  • Discover the transformative power of weightbearing exercises for stroke patients! Introducing 'ArmStrong,' a groundbreaking exercise program designed to enhance arm strength and functionality in individuals recovering from strokes. Get ready to regain control, build strength, and embrace a new chapter of recovery
Are you or a loved one recovering from a stroke? Has diminished arm movement affected daily activities? ArmStrong is here to empower you! With its targeted weightbearing exercises, ArmStrong will help you unlock your arm's full potential, allowing you to regain independence and rebuild your life with confidence.
Weightbearing exercises promote the relearning of proper movement patterns, activating the neural pathways involved with movement. Through repetitive weightbearing activities, the brain’s neuroplasticity is stimulated, facilitating the rewiring and reorganization of neural connections.
    1. Shoulder weight-bearing: Sit in a chair with an armrest. Rest the forearm on top of the armrest with the palm facing down, leaning toward the armrest to put some weight through the arm.
    2. Tabletop weight shifts: Improve arm stability and control with this simple yet effective exercise. By gently pressing your palm into a table and shifting your weight from side to side, you'll train your arm muscles to bear weight and improve overall coordination.
    - Start with your forearms on the table or a chair in front of you. Push your body up and down while keeping your forearm on the table or chair. Do this 10 times.
    - Now let’s keep our affected arm straight with palm facing down. Try to keep your affected arm straight as possible and the elbow not bent. Push down to bear weight and relax 10 times.
    - Third position is with the affected arm across the body. Bring your affected arm towards the unaffected side. With palm facing down in arms straight, push down to bear weight 10 times.
    - Next position is with your arms straight to the side. Keep your arm straight without bending your elbow and palm, facing down on a table or a chair to your side. Push down to bear weight on the affected arm 10 times.
    3. Modified sit to stand with arm weight-bearing. Bring both arms in front of you while keeping them straight and palms facing down. Push down against the chair or the table while you attempt to stand up. This will put more weight on your arms and will also improve your ability to stand up from sitting, which will also strengthen your legs at the same time.
    4. Wall push-ups: Strengthen your arms, chest, and shoulders by performing controlled push-ups against a wall. As you gradually increase repetitions, you'll notice enhanced upper body strength and stability. Start with elbows bent. Push against the wall and relax 10 times. Then bring your affected arm to a straight position and push against the wall 10 times. You can do this sitting down, or if you have a better balance, standing up.
Embrace the transformative power of ArmStrong and unlock the strength within your recovering stroke arm. After doing these exercises, try to do your movement exercises or practice, such as bringing that spoon to your mouth or a cup to your mouth, or brushing your hair for more functional occupational therapy practice. And if you find this video helpful share this program.
ArmStrong-rebuilding strength, reclaiming independence, and rewriting your stroke recovery story.

Start being close to the wall first and a chair behind you and when that gets easy after 2 weeks, take one step back and do the wall push up again every other day for 2 weeks
