Thank you for these for thorough reviews. It is very difficult to understand on all the foreign and US editions, and you really clear up any confusions.
Very cool video. Thanks! I really hope this Dark Horse series catches on…my fear is they have started with obscure stuff, only of interest to old guys like me who remember Moebius from the Early Heavy Metal days here.
You are welcome 🙏. Many share your fear about the title choices they made but personally I do like that they are going for new things, rather than reprints. I am pretty sure that down the line they will reprint some of the classics as there is so much to pick from. I would love to see a short story omnibus down the road.
Yes, this is my problem with these hardcovers, i love moebius, i got the 2 edena ones and love them but the others are retrospectives on his previous works that i can't get becuase i wasn't alive in the 90s when they were in print. and this one is the final book in a series that was last printed 30 years ago in english, i get that it's good to have to have new material in english but they definitely should sprinkle in some of the classics, I won't get this even though the art looks great becuase i wouldn't wan't to read it before airtight garage. honestly i think they're really hurting potential sales by not giving people a chance for new readers to get into moebius.
I agree, it would make a lot of sense to start a complete and steady run of issues but I don’t know what kind of obstacles they might have at the moment. I am pretty sure they don’t hold the rights anymore to those stories (Marvel printed them too ages ago and never did it again). I am pretty sure Dark Horse has to negotiate each run with the Moebius estate nowadays making it a much more laborious process than what we might think. Regardless I can assure you that you can read the Major without having read any of the previous stories in the series and full enjoy it. The only link to the airtight garage is the character of Major Gruber, the rest is just totally disconnected.
I appreciate the showcase, I don't understand why they would print the final book in a series first, not all of us were alive in the 90's to get the first books
Glad you enjoyed the video! As I said in another comment I think Dark Horse is not able to just reprint whatever they want at the moment. Moebius fought hard to regain full rights to his work after moving back to France from the US so I think Dark Horse has to negotiate each run with the Moebius estate nowadays making it a much more laborious process than what we think.
thank you for all the info!

@@moebius-chronicles thanks, i might get it then becuase i love the pen and ink only art style
Thanks for the review! You've convinced me to add this book to my collection. :)
Glad you enjoyed it!

@@moebius-chronicles I see, i hope that they can get the rights then.
I really hope Dark Horse or another publisher reprints Blueberry series. Those English reprints are ridiculously expensive now.
I would also love to see them reprinted. I have my Blueberry series in Swedish at the moment but would rather have them in English.
The way Dark horse printing Moebious .. it would take probably another 15 year before they reach to Blueberry series.
Cannot argue with that 😂
very nice!!! thank you )
Excellent review
