Thank you for the review. How are you liking this curriculum?

We really enjoyed some of it, but then others we didn't. I would say by the end we will have used maybe half the book. I liked the things in the front and the very end, but not the middle so much.

Hello! Have you used year 3 of LLATL? I am currently moving my 8yo over from TGTB 2. I have looked at the yellow book for grade 3 and it seems to be a repeat of most things she has already learned. The only thing that seems on par for her are the book reading levels. Do you think level 4 for would be an extreme jump from level 3? I know she might need a little more help with the readers for level 4. But everything else seems manageable. I have no experience with this program outside of what I see on UA-cam reviews so any information is helpful 😊

This is the only level we have used. I would think if level 3 is a repeat you might be safe going to level 4.

Did you take the placement test on their website?

@@nctb23 I did not take the placement test, but that's a good idea!

@@nctb23 I didn't know they had these available until I posted in a fb group. We tested and she is able to move into the orange book 😊🧡

Question: is there any sentence diagramming? I hear LLATL is a gentle approach. I want to try it but i am wondering if everything is covered.

I'm not too far into it yet, so I can't be certain, but I'm not sure there is a complete portion on sentence diagramming. I know there are certain times we are finding and circling or underlining different parts of the passage. However, to diagram an entire sentence, I'm not sure. I think my video showed the skills index list; maybe that would help to show exactly what is covered in this "orange" level book?

@@knowledgebynature8480 I was looking at that list but didn't see diagramming on it. It is being covered in my oldest child's 4th grade LA by Christian Light. But sometimes curriculums have different approaches.

@@julieshilling4105 You are correct every curriculum is different. I agree that it's a gentle approach. I do appreciate how straight to the point it is without "busy work". I do think there are programs far more rigorous tho. :)

@@julieshilling4105I saw a video comparing Christian light and llatl and it mentioned that Christian light is quite advanced. I think it specifically mentioned that there is no diagramming in llatl. Which in my opinion is fine for 4th grade, but if your child is writing /reading at a higher level it might be something important to your school. Hope this helps 😊

@@sparrowsknow8491 I would agree that CLE is a little advanced. I wonder if there is any diagramming in LLATL at all, in later grades. It kinda seems important lol. But I could be overthinking.
