That's a good question, I'll try to do a video on that. Until then do the assignments in the text, then practice those skills in our other subjects. For example I will have her write a 12323 on "two things she learned about the eye" or "Two things she learned about the Oregon Trail". Other times it might be fun writing, like "My two favorite games to play are...." Hope that helps !

I purchased the student book because I couldn't afford both books together right now. I will purchase the teacher book later and just view the teacher's book online through the subscription option. Yes, your response was helpful. I love that you can weave this curriculum to other subjects. I would also look forward to a video on how you use it with your daughter daily or weekly and a follow-up of how the curriculum has been going for your homeschool whenever you are able. Two totally different programs. W&R used a totally different approach from WBN. I have a video for W&R if that helps.

@knowledgebynature8480 Yes! I've been researching both extensively and I just can't seem to make a decision on which direction we should go with my youngest two. My fresh slates 😆 Honestly, after doing the free 2 weeks of WBN, I feel even more drawn to it. The upper stages of grammar are just a little frightening to me, I think. Maybe the initial price as well, but of course, it's much more economical in the long run!

For just starting out if I was to do it over I'd start with WBN. W&R was a little much for my beginning writer so we had a little struggle with it.

It starts very simple with writing one good sentence. Depending on your student I think you could introduce this sometime in 3rd grade. I would suggest checking out that 14 day free trial so you can look thru the books and even do some lessons.

First i would focus on reading making sure that a solid foundation. We used AAR for that. Loved All About Reading, for spelling that's a bit tricky as it's really what method clicks for your student. All About Spelling and spelling connections. Starting in 3rd grade phonetic zoo could be good. Learning Language Arts thru literature is a very gentle All in one program. At 3rd grade I would look into Fix It Grammar. I'm about to have a review on a new writing curriculum called write by number that is working well for us right now.

Oh yes there would be those things included in the teachers guide. It's been quiet a few years since I used this level so I can't remember how many games but there are definitely games and other hands on ideas

@@pjones0426 Hi there! We have a variety of reading. Rather then schedule, I have a loose idea of books then I usually let her take the lead on what she would like to read. For example this year she's read some Harry Potter, Kate Decamilo, early American History books, and many others. It's all over the board really.

@@MicheleAnastasio-b5b I would think this could be a great place to start, especially since you have the free lessons to evaluate with. There may also be a placement option also. It starts put slow but does pick up rather quickly. Some of my favorite spelling curriculums are Phonetic Zoo by IEW, All About Spelling, and Spelling Connections, all 3 a slightly different style. Hopefully one of those might be a fit for your student.

To answer your question I do let her free style, but I make sure we have a subject predicate and it's actually building upon what could happen in the photo. I have not used eSingapore, we did use the online teaching platform for Dimensions last year. My student does not thrive with online programs, so I usually don't use many online programs unless absolutely necessary. Sorry I can't be of more help.

We loved these too. I never found anything exactly like these but Evan Moor has some nice options.

@@Clutterfreecarli I believe that you could definitely just use the IEW things. LLATL is great for independent days, reviewing subjects and just overall a more laid back approach. If your doing IEW combo your set in my opinion!

@@melissamoore280 Hello! I did not continue with WWE2 (however I'm hindsight I think that would have been thr best option) Ioved over into Writing & Rhetoric which was too much at point. For grammar, we moved to Evan Moor for 3rd grade....again not sure I'd do the same with that one either if I had to do again. For grammar you might be interested in Ideas by Jivey on Teacher Pay Teachers. That is a fun way to do grammar with picture books that I found effective for the lower level. We are now using Fix It Grammar for 5th grade, big fan of that.

@@leahrodriquez1349 I try to pull out examples from the start, middle, and end of all subjects. Any work that is exceptional in my mind and some of our favorite crafts I save. Anything else I might snap a photo of for memories then pass it along. Then after a few years have passed i usually go back thru my stacks that seem to big and weed some out since it's not ad fresh and emotional. Hope that helps
