was very helpful! :D
Get a lady bug house trap. It works. They are not real lady bugs. They are a type of stinky Beatle they look similar to the real lady bug. But have a foul odor when they die off

Beautiful! Your videos are the only vintage tutorials I'll watch because everyone else seems so modern, you always look so authentic and pretty.

That means the world to me, that you watch even though you don't do the styles yourself. Huge confidence booster!!

What a great tool! Thanks for the review and demo! Your daughter stole the show - absolutely adorable!

Loved this tutorial! Also loved that you use Hillbilly Casino as your music!!
Hahahaha I love the little one at the end!!!! I'm rather familiar with trying to do my hair with a little one under foot!
So funny that this popped up on my must watch. I just ordered it and it shipped last week. Hopefully I will be able to try it soon!

Would this tool work on VERY long hair?
that looks adorable on you, love that style
Which styling lotion do you recommend most and are there any inexpensive alternatives? Love your videos!

I would really love to see how you did it though it's gorgeous!!!!!!!!
Definitely purchasing this gizmo, it's just what I need for help with pin curls :) Thanks so much for the video!
I would like to see the makeup you are wearing in the downbar of the description box. I always want to know the lipstick you are using.
Nothing cuter than a Baby with a southern accent!
I like it
First time to the difference tow kinds of pin curls , and what’s for, how it looks
Thanks 💗🌷
First Vid iv seen of yours...OMG!!! keep up the great work!!! beautiful hair :)
Oh my goodness, your make up is absolutely beautiful in this video. :) Crazy schmazy! It's gorgeous.
Hi Ashley , Your lipstick color is beautiful . I hope you don't mind me asking what color / brand it is ? It looks really pretty on you :)
How long does it generally take you to do a full wet pin curl set? Love this video as well as every video you make!:)
Love this makeup! And great video

Your thumbnail photo is adorable!
That's a very inventive way of showing how to pin curl and you know is show you to keep dingy white flakes off your hair from using all that gel.
I am going crazy trying to find this!!!!! Where do you find this in Canada!?!?!?
I know this is an old question but I think Lauren ships to Canada
What kind of haircut did you get in this video would this haircut would work for a Rita Hayworth Gilda hairstyle ? if not which one will if you don’t mind me asking
Josh May I have a video on a proper vintage haircut....it has most of the information you need...
thats a beautiful outcome!
Could you do a tutorial on your makeup? I adore it!
+TrulyJennyMorris I don't remember what it was at this point. haha.
Haha Well, it's gorgeous anyway. :)
Love the makeup!
I ordered from vintagehair and I would really advise it to people here who live in europe like I do because the shipping is really really affordable eventhough it comes from australia :) thanks for this video, it was very helpful! :D
thank you for this... and speaking of ladybugs... your little one is as cute as one...
You are actually a queen.
where did you get your back drop of hairstyles?
Its just a poster I made out of Hairstyling photos
Is your hair naturally straight or is it wavy and you just straighten it before doing the pin curls?
Stick straight. Waves actually HELP! DON'T straighten before a wet set. :)
Thank you!
you look gorgeous with blond hair!!
Ruby completely stole the limelight! I'm more interested in how her dummy's hair turned out if I'm honest!
Thanks so much loved this! So informative
You look so much like Katherine heigle in that first picture!
Where did you get the hair picture behind you in this video?
I put it together from a vintage style poster I had.
I love it
+Amber Phillipson When I bought the curler tool in this video on eBay, the poster came with it. :)
Very cute!
Ahhh ruby is so cuute!!! Sorry but that was the best part of the video ;]
Love!!!!! But it looks.so hard to do :/
Get a lady bug house trap. It works. They are not real lady bugs. They are a type of stinky Beatle they look similar to the real lady bug. But have a foul odor when they die off
Why not just include it all during the video instead of showing pictures at the end? . . .
Panda Princess because that isn’t whAt this video was about. I include the brush out process in most other videos.
LisaFreemontStreet Ooh ok. 😊
Ladybugs are good luck🐞
