    I had an 81 L81 4 speed in that color. One year color. Here is a tip. REMOVE the Clutch Fan. The car already has a large electric auxilary fan than can be hooked up with an aftermarket thermostatic switch. The Power Difference is alot. The automatic cars had a 2.87 rear axle ratio and the 4 spd had a 2.72 !! sounds strange , i know but thats how they were geared for 81. With that said. My vette ran 15.2 @ 92 with the only mod being the clutch fan removal. There is a water temp sensor on the front of the intake manifold that controls the timing and fuel. It costs less than $30 and will make the car run way faster if its bad. I changed mine and it helped as much as taking the fan off.

    Hello, you mentioned at the intro, "does it clunk in reverse?" in regards to the 81 vette. If you could, wouldn't kindly explain what that klunk represents? I ask as I too have a 1980 vette, very pretty, but it klunks upon manual reverse and I just cannot seem to find what the issue is. Thank you, Ernie

    Intake is incorrect. Needs to be sealed for the snorkels to work. No hate. Nice car. Had one.

    The pinstripes are crime. 😬
    These C3s are not rare and they were cursed from the factory with weak engines b/c of the emissions. This would make a good LS swap to give it the power it deserves.

      NO WAY! I've owed 3 C3's and 2 C4's in my time. The 81 was the last one I owned and it was AWFUL as all 81 were,@@Newk16

      @@russelljdjWhich year C3 is the best one to own?

    • @russelljdj
      @russelljdj 4 місяці тому

      @@Jack_the_rider I'd say from 70 to 79 In my opinion because in 1980 Chevy didn't make the L82 with a 4 seed. But the L48 with the 4speed was decent.

      People who are really truthful, would say the 1980 - non California car, but they made less of those, so rarer. I owned a 1969, 1971, 1973 and 2 1980’s. Now remember this, I said that I owned, and I drove all these vehicles back during their hay days. The older models were real rattly , stiffer and rougher rides, the 80’s I felt rode and handled much better. But In short, it really comes down to personal opinion.
