CORB FUCKIN RULES
Not sure I need this installment nor Den 2 and 3 as I have the original volumes. However, the completist in me will probably scoop it up once this book's back in stock. I really enjoyed the first book, Murky World. Thanks for your thoughts, Carson.
It is worth it for the updated colors.
Murky World was not my thing, as Corben is not generally my thing. But the art in this is awesome.
4:00 Vaughn Bode needs a modern reprint collection at this level or reproduction.
Not even a fan of his work, but I agree, it is too important to be out of print.
@@clubgrubbug I know the images. I've seen some of the comics. I'd like to be able to see the rest. It seems important to graffiti culture more than comics, but that should be a reason to get it back in print. I think there has been some acceptance of graffiti as an art by at least some of us since the 70s.
Can you mention any places where you don't think Corben's art was reproduced well? I've had stacks of comics and mags with his stuff in it and many times his was the best looking stuff in them.
Jose has posted examples of before and after the retouching.
Love Kath & Evil Queen 44*29* 42 100% Female. (smile)
But when will a beautiful edition in Italian be available? Unfortunately this work of art has been out of print for a long time in Italy. Thanks a lot
Fingers crossed.
Parrish the thought!
😂😂😂
1. All the "negatives" you mention made Corben one of the best Hellboy artist IMHO. If I was Mike Mignola I would have locked down Corben as much as I could. Corben was perfect for the world of Hellboy.
2. The humor aspect - I think the South Park episode "Major Boobage" nailed this.
I did like him on Hellboy. It definitely fits his influence chain.
Hahaha.
Corben is very Heavy Metal. It's metal in general. He should be doing metal band album covers.
Him and and Boris are the essence of the chick-on-leg-sword-in-sky artists, to me.
@@clubgrubbug I can see that. I love Corbin's Meatloaf and Jim Steinman album covers. I have a spare Bat Out of Hell framed on the wall beside of Alice Cooper's Welcome to My Nightmare (by Drew Struzan).
His artwork was featured on a couple of Heaven's Gate covers. They were a German metal band. Livin' in Hysteria and Hell For Sale are albums that have used a couple of Corben's fantasy artworks, Blue Dragon and Wizard's Dreams. Pretty solid metal albums, too!
@@tannerb1475 it doesn't get more metal than Corben, Vallejo, Beksinski and the like.
need to get that one
100%
The format should have been bigger than it is. Also, the DEN collection is divided in too many books. Fine reproduction nevertheless, DH!
I am always happy with bigger, but they are so lovely I am happy
Ooh there’s a thought. Yes Go Bigger!
@@wtrollkin As Den's ... dong... suggests, bigger is indeed better.
i am looking forward to getting all the volumes of corben. just amazing strange wonderful stuff
Super strange, but beautiful.
Some of his art might look like clay maybe he use clay sculptures sometimes as a reference.
That does not surprise me at all.
please stop saying eXpecially
Sir, yes sir, I will work exspecially hard on that for you.
